By the same token we would be in a better position if we had not incurred losses of over £3m in the past two accounting years. Those losses are clearly not of concern to some. How long can we sustain losses of that nature? And, Yes, we would still have had to spend a fortune on the East Stand and Pitch even if that previous income had not been available. Possibly funded by the Well Society leaving us even more exposed. Those upgrades were almost mandatory for Safety Certificate reasons and to avoid further SPFL sanctions because of the pitch. And Fir Park will continue to eat up funds as repairs are ongoing.

And, if investment  had been secured earlier, we could perhaps have also had funds to improve the playing squad rather than bringing in the low cost players you have openly stated are not good enough.

There is scope for outside Investment, the Society and player sales. In fact proper application of any Investment could actually result in more profitable youth development, increased player sales and improved performance on the pitch.

The £3m "loss" is not an ongoing situation.

Money was given during Covid as an interest free loan and the club chose to spend some of that money on changes to the park and hunter stand. That is a one time expense.  That was not related to any safety certificate. The main stand has had some issues in the past that needed addressing but i believe that is now sorted and not a large on going cost.

So your point about sustainability is completely wide of the mark.

Ok. Can you quote the bit where anyone says anything about selling them majority shareholding, or is that just your personal take on what he meant?

He clearly had the intent on having an investor take a majority shareholding otherwise there would have been no straw poll of Well Society members to ask that very question.

It is frog in the boiling pot trick.

I thought that too, but the last vote showed the members were very much of the the opposite view indicating they would be willing to give up an overall majority; and by quite some margin.

Like this. That is not what the poll asked. But now people think the Well Society has already shown that it is putting it majority share of the club up for sale.

Todays result just typifies for me why I have always felt the society model would only work for so long

when les Hutcheson extended the deadline time and time again for us to hit the min numbers required to take control the writing was on the wall for me

not saying the society doesn’t have a place but a mix of private and fan ownership is the perfect model for me

We already have a mixture of Private and Fan ownership.

Around 30% of the club is own outside of the Well Society.

If the numbers going around are true then it is way off the value of the club.

People had the option to vote and some clearly didn't take it. I personally don't think that should make the outcome of the vote less valid.

Do you think the Well Society did a good job of letting people know there was a vote and what it was about?

Is an email really the best they can do to engage members? They have an opportunity at every home game to engage with people face to face. Turnout is low because there was no effort put into getting people to vote.

  5. Spittal is horrific at crossing a dead ball. Has no confidence of striking the ball with power and pace which is what you need to score goals.

There must be someone in the squad who can hit a corner with conviction rather than just tossing it up.

Ojamaa didn't score many goals before he joined but made a positive contribution when he was with us.

Not saying Bair will provide similar. But if he does sign I hope he proves me wrong.

Ojamaa was 20 when he signed with us. Bair is going to be 24 in a month.

He is well beyond the development part of his career. At this point he is who he is. And it isn't good enough to be playing for anyone in the Premiership. Signing him is throwing money down the drain. Filling out the squad with guys who aren't up to the standard has been a problem at Fir Park for years.

I can’t be arsed checking but how many goals did KVV score before and after SK arrival? perhaps he has a knack for getting the best out of players? I really don’t know but just a thought.

KVV had hit double figures for goals regularly throughout his career. Theo Bair hasn't scored 10 goals in his career.

Bair was one of the least effective strikers in the league. He has a single goal in his whole time with St Johnstone. I'm ok with picking up guys who have had a down season but they need to have shown something they can bounce back to. Bair has never shown it at any point and he should not even be in consideration.

Was his agent saying that last year when he was farmed out to Cove?

    Yes.

    https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/max-johnston-sheffield-united-luton-26424613

There is the Record reporting he was on the radar of Luton and Sheffield Utd last March.

    Quote

The teenager has already made his Motherwell debut and Steelmen boss Graham Alexander plans to give him his first-team chance next season,

Instead we signed another right back and punted him out on laon again.

I don't see what Cornelius has done , becoming a better player by not playing

What has Tienrney done to keep his place.

Cornelius was subbed when he had the lead at Kilmarnock. Then lost his place because we rinsed a shite Morton side in the league cup. The goal today was the first time we have scored with Tierney on the park this season.

We need a winger also, someone that will take on players and actually put a cross in.  I thought hylton was bad but jeez woolery is running him close.  I wonder if 4 4 2 is answer going forward

No we need the comlete opposite. We need another forward who will hold the middle of the park.

Woolery, Roberts and Shields all want to go wide to find space. And aren't as determined to get in the box.

We do need more on the wngs but that is because we are playing 2 fullbacks that cannot cross a ball.
