To develop our youngsters we are gonna need an experienced head or two around them. I'd like to think we could keep Pearo but reckon Skippy and possibly Sutton would be gone
Keep Sutton and Skippy, get rid of Bob McHugh. Job done.

Tony Straker ripping the arse out Accies in the first half was tremendous, as was Steelboy's reaction to our chant of 'Only one Tony Straker' afterwards. Special mentions to Erwin, Johnson and Skippy. Those three with Ainsworth were a joy to watch at times. I agree on that if Erwin gets a goal, he'll end up scoring a tonne. Just a bounce away at times it seems; he needs to spend some time with Sutton to get some poaching practice!

Got to credit Ainsworth for proving me wrong; I held my hands up on Friday night when he played the way he did. All we need now is that same level of performance/impact every week.

Liking the new design, nice and slick.
Background is fine and the only issue I have to report is some problems with pages freezing (one in particular) on I.E. 9 but I think that's an out of date Javascript problem.
Shoutbox wise, I voted for it to be shut on matchdays but I wouldn't cry if it was lost, it's pretty pointless when you leave a message and return and can't see the replies for spam/general shite that's in it. Also means people don't check the forum and post whatever news they have there, which isn't the point of it at all.

Yeah but roaster posters need to justify their earlier comments.
On countless occasions Ainsworth hid from a pass from Law when there was acres of space on the right wing in behind their fullback, which is where he should be looking to get to. He continually clogged up the right channel and restricted Skippy's play as a result.
Not one of his crosses on Saturday beat the first man, his corners in particular were diabolical.
He shirked out of several 50/50s that could have resulted in him being in behind 1 on 1 with their centre half, potentially leading to scoring that winning goal or providing a winning ball in that we were all desperate for.
He made 2 or 3 half arsed attempts at tracking that left Law horrendously exposed at RB and led to a few chances for Killie to nick a goal.
Happy?
Also, for the record; I agree with what other posters have said. He's easily the most frustrating player at Fir Park but he hasn't been anywhere near the same player as last season in ANY of the games he's played this year. Today was the final straw for me, that's all. We can't carry someone who's half arsed through a game when we're fighting for our Premier League survival.

A point was a decent result pre-game. Not a good result post, sadly. Thought our front 4/5 were excellent in the first half, Johnson in particular. Mcdonald will be the man that keeps us up if we manage it.
Worst decision was to take off Grant and bringing on Ainsworth. After today he should never play in a Motherwell shirt again. Continually hid from Law and didn't hit the byline like he did last season once. When he eventually got into positions his decision making was horrendous.

What about the other matches we won? Did you tie your laces back to front that day?
I was there on Saturday. I haven't seen us lose this season or fail to score (all home matches):
Stjarnan, St Mirren, County, ICT and Partick.
I'm going to be going more often now.

Question (someone's mentioned this already): he's listed as an attacking midfielder on Wikipedia.
Why can't Skippy be the one that creates goals for Sutton, playing just in behind him?
-
Two issues though;
1...is he fit?
2...who will make the chances for him to score? With the best will in the World, Sutton has been shite, but he has had no service, what will be different for Skippy?
1. Yes, according to a Millwall supporting friend he was fit but just not producing goals for them. He reckons that was more down to the supporting cast.
2. Pearson, Johnson and Dom Thomas are all creative enough (I'm basing Johnson on reports from down south, but I don't know how serious his injury is) to get balls to Sutton/McDonald to deliver scoring chances.
As others have mentioned, McDonald is a welcome addition; a proven goalscorer. The thing we need more than anything in the run in is Pearson to get & stay fit and provide us with the link between defense and attack.

Just as an example, a work colleague's son was released from his contract at Celtic and was signed by Accies last season.
He left after 3 months, moving on to Partick Thistle's system because of a considerable difference of opinion with "How things are done" at Accies, I believe.
Ruthless is certainly a word I'd use based on what I've heard.

Damn you StAndrew
Love you too, babez.xxx

Tony Rialist playing tonight for the U20s.

I'll see if I can find the tweet to confirm. It was definitely from a journalist though.
I still can't quite believe we paid money for someone. When was the last time we did that?! Bringing Stevie Hammell back from Southend?
I was thinking that; £100k (ish) if memory serves?
Before that it was Hughes in the summer window, about £50k from Leicester, I thnik.
Since then, not a penny, unless we've had to pay development fees - I don't recall any, though?
-
I know Thomas is the end of the season. Not sure about Johnson.

Or a bigger door to boot more players out of...

4-2-3-1
------------------- Long --------------------- -----
Ramsden - McManus - O'Brien - Straker
-------------- Lasley - Grant ------------
---------Johnston - Pearson - Erwin -------

Are Humphries and Hutchison playing, too?
-
Wanted by League 1 and Championship clubs, too. Sounds an exciting prospect!
-
Another winger? Interesting.
-
Tomorrow's training will be interesting, them and us?
If there is, our captain and senior players should be out on their arses.

There's also part of me that has the slight fear about trying to gel so many new faces into a squad when we don't really have too many games left in which we can afford to get it wrong. But I suppose we can't get it much more wrong than we've already got it this season.
I think Bara will work them hard over the next 2 weeks to bed them in, find the settled spine of the team he wants and use others on rotation as required.
-
Thomas confirmed?
Yeah, link on the previous page to SFA confirmation.
-
I'm fully aware of that. I didn't say its for the best for the team. I'm just excited/interested to see the new players and how we line up.
Aye, was a bit short there, sorry. I agree with you; most optimism I've had about the team in a while. I'm moving house that weekend. Will be listening in unpacking boxes, heh!

I'm not. It gives Bara 2 weeks with all the players to get them bedded in and ready. Doesn't need to throw them in straight away.

Same problem here; might be better in white like the page you're currently on is at the bottom left corner? Can't see the topic title at all on my work PC.
