  1. Slane-Dogg Millionaire...it's got to be, surely.
  2. With DLS and Fizzy on there way, freeing up another two squad places and wages, can we expect a couple more players in for Perth maybe? I'd expect we must have a fair bit of the budget remaining and would really like a right back and front man in? Felt on thursday with a different option up top to bring on we could have done it. And right back is the only position there is no outstanding candidate to play. I'm glad we ain't rushing the deals but Saints and Killie are two winnable games and be really good to make a strong start. A couple of reinforcements could just be the difference in making that happen
  3. "He's Motherwell's number 8, Jenno! Jenno! He's Motherwell's number 8, Jenno! Jenno! He's Motherwell's number 8, He's small, he's fat, he's fucking great, He's Steven Jennings, Motherwell's Number 8!" Best i could do with the unexotically named signings thus far. Heard the shouts of 'Ruud' were ringing out in Jack Daniels, whenever the keeper touched the ball tonight. It doesn't work but it does kinda, sometimes they're the best yins.
  4. Have heard Fizz is off to Accies.
  5. None for the new boys yet but "Slane, Slane will tear you apart again", same as Giggsy's tune to the Joy Division classic, has been a favourite in the local of late. My best effort, which i've yet to hear sang at a game is this one though: "Jimmy, Jimmy...Jim O'Brien...He loves the Motherwell, gives all those full-backs hell!" To the tune of Sugar, Sugar by the Archies, link here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGL4btEIoTo. Posted it before, still think it's a belter.
  6. What's the betting this was the guy my mate seen earlier. Would certainly make sense, both black and he said he had a kind of Delomeaux look to him. He's had an exclusive and he didn't even know it!
  7. ...tribunal, so no sell on included. Was good to see him at the Llanelli match. Harshly treated towards the end of his time with us but still taking an interest in the team. Best player, ability wise we've had since Faddy. In fact those two with Coop would work a treat in the current formation, just behind the lone striker, that would be dynamite.
  8. A man meeting Kunyake's description was seen outside FP today at lunchtime, talking to Porteous and G.Young. Could he be the wildcard signing or will a new keeper beat him to it? Apparently 'Kunyake' was sporting a rotter of a jumper and dicking about with his phone for much of the time, maybe killing time til the gaffer returned back from training.

    Dazzler

Think a fresh start at a new club or even a season on loan in the first division would be the answer. I heard ITC were keen to maybe take him in January and considering Malpas gave him his chance with us, that could be a good option for him. Seemed totally lost last year but contributed much in 07/08 season and maybe just needs his confidence back, good luck to him whatever happens.
  10. Crags won't go with his testimonial coming up, that would make no sense at all.
  11. With Jimbo already calling for replacements as well as reinforcements I just wondered from the squad he inherited, how many will be in the starting line up come our opening league game at McDermid Park? With what we saw on Thursday it's hard to make a case for many. Two senior players subbed, the captain publicly pilloried and only the youngsters receiving praise it's anyone's guess which way he'll go come August 15. I'll start the ball rolling with five. Those being Hammell, Reynolds, Crags, O'Brien and Slane. No doubt this'll change on an almost daily basis as players are signed and games are played. Look forward to see what folks are thinking on this in any case.

Fair point but I weighed up the squad depth and thought maybe with the full kit to hand next Thursday a spot on the bench might be forthcoming!

Got the new strip yesterday and delighted with the top but the shorts and socks are definitely a shade lighter than it. Just wondered if this was how they are meant to look? As to be honest it looks pretty naff when worn together.
  14. Clarky's become an unassuming hero at the club and through mixed form and a couple of decent sized contracts has now been with us 8 years. With him and Coach only two years off getting testimonials, I don't think we can begrudge them there moves. I think it's a testament to how good our youth system has been over the years, that we could have five players plying their trade in England's top two divisions (Faddy, Pearo, Clarky, Coach, Rossco*). The image of Clarky with the 'Well scarf after the cup game at Tynecastle last year will live long in the memory. Whether out of position or out of the team he's never moaned, just worked harder to get better. Desrves all he get's from the game and all we can do is wish him good luck. *- Know he wasn't ours but wouldn't be where he is just now without us.
  15. As I said earlier, Leitchy with an experienced number two would probably be the prudent choice and best way of keeping the continuity going at the club. Suppose it's all conjecture at the moment but if he does folllow MM (if MM goes at all of course), I think Mio currently doing youth at Celtic might be a good choice if say wee Tommy joined him as a number two. All about 'reigniting the family spirit' you know!
  16. I agree mate, this time last year everyone thought he would go at the end of this season anyway. It's only that his stock has lowered, that the chances of him staying have increased. From a purely monetary standpoint, a decent compensation package and the loss of his hefty salary could help replenish the squad and cover the cost of the pricey pitchwork. I don't want him to go but it wouldn't nessecarily cripple us if he did.
  17. I think the only reason he wouldn't take it, is if he was holding out for a bigger job i.e. Celtic or down south. He may well think though that one good season up there could do that for him too. I wonder if Leitchy would go too, I think him with an old head assistant would be the best way forward. A totally new regime ain't what we need right now.
  18. I'll be honest in saying I'm kind of glad we missed out on those two, not descript guys like that don't exactly get you excited bout the season ahead. I'm sure once Buzz, Bob and Shug are off the wage bill and if Reynolds goes to Forest we'll have a bit more room to manuveur. Mon the Klimpl, big ovation for him tomorrow could help seal the deal!
  19. Wouldn't be overly confident with Fraser and Krysiak as our one and two as neither have looked that convincing. On instinct alone I'd rather we went for the boy from Linfield, let's hope Melly know his stuff and picks us a winner in any case. With Buzz and Marsh before him, I think we've been pretty lucky of late between the sticks. It's only once a diddy is in there we'll fully appreciate that though. On 'the Dazzler' I'd agree that a lower league team would probably be his level. Saw him get the hook after a rotten first half against Hearts in the reserves last week and he looked totally bereft of confidence and a bit out of his depth if I'm honest. Showed last year he can contribute in a good side but when we were struggling this year he was found wanting. I hope missing out on Mackay means Hutchison is given a chance in the first team. He's looked top notch both times I've seen him and he already has the build and presence (much like Hammell when he broke through), that he certainly wouldn't look out of place.
  20. Given the nature of his situation with him returning late into the season, I can see why we've held off but I think now he has definitely proved his worth to the team. Either at centre half or right back he rarely lets us down, time to get him signed up.
  21. Totally unrelated point but does anyone think the soon to depart Bob is sleeping in this picture? http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/index.php?op...&Itemid=132
  22. Anyone think Imrie would be worth a shot at trying to get? Him and JOB on either wing could be quite the combo and maybe as a result we'd see the best of Sutty (noticed he has 11 eleven goals this year, not bad since he's been in and out). Also anyone have any idea who MM was talking about in the Team Talk article, when he said he'd met the player and agent on Friday, deal was looking promising etc. I was thinking it may be Lovell from Falkirk. Sure he's out of contract and if we could keep him fit, I think he'd do a job for us.
  23. I heard Bob was on £1,800 a week and I thought the top outwith him and Hughesy were on £1,400 (the last I'm sure was on the radio at some point). Can't have a go at guys for taking what is offered. What it hopefully means though is that along with Ports's wage off the books and the likelyhood of losing Buzz, we should have a half decent kitty for wages this summer. Surely that along with a handy transfer for Reynolds can help freshen up the squad with players of a decent standard.
  24. Have it on pretty good authority that Reynolds is off to Forest come the summer. Apparently the board wanted to get some cash in for him, not sure the figure were talking but lets hope it at least partially goes on the squad. If he does go, I'm thinking they'll play him at full-back or holding mid as he ain't big enough for centre half in that league (anyone who's seen Parkin at Preston will get my point). I'm sure he'll go on to do well if he does as both will be better suited to him, just a pity our lack of depth has meant we ain't really seen him play either for us. Good luck to him, definitely a talent.

Cheers mate, a few of the lads have down the boozer have liked it but as I don't get go every week now, it's been hard to get it started. I know cossie_mfc is a fan so hopefully he'll do the honours. With a fair few new players coming in the summer, it'll be good to have some new material to work with. Let's hope the Klimp hangs about and we get his album out in time for christmas.
