If that's true then what a rip roaring disaster. Lack of sufficient preparation in mine and most eyes the biggest mitigating factor.
-
Echos on both from start of last season also. Lasley played 2nd half of the season well but the first half of the season he was awful.
-
Just watched the "highlights" of last night... defensive shambles. Stonewall pealty yet again from Lasley.... We actually looked pretty creative and adventurous going forward for the first 60 mins then seemed to resort to long balls yet again... Why was Big Erwin not giving a chance when a unfit ZFA was brought on... Starting to agree with my old an about McCall.... which isnt a good thing...

I actually typed an identical post to that then deleted it as thought I was being harsh but do you know what, was I fuck. It is the same ridiculous pish after every defeat. SMc constantly harps about both the lack of funds and fans making the games...... Doesn't he realise that fans are interested in cup runs etc. I appreciate our league positions and what we have achieved in the league but if I'm honest the way to attract lay/part time fans is always cup runs and we have been a shambles in that regard. Fitness..... Don't even start me... A total fucking embarrassment. We are no fitter than amateur pub footballers who actually work for a living. Everyone talks about how this is a great club to play for and the atmosphere is great. That's because it's an incredibly easy club to play for as the players have an incredibly easy life.

Absolute fucking bollocks!!!!
-
I'm sitting in a pub in Solihull actually being a social fuckwit on my phone staring at updates...... hating this!!!
-
Ojamaa back would be awesome. Really would be exactly what we need, pace, directness and a bit of guile/creativity up top. A signing to excite us fans that's for sure....
-
Re the fitness aspect. McCall himself mentioned in his post match interview that some players will need to up their fitness.... wtf he's the manager and should have had the team prepared by now.
-
Can I also make special mention to set pieces.... both defending and attacking... Attacking:- leaving one defender back, every player in the oppo box, float an outswinging ball in and its knocked away which results in a 3 on 2 break away.... clearly we didnt learn from last year... Defending:- allowing players a free run at the ball and not being physically strong enough to hold players off. We look like conceding regularly.

Ok whats your thoughts on the game..... give me some positivity....

Fuckity fuck fuck and fuck is all I can say. Difficult to know where to start. We began really brightly, sharp passing, creating chances and ainsworth looked like he was going to run riot then..... we stopped.... was this to do with our fitness or our lack of fight, who knows, we just seemed to capitulate. Dont get me wrong I think this is as much down to do with their manager changing tactic and ours not adapting. I'm not overly impressed with McCall tonight... taking off Ainsworth and bringing on Kerr at RM.. deary deary me.... Not just for the two penalties I thought Lasley was really poor tonight, distribution and balance was off. I would have brought Leitch on with 20 minutes to spare, badly needed composure in the middle. Ransden was dragged all over the place and seemed to want to get invloved in wrestling matches rather than concentrate on the game. Why have two 6ft plus strikers and not play a winger is also a bemusement... I'm a big fan of Vigurs and again tonight some of his passing was delightful aswell as creating most of our chances again but his fitness was shocking and dropped after about 60 mins. He also would have been off with young Thomas out wide left to run at them and try and get the ball in the box. Sutton isnt a lone striker and couldnt hold the ball up, Big Erwin done more in 20 mins than Sutton did in the full game and spent half it on his arse. Pass marks for Carswell, Hammell, Vigurs(60mins), Law and Erwin.

No still injured. Only him, Moore and ZFA missing for tonight.
-
Didn't say we weren't lol.... Still fitter than we were last year....
-
I'm usually pretty critical of our teams fitness but at the weekend I thought we looked fitter than normal. Fitter than this time last year anyway.
-
Think you might be right with that one tbh. The thought of Kerr at RM though gives me the fear!!! He's a centre half or right back never a right mid.
-
Tell SMc that. Played him as a lone striker second half. McHugh looked ok, looks to have slimmed right down and had a couple of half chances. But yes our lack of striking options and pace is concerning me
-
Excellant to hear bout Thomas. What bout Erwin, how did he show up? Could he play with Sutton or similar types of player??
-
Good draw.
-
Good shout. Someone create a complete bullshit thread please and thank you.
-
I know, but has he been playing. Last I heard he was warming the bench.

Quite gutted at this news. Anier was becoming a firm favourite in my eyes and was expecting big things this year. Money is a big deal mind you so happy with extra cash in. So Faddy left as Competition was too high for central striker role when we were selling Anier. Moore is long term injured so that leaves Sutton, McHugh, Erwin, Ainsworth up top at a push. I know that SMc is saying he has replacements in mind but anyone think a return for Henrik is on the cards!!

Good stuff. Squad looking almost complete and it's not even July.. Happy days.
-
Great move for the big lad. Gonna miss him but hopefully get a great reception when he's back for the friendly.
-
Haha ma banger even. Bloody phones. I appreciate that Ropy but even then his treatment of the club who gave him a chance, stuck with him through injuries was particularly galling.
-
He can bite an banger. One player I would not welcome back. Great player in his time but he really didn't try a leg when Celtic came calling and he didn't treat us with any respect.
