  1. Have a wee look at this site: http://www.sportmapworld.com/team/soccer/scotland/motherwell/ they even have a poll on Fir Park Stadium and a nice pic of the area: East Stand and the space behind looks to me that we would lose a five a side pitch and the car park at the school that could be incorporated in the rebuilding of the East Stand.
  2. I am sure the Board are working on a report about the future of Fir Park and/or a move to a new site.
  3. Remind me where did Gordon Young go?
  4. Thanks for that..I have been out here too long to really know wtf is happening at a grassroots level. But yeah I see two options: 1. Knock down and rebuild the East / redevelop/upgrade the PoD bearing in mind it will never be the full length of the pitch. 2. Build a brand new stadium at Ravenscraig The Stadium to be called Ravenscraig with the four stands named COOPER, PoD, FIR PARK & LEGENDS Well aware of the cost factors re 1&2 but no matter what we do it will cost, and even though I don't go to games, I cannot see my self going to New Douglas Park or where ever to cheer on my team Motherwell.
  5. Is it just money though? I heard that the NLC and the M&WTC were never friends of MFC when it came for planning permission to rebuild or relocate surely the Ravenscraig site would have been ideal to build there.
  6. I remember we had pages of rebuilding Fir Park even pictures of various stadiums and the moaners saying naw stay where are etc but I couldn't find it...found this though http://www.steelmeno...opic=11219&st=0 I dont want us to have flat pack stadium like St Mirren

  8. Motherwell Chief Executive Leeann Dempster explains events behind today's abandoned match with Dundee United. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCBzimfLrxk
  9. Would Scottish Power reimburse the club? Any lawyers here? and I don't mean barrack room lawyers.
  10. BBC Scotland's Jonathan Sutherland at Firk Park"A hugely disappointing afternoon for both Motherwell and Dundee United. Trouble first became apparent when there was a brief power cut and smoke was seen coming from a corner of the ground. It turned out that the smoke was coming from a generator which had started as a result of a power cut that had hit the local area. "However it was impossible for the club to rely on generator power for the entire duration of the game and when it became clear it would take the power company some time to remedy the situation there was no choice left for Motherwell but to abandon the match."
  11. Motherwell chief executive Leeann Dempster on BBC Radio Scotland: "We are frustrated. The problem is not in the stadium. There has been a major power failure in North Lanarkshire and we've been caught up in that. "We have generators which give us emergency power, to enable us to evacuate the stadium, but it's not enough to run a full match I'm afraid. "The information we've been getting was that they were doing some work to switches but it would be about 6pm. People will say we have form because of the Hibs game, but it's nothing to do with our prep. Supporters will get a ticket allowing them in to the next game."
  12. BBC Scotland's Jonathan Sutherland: "Chorus of booing to announcement at Fir Park saying match between @MotherwellFC and @dundeeunitedfc has been abandoned." Jonathan was also at last season's match at Fir Park that was abandoned when a floodlight went on fire at half-time. He is now barred from the ground...
  13. Are you saying the burning oil is coming from the east stand

  15. as a matter of interest how many fans were there?
  16. The Daily Mail's assertion that Blackburn Rovers are considering replacing Steve Kean with none other than Henrik Larsson! The Swede has been at the helm of minnows Landskrona since hanging up his boots last year and his contract expires at the end of this season, meaning there would be little compensation to pay to bring him to England (there is a release clause of 65 grand, apparently), and that alone should endear him to Venky's, with the fact that he has shown a middling amount of managerial promise during his time at Landskrona being a happy bonus for employers who have never seemed too bothered about such trifles. Other names said to be in the frame for an Ewood Park circus ride are Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, Mick McCarthy, Stuart McCall, Tim Sherwood and Alex McLeish. Aye good one
  17. A left winger? Thought we needed a CM?
