  1. A friend of my brothers who goes to Motherwell College says that he stays in Motherwell College halls permanantly - no the best of digs I wouldnt have imagined for a pro footballer, whatever level! Anyway we can't judge him because who has seen him play? He was brought in as a prospect last season. Craigan, Hutchinson, Hammell, Hately, Page, Gunning and Saunders are all ahead of him in the pecking order, because with the exception of Gunning, they've all been at the club longer than Charalambous and are more experienced. Hutchinson and Saunders playing in the first team 2 and a half years ago remember. Gunning was brought in as cover because as thin as the squad is, we need players who can go straight into the team and do a turn without taking risks, remember Gunning has been on loan at a few League 1/2 clubs. All this judging of someone who hasn't played is pretty ridiculous in my opinion. As is the castigating of Casagolda as a waste of a jersey - he has had 5 minute cameos here and there. How can we judge players when we have barely seen them play?! Typical Motherwell way...
  2. Only person I can ever remember actually moving at throw ins is Scott McDonald. As for John Sutton running like The Terminator, its something we take the piss outta every game, but ever noticed how Saunders runs on his tiptoes?
  3. "There he is, GIE HIM IT!!!" "FUCKIN THROUGH HIM!" "SHOOOOOOT!" (something we don't do often enough in my opinion) "Skin him Chris/Jamie, he's fuckin murder" "Park it oan Sutton's napper" "
  4. IF we get through. And even then, it's not really a home game.

    Mark Reynolds

I agree that Reynolds was a good centre half for us, and knocking him at left back is like knocking John Sutton on the wing. However, knocking Aalesunds out was easily one our greatest achievements as a club?!?! They were no better than a team like Aberdeen or Kilmarnock.
  6. I checked the odds on Paddypower last night and again 2 minutes ago, we have shortened from 9/1 in to 15/2. Worth a punt?
  7. Were you sitting with your dad (?) in the East Stand towards the away end, at the end of a row? My mate was blethering pish (albeit tongue in cheek pish) about how this is no Barcelona, and how folk would rather watch the Arsenal v Barca game on the telly than come to this shite. I was saying that it was too tippy tappy sometimes and sometimes you wanna see Jennings or Craigan or whoever absolutely crunch someone in a blood and thunder game on a Febuary midweek....? I still stand by that, however pish the other night might have been, it sort of represents what you go and watch and know, and in some ways actually like in a kind of martyrdom way. As opposed to the corporate, soulless, non-contact sport you see in the like of the Emirates. If it was us, there's yer explanation!
  8. Who do you suggest as a viable, available replacement?
  9. Don't disagree it was pish but Sutton won just about every ball he went up for, they had put Goodwin (absolute thug by the way) on him for the aerial challenges and I don't remember Goodwin winning a ball.

    St Mirren

    What game were you watching?

    St Mirren

Gunning or Jennings but I went for Gunning. First time Ive seen him play but strong, committed, athletic and good in the air. Looks like he can strike a ball too. A real find.

If it is Le Fondre I'll bag that as my shout! Club probably read my initial post actually...

    Casagolda

Ach nonsense Craig...watching him at half time kickabout is enough to suggest he has better technique than most in the team. Watch him at halftime and judge him after 5-10 consecutive starts and then tell me he's a tourist.

    Ins & Outs

Plus he hasn't kicked a ball in how many years and gets punted from every club he's been at. Couldn't get a game at Sheff Wed, is he good enough for us on the wages he'll probably be on?

    Casagolda

    , . : ; ' - Know what these are...?
  16. pingu

    Casagolda

Anyone want to dig out threads about Jutkiewicz after 2 starts...? "Clogger, useless, no better than what we have, should be punted." And that turned out alright. He deserves a few more games, Sutton and Murphy (whilst maybe they are better SPL players) aren't scoring so therefore given a few games Casagolda might. People on here and Motherwell fans in general are so so quick to judge.

    Ins & Outs

Leanne Thanks for an honest post that pretty much hits the nail on the head I think. It is disappointing, but we don't know how the loan deal would have panned out anyway. In isolation it is far from the big deal people are making it out to be. However there is a caveat in that I think the reaction has been influenced by a buildup of things that have irked supporters recently. Another poster listed them, and I'm in doubt you'll be aware of them, but amongst others include the Jim Gannon saga, the Mark Mcghee saga, the Craig Brown saga, Nick Blackman coming and going, urine soaked concourses, league reconstruction debates, pricing compared to overall quality, and some disappointing results and performances on the pitch. It is often a case of being told one thing (although not neccessarily by the club) and something else happening. Although I wont be in attendance on Monday due to other committments, I think you should maybe take these things in combination to understand why a lot of fans backs are up over this incident. It would be good to hear some debate or feedback from the club particualrly in relation to facilities (East and POD stands) and pricing, with fans input, especially with the opportunity for change as presented by the SPL right now. As it stands, it's simply another disheartening story for the supporters. Anyway that's my tuppence worth, thanks again for posting when you probably didn't have to, and long may fan/board interaction continue. Craig

    Ins & Outs

You're probably right but as I said, just a suggestion to move on from Grellagate. Players have came to us from leagues above League 2 before, so it's not as if we're a level below Rotherham or what Le Fondre is playing. I would safely say that we would be a step up, if not in wages then in football terms.

    Ins & Outs

Just throwing a random name into the hat here, but last time I did that as a suggestion, Chris Porter signed! How about Rotherham's Adam Le Fondre? Apparently available on a pre-contract just now, top scorer in League 2 with 16 goals for the season, and refusing to sign a contract (well as of reports I've seen around Nov/Dec 2010). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_le_Fondre http://www.skysports.com/football/player/0..._295084,00.html Maybe there might be bigger teams in for him but worth an enquiry. This is the kind of player we should be looking at I think.

    Ins & Outs

It's not when you look at the official site - there are a lot of young players that may potentially be on the verges of breaking in. Bringing in 7 or 8 players would destroy that. Plus, we wouldn't have enough room for them financially.
  22. "Yeah those things are great and I'm thrilled to get them but I've heard other strikers have found mutton pie, butterys and Brewdog lager elsewhere in Scotland, which is really what I'm trying to emulate".
