  1. Completely gutted, really don't see what barnsley can do to help his career, really hope he doesnt become a flop down there though. GOOD LUCK JIM!!!

Without wanting to get into the whole argument about the standard of SPL/Championship but in my opinion, which you may see as biased, the Championship has a higher level of competition than the SPL and boasts some very strong teams, 90% of the teams have better finances and facilities than a lot of SPL clubs so with a push in the right direction I can see us)Barnsley) helping his career at the same time he can help us achieve our goal of finishing midtable/nearer the play offs.

As I said, that is entirely my opinion and I hope it does not come across in anyway disrespectful.

  2. I'm glad we've got him but I'm also sad to see him leave Fir Park. I hope you replace him with someone just as good or better

I'll certainly let you know how he's doing down at Oakwell and how our fans are taking to him, etc.

This calls for a free BFC shirt now!

  3. Just got back and that was a cracking match! Although I'm sure you would've preferred a boring 1-0 win to secure your European place!

I thought O'Brien and Sutton were the two performers for you tonight.

Just a shame about the guy in the Davie Cooper stand in the blue jumper with the red polo shirt on underneath who was racially abusing Giles Coke, offering Graeme Smith outside, calling Craig Brown and old so and so, before being the only tit to try and get on the pitch. Shame he was well into his 40's too.

I hope after that comeback Dundee United do you a favour against Hibs, you certainly deserve it!

  4. I think his wages will be the stumbling block for many clubs trying to get him, although from what I heard he is overrated.

I can't remember whose fans it was, but a few weeks ago he was getting lines of, "does your father know you're shit?" sang at him!

  5. Semmingly he has signed a 3 year deal with Barnsley anyone heard???

It's all over our boards and that. I'm awaiting a text off my gf to confirm it!

I'll be sad to see him leave Motherwell, it'll be good to see what he can do for us though.

I'll have to keep you updated on his performances down at Oakwell if he does sign.

  6. Mulgrew and O'Brien on Robins radar.

Reds boss Mark Robins could be set for a double raid on the Scottish Premier League this summer with Aberdeen’s Charlie Mulgrew and Motherwell’s Jim O’Brien his targets. The pair, both out of contract this summer have played 72 games between them this campaign and both have appeared in the Europa League for their respective e clubs.

Left back/left winger Mulgrew, 24, started his career at Celtic but has enjoyed spells in England with Southend and Wolves. He joined the Dons in 2008 and has netted 10 goals in 80 appearances, including five in 39 this campaign. Right winger O’Brien, 22, also started his career with Celtic in 2005 but made just one appearance in three years at Celtic Park which was punctuated with loan spells at Dunfermline and Dundee United. He joined Motherwell in 2008 and has netted four times in 72 appearances.

The Reds will face competition for Mulgrew however with Newcastle, Cardiff and Huddersfield believed to be keen. Huddersfield actually offered him a pre-contract back in January but it was rebuffed.

  7. I was hoping you'd be at home to Celtic that weekend! That's going to be a nightmare trying to get down to WBA at a reasonable time for our game the next day

I hope you win all your away games to get it right up that shite fixture list!!

  8. Missed Jimbo yesterday. Humphrey showed similar talent in crossing to Moutouakilk

Humphrey's seem to do everything right until it came to his finall ball, he certainly has the pace to trouble any left back.

As for Jim, no idea what was up with him!

  9. :P

Each attempt a disaster, either illness or postponement so far this season, but we'll be back. It's a long trip but we'll make it eventually.

It certainly is a long way, mate. I used to do a similar journey every weekend. My sister no longer lives in Manchester, but our head office is there so next time I'm down I'll have to give you a shout!

  10. Great run and delighted with not just our regular back 5 but the entire team. Many times in a game you see the likes of Lasley and Jennings clearing things from our own box.

I thought Lasley had a good game, he did nothing spectacular, he just cleaned up infront of the defence.

  11. Just in from game. Big Kyle scratched and bit and elbowed and kicked and we still stood tall.

As somebody behind me pointed out in the first half, Kyle was Motherwell's best defender today! The guy is a donkey.

Take nothing away from the defence though, they did look solid with a great 'keeper behind them.

  12. The jinx is over! I've finally seen Motherwell win!

I thought the first 25 minutes you were all over them, and controlled the match. For such a small guy Jamie Murphy certainly held his own, and could've ended up with 4 goals on another day.

Kilmarnock didn't seem interested in playing today, I thought they were very poor.

Good team performance today along with a clean sheet and another 3 points!

  13. I hope Hately and Jennings will extend their contracts. O'Brien may need some convincing since he attracts interest from elsewhere. This is a good test of Brown's managerial skills.

Gannon certainly knew where to go looking for good, available talent. I remember him saying there was a plentiful supply of players down south, good enough for the SPL. If this is the case, I can't see how it can be a big secret. Are Brown and Knox not just as capable of finding more of the likes of Hately and Coke?

I think the difference is Gannon spent a few years in the lower leagues with Stockport and saw these players first hand, week in and week out.

  14.

I think it's best to wait and see it on BBC Alba (coverage starts at 8pm). According to Weeyin it was a shoe in red card, some think it may have been a red card, while others yellow was correct. Always best to see it before trying to decipher the truth... isn't that right weeyin... :D

I'm guessing Miller lunged in which provoked the handbags?

All I could get from the previous posts was the pushing, shoving, and Jim falling on his arse
