  1. I wasn't trying to suggest that this was the issue this time - sorry if my post looked like that. Just that there had been issues in previous times. The thing is though - I don't have a clue what the issue is. Is it to do with the use of pyro?
  2. I don't know either tbh - they didn't say much at the time but that might have been for legal reasons.
  3. There were some Motherwell fans who said they were targeted by police - subjected to dawn raids around Christmas 2022 and the statement that went out at that time I believe said that this happened with the support of the club. Facilitated in association with Motherwell fc is what the statement said. I'm sure I saw tweets saying some fans were arrested - but that's all I saw around that time.
  4. 625 people voted? That is completely drastic. Its not the fault of the well society but how do you think you are going to put the proposed plan you have into action when people couldn't be bothered voting for new board members. I voted. I'll always exercise that right -but the turnout is concerning. I also think you need to engage the members who don't do social media. Because some dont Particularly people who don't do here or twitter or check their email regularly. Apathy though is a huge issue
  5. I actually will be more than happy to volunteer for the well society going forward and it was something I was planning to do - just before I broke my leg. It's going to be potentially up to a two year recovery - which makes things a bit difficult - but hopefully not impossible. Id also be more than happy to talk to anyone who thinks we might be able to get fans overseas involved and see where we go from there. Am sure the folk who think it's viable could chat over zoom or something similar.
  6. No.. The MFC beer garden 🤣. Club 100 is where I normally go.. I only knew about the one behind the POD stand when someone posted on here.
  7. I was there not that long before kick off, about half one- there were tables with stools but didn't think it was as many as 10/12. Most people were standing as it was fairly busy. That was the first time I had been so didn't know what to expect (it's only because I'm recovering from a fracture that it's an issue - I actually went and sat in the wee garden area).
  8. Motherwell have a you tube channel. Just needs to reach potential fans.
  9. I actually thought you gave a great pitch and I was more than happy to support you. Anyone who wants to try and get Motherwell out there overseas has something worth saying.
  10. I get that but why shouldn't we encourage fans from other countries to get involved with us. Doesn't need to be a global brand. There are a few people on here who live in the US. I think we should be encouraging fans from all over the world
  11. Absolutely. I thought both American candidates were impressive and I would like to think the well society will work with them at some point
  12. Surely if there are Motherwell fans like Chris then there could be other Motherwell fans all over the world. Look at the amount of fans who post on Facebook because of Bevis and the new boy we signed last week
  13. I really think that's something we need to tap into. 🤣. Id would be good to grow our overseas fanbase
  14. Plus points - you don't need to spend a tenner on your card to buy a drink like club 100 but they seriously need seats
  15. Completely this. I would have no issue with voting for someone who didn't agree with me politically. The issue would be if they were racist etc like you said in an earlier post
  16. Yeah. I would vote for someone whose politics were completely opposed to mine as long as they weren't a fascist. There's a line I would draw. I didn't actually vote for Derek as it happens - but I thought he would be re elected and he was. Like I said previously i am very left wing but I speak to people who have completely opposite views to mine. The point is Derek has put his views out there - other people haven't and I think he should have the right to. I think toy drives and food banks are political. People have been driven into poverty by Govt policies - me included Absolutely Im with you on the not giving a toss thing but if someone came out as being a Tommy fan boy - game over - not that I think anyone would. I personally don't think there's anything wrong with being working class and left wing - I am What is ridiculous about this is that anyone who looks at Dereks twitter can see hes got certain political views. I'd say Jay is the same - why is this only an issue now?
  17. I voted for you and honestly I really hope a lot of consideration is given to how we can engage fans from the US.
  18. I just need seats - make it happen Motherwell fc
  19. Also - and this will be the hill I die on. Don't out people like this and plaster their socials all over a forum to try and turn other people against them . (it's horrible)
  20. My political leanings are very left wing - however on social media I talk to many people who's views are completely opposed to mine. Not everyone is going to have their politics slap bang in the centre. If I were standing for the well society board which I wouldn't ever do I really would not want to have to dilute myself on my own social media because my views are a huge part of who I am. Would I vote for a well society board member who was very right wing? No. But other people might - the point is you only know someone's views when they express them There has to be an argument that people can post their own views on their own socials without it being linked to Motherwell football club - or you'll get to a point where people don't stand for election People shouldn't have to be apolitical to be a well society board member Also - if people really do think football and politics dont mix then why do our club and other clubs do toy drives and food bank collections? That all comes from politics - whether we like it or not.
  21. Derek isn't a paid club member though. Cammy also retweeted something in support of Tommy Robinson. I assume that SPL clubs have rules around social media posts - I'd be surprised if the well society do. Otherwise you risk people being censured for posts they are posting on their own social media. (Maybe not explained that very well but I'd be very surprised if someone who was known for being political would stop tweeting about politics just because they are a well society board member)
