  1. What was the game where TC scored two goals but missed two penalties. I think it was against Falkirk at Fir Park - think we won 5-2 or 5-3 ? Stuart.
  2. There is no denying that Stephen Hughes is a quality player however we didn't see enough of that quality last season - he was anonymous for most of it, which disappointed me as in the first season I thought he was immense for us. On the basis of last season, we won't miss him. We're already used to him being missing.... Stuart.
  3. There was already a thread about him having signed. Might have been worth you having a look there first? Or earlier in this thread where it was also mentioned ?? Stuart.
  4. Just had a play about with his entry on Wikipedia Stuart.
  5. Good to see another new poster bringing such eloquence and articulate chat to the forum. Stuart.
  6. Gotta love breaking news on the site - haven't heard this Stuart.
  7. Ok. I'm going to show my age here. Jimmy O'Rourke scored a hat trick after coming on as a sub in the second half of a game Oct/Nov 1976 or 1977 against St Johnstone or Hibs (memory letting me down!) Also, didn't Ian Ferguson score a hat trick at Dunfermline a few weeks before the cup final in 1991 ? Stuart.
  8. Well, when Celtic and Man Utd won the European Cup in the 1960s the UK was not a member country of the EEC (as it was then). There is no link between being European in a football sense and European in a political sense. Stuart.
  9. It's not a farce - it makes no difference why a person enters a country. If a visa is required then there's no way around it. Stuart.
  10. Oddly, the Nancy spirit disappeared at Fir Park as soon as they scored the first goal that night. The atmosphere died instantly and was nowhere close to what we experienced over there. So, it comes down to the fans and not the ground. Stuart.
  11. So what you are saying is you want fizzy cola Sometime I wonder if Ice Rink is still with us. Stuart.
  12. What happened to "There will be at least one late night in the Ticket Office during the selling period" which was part of the previous announcement ? Still not making it easy for those of us who work nowhere near Motherwell. Looks like another mad dash to Airdrie to get a ticket on the night! Stuart.
  13. Does anyone have a figure for the number of Well fans who made it to the game last night ? Stuart.
  14. Aye very good Graeme. "Happy to plod along" are we. Fair enough, swap us for a team which finished 16th out of 24 in the THIRD division in England last season. If they are paying you more money then good luck to you but don't feel that because you have become a seagull that you need to sh** on us. Stuart.
  15. UEFA website has a minute by minute text commentary - assume BBC will have the same. UEFA Stuart.
  16. Will be interesting to see how the games are divided - Sky and ESPN will have 30 each. The transmission slots will continue to be Saturday lunchtime, Sunday afternoon and Monday evening. Sky subscribers will presumably get their matches wrapped into their existing packages - ESPN will be an entirely new package (sold by Sky) and will give you access to the English Premiership matches. So if you already have Sky - take your chances that some of our games are shown by them and you won't be out of pocket.........of course if you have neither then you're going to have to shell out quite a bit to get Sky Sports (probably need the full package as you won't know which channel they will show the matches on) and ESPN. Hmmm. Stuart.
  17. Official site no longer lists the Wigan friendly. Stuart.
  18. Realistically, are there any SPL players out there in our price range who you would want at Fir Park ? I genuinely cannot think of one player I have seen come up against us in the past couple of seasons and thought "he could do a job for us". I think it's exciting and refreshing that Jim Gannon is bringing in players we have never heard of - and more importantly it will again make us something of an unknown quantity to the other SPL sides - which can very quickly work in our favour, and going by Jimbo's record I have every faith in what he is doing. Stuart.
  19. Oh dear. BBC News Stuart.
  20. Does anyone know what's happening with this ? Has it definitely been cancelled ? Stuart.
  21. He does indeed sit in the Cooper Stand at the aisle nearer to the East Stand side. Stuart.
  22. I know who this is. He's a mate of dad - they go to the same church. For the sake of his privacy I don't want to name him - but a nicer guy you could not meet. I'm sure he was ill a couple of years ago so wish him all the best in recovering from this horrific incident. The scum responsible deserve all that's coming to them. Stuart.
  23. In amongst all the great things about last night, one of the most significant was obviously that we broke the horrendous live TV curse. It is often quoted that we had not won a match shown on live TV since we defeated Celtic on the last day of the 2004/5 season - May 22nd - but later that year we beat Aberdeen 1-0 in the CIS Cup Quarter Final at Fir Park on Tuesday 8th November. 4 months short of 4 years between winning live TV matches. Glad we have got this monkey off our backs.......and it will be interesting to see how widely the media report that we are now the first Scottish team to go through a European tie after losing the first leg at home! Stuart.
