If this comes to fruition there must be something going on with McManus.
Sure Leanne/KMcalpin mentioned some personal issues with McManus in this/another thread..?
-
Injuries? Hadn't appreciated that. He was highly rated at Aberdeen which is entirely what I'm basing it on!
Wigan supporting friend assures me he was utter pish down ther. Injured now and then but not a lot.
-
Exactly; if his contract's up this summer, give us some cash now, rather than lose him for free.
If he goes on a free, would there be development cash involved if he's moving to an English club?
-
Must win. Won't win. Relegation fodder.
-
There was a home defeat to Dundee United on a Sunday near the end of the season where he gifted them two early goals.
Was just about to edit it and say I remembered him playing in a couple of games after the split!
-
He only played the beginning of 2009 season, I thought?

Whit rumoured trialists ?!
Hungarian lad, left mid I thought? Cerny, too?
-
Any update on the rumoured trialists?

Oh I know, I just wanted to call Gow shite again. It's been a while, and he really is fucking shite.
I'll await someone posting irrelevant statistic or link to how well he's doing in some seaside league down south.
Fair enough.
He played in India, too. In their diddy league, not the 'quality' one that Pearo played in...
-
I don't think he was comparing the two from an ability point of view. More the fact that some people love him and others hate him, similar to Gow.
Anyway; any word of how the Hungarian lad is doing on his trial?
-
Is he not fucked with injury?
He was at one point; think he's playing/has been playing fairly regularly in Greece since last year.
-
So we're currently linked with 3 attacking players, one of whom has already signed; fine, goals have been hard to come by.
Would love a left back capable of covering for Hammell and a GK to replace Gunnar if he does indeed leave. Doubt we'll get both.
Quite excited at the prospect of this Hungarian lad, could be another Ojamaa.
-
Dayton a left or right footer?
-
Pacey more than a target man; will run the channels and give you pace up front. Doesn't score many but always seemed to get a timely goal when we needed it for a win.
-
Mark Wilson has had his contract terminated by Dundee Utd. Anyone think he'd be worth a 6 month deal?
-
A non-league player that doesn't track back.
That might be just enough to push some of the posters on here over the edge.
He's playing in League 2. Nicky Law had a similar reputation when he joined the club from the same division, that turned out alright.

Regardless of the pros and cons, I think the slope prevents any consideration of laying an artificial surface. I don't remember the figures quoted, but when the pitch problems were being addressed (partly due to the slope), someone in the know posted the details and it was a deal breaker.
I remember it being quoted as in the £millions, at least.
As for the rest, I play on artificial pitches a lot of the time with my current 11s team and physio for them too; I haven't noticed a significant increase in injuries over that time compared to my last team that played more on grass. If anything, grass was worse because of slippery conditions etc during the winter (we played on decent pitches too, not many quagmires).
For me though, cost would be too prohibitive. That and we wouldn't have moments like the 'Deep End' sign again, which was top notch.
-
Our all time FP record against them reads Played 45, Drawn 24, Lost 25.
Errr..?
-
Dan for me, made some excellent saves again and bailed out O'Brien/McManus with a few.
Thought O'Brien was absolutely chronic and at fault for the second goal; didn't see the first properly.

As I've mentioned in another thread, Saturday was my first game since St Mirren on the opening day.
It didn't fill me with confidence at all; the players were holding on for dear life at the back and Ainsworth wasted several chances to keep the ball in County's half. We had a few breaks where we could have killed them off and either missed or played the wrong ball. Frustrating, but if we can be more clinical we'll improve.
As a final point, that's the WORST half time reception I've heard a Motherwell team have since the days of Malpas.
-
I heard his interview with BBC Scotland on the way to Saturday's game and he came across very well. Worth listening to if it's on their website - even if it is just for the bit about Flow being flown out to Barbados today.
That made me chuckle somewhat.
The interview was excellent; comes across very well and emphasised as much as he could how he wanted to work with everyone in the local community to make sure that the plan happens within 5 years.
Jane Lewis was very direct and to the point with the questions she put to him (I believe she's a 'Well fan?) as was Richard Gordon.
Like it's already been said; very exciting times for the club and having only been to 3 games since August (Saturday being my first since St Mirren on the opening day) for a number of different reasons, the excitement/positivity that should come from this may well see me back more often.
-
Ditto what G&F ^^^ said. Seems fair enough reasoning to me at the minute, though doesn't do a lot to quell the rumours of pending investment in the club and the associated pitfalls of that happening (OMG NOBBY SOLANO, etc).
-
When we see the white smoke over the main stand we will know, the players and staff will kiss his ring and the new manager will appear to the fans.
... Bob Malcolm's coming back?!
-
the club repaid boyle around £500,000 over 5 years without issue so i think this could be budgeted for.
the money we have lost over the past few years is effectively the money we have lost out on because of 5 missing visits from rangers, reduced league sponsorship because of rangers and reduced tv income again because of rangers. hopefully hearts and rangers are promoted and we will be in a far better position next season.
Not if we're in the Championship.

Or the chance for Thomas to play in the middle or on the right?
