    In's And Out's

I have to say I was very surprised at that. Personally I think Lee Miller is a fantastic player that far too often doesn't get used properly.
  2. Aye right enough, bringing in an incredibly highly rated young manager who was wanted all over Britain, clearing out the squad so that he can make his own mark on it, giving him a wee pot of money to do it with, and all this SEVEN WEEKS before the start of the season...is shite right enough. This next bit isnt directed specifically at you, but sometimes I dont know if some folk know fuck all about football, or fuck all about how a club is run. I think it's a wee bit of both.
  3. Im sure you could find something depressing in it somewhere
  4. Aye to be fair i'd love a wee cushion or two in Jan/Feb! Mibbes a wee throw as well!
  5. Surely you can see that the season before last was an anomaly? You cant factor for that in any changes that you make. Regardless, if you read my bigger post from further up im talking about much more than just results on the pitch, and talking about the club as a whole.
  6. Thing is though if it's gonna happen (and as i've said I feel it's badly needed) then it has to happen this way. I dont necessarily agree with you over the names mentioned, but for the sake of the point I do see what you're saying. Thing is though, how is your dead-wood gonna get you any money? Over and above that, keeping players that are so called "key", and changing the rest...isn't really changing anything anyway. Getting rid of players that hardly get a game, and replacing them with new players that hardly get a game....you'd be as well just staying the same. All just the way I see it obviously, but you don't improve and change the way a house looks by buying 3 or 4 new cushions, sticking some new towels in the bathroom and getting a lamp. You change walls, carpets, doors...the structure of the thing. Seems to me thats what we're doing here, and it's been needing it for a long time.
  7. I just feel that we'd got really stale over the last few years. Yeah it was great that Clarky and Quinn and Hammell and Lasley etc etc had been a round a long time, but with that comes the fact that your never gonna be able to change much. Yeah you can bring in a few guys here and there but if they are slotting in amongst the same old faces then everything gets reall flat and complacent. Comfortable, I think would be the ideal word to somethings up...the whole place had become comfortable. To me it seems like we're going for a real re-birth at the moment, one that will have an effect not just on the coming season, and not just on the team. We're really gonna be in a position where there is a whole different feel about the club, fresh ideas from top to bottom and a new way of doing things right from the manager, through the coaching staff, to the players, and even the pitch they play on. It's really setting the whole place up for a positive change, and im extremely excited about it, especially when you look at the dull, unimaginative changes made by other clubs. Falkirk are gonna be run by a guy thats never managed before, assisted by one guy that no-one likes and another guy that sounds like he doesnt have a clue in his hairy heid. The new Hibs are just gonna be the old Falkirk but with slightly better players, the new Celtic are just gonna be the old Hibs but with slightly better players, and the new Aberdeen are just gonna end up being the old, well....us!! It looks like whoever our manager is, he's going to have a bit of profile about him and bring a bit of a spotlight to the club, but not only that he's going to be given the chance to mould everything else the way HE wants...rather than having to slot into the same old same old way things are done down Motherwell way, which I think most people would tell you, had gotten very samey. Say for example this new guy is in place by the end of the month. He then has almost SEVEN WEEKS to come in and do whatever he likes, and NONE of that is dependant on being able to move people on. Im not for a minute saying that all of the money coming into the club will be available to him, but some of it will, and we're about to be in a situation where a new boss is coming in who ISNT one of the stale old guard, who will bring with him a fresh way of thinking, a bit of status and profile, a brand new way of thinking, and a little pot of money on his desk to do it with. Can you think of another club in the league in a better situation that that? I genuinely can't.
  8. If it was me then the former, every time! Im actually quite pleased with the way things are going!

    In's And Out's

The more of a transfer kitty we have, the better calibre of manager we will be able to attract. Seems to me that someone has been promised they will have money to spend...and we're in the process of delivering that. Seems strange to me that folk will complain that the team and the squad is looking stale, too many players are guaranteed of their place, so-and-so has gone as far as they can go....and yet when it looks like the squad is potentially being completely overhauled, with the chance to really freshen things up...thats still wrong? Canny work out some folks way of thinking sometimes....

Unfortunately if it's posted by Roadrunner, you can pretty much count on it being true. On the upside, if we keep going this way I might get a game!

    I Come In Peace !

Much like the significance held by the Rooks that live in The Tower Of London, should David Clarkson wear the colours of another club side, plague shall beset the country, and fire shall rain forth from the heavens. True story by the way.
  12. I think we also have to remember the difference between being shite in the Premiership, and being shite in the SPL. A manager from a struggling EPL side could quite feasibly be much better than a manager doing well in the SPL. A McGhee/Levein/Calderwood side would be handed their arse on a plate on a weekly basis by most EPL sides, yet they are the best we have up here!

    Season Tickets

"I missed the first games of the season because I didnt have my season book in time!!" "Why not?" "cos the club didnt write to me to tell me to renew it!" "So, you've been sitting for weeks, annoyed that the club weren't reminding you to get a new ticket?" "Aye!! It's a disgrace!"
  14. I must admit im kinda the opposite, im not that fussed about Leitch going. I've never got the whole "Mr Motherwell" thing, as for the most part I thought he was fairly shite when he played for us.
  15. In a similar vein, I remember when Hibs appointed Franck Sauzee, they thought they would get his style of play, his european contacts, and some French flair...and all they got was everyone laughing at them. In saying that though I did vote for Nijholt, although that was more because everyone else on the list is either a pipe-dream, or gives me the heebie-jeebies when I think of them managing us. I had no idea who Jim Gannon was at the time, but I must admit he does sound the most impressive of the realistic candidates on the list to me now.
  16. Thing is though I genuinely dont think any one of us grudges him his move...especially after what he managed to do for us. But theres a McFadden way of doing it, and theres a Pearson way of doing it, and THATS what fucks people off. I think the Pearson way has just found a new name.
  17. Aye! *do not post jokes til im properly awake. ** do not post jokes.
  18. To be fair though, if he's only gonna bring in better than what we've got, we could be onto a winner!
  19. Well depending how long that appointment took, we could have a caretaker manager in place for the first European game, and then im sure Neale Cooper would love a right good crack at the second leg.... (im really sorry... )
  20. If you were out with your other half one night, and she said to you... "Can you wait here, im goin over to see if I can get a ride off that guy over there, cos he's really hot and much more the kinda guy I wanna be with." Then came back over and said... "Nah he doesn't want me, i'll just stay with you instead" She'd get told to fuck right off. Thats no different to whats happening here so one way or another, cheerio Mark.

The same applies to McLean in my opinion. We should have had a contract with the ink still wet waiting for him as he left the pitch against Killie.
  22. Apart from the line thats trimeter
  23. Chance our arm and approach Kevin Keegan. I'd fully expect he'd come back and say along the lines of, "Motherwho??". In which case, i've been convinced by the Nijholt brigade. My thinking being that i'd rather it went tits up with there having been a chance of success, as opposed to a guaranteed tits up under McCall, Williamson et all.
  24. Ahhh thats an excellent spot! Good knowledge!
