  1. With Flow at the helm the band/hoop will certainly not be going away anytime soon from our home kit (assuming the GM has a say on the kit). He was, and hopefully still is a big supporter of tradition.
  2. I think it's a safe bet that you won't see Motherwell wearing a home 'sash' top anytime soon. As for the away/third there is always room for a sash style top to make a reappearance. We seem to have settled on always having the signature claret band/hoop on our home tops for the foreseeable future.
  3. On looking at some Macron kits online, the appear to be in favour of the full on embroidered club badge. I have never been a fan of the sublimated printed style badge as they can at times cheapen the look of a top. Fingers crossed they go down this route (with full nipple protection on the reverse! ). Newport top complete with embroidered badge...
  4. I was thinking maybe at the last home game of the season (half time unveil?). Failing that we will need to wait until late June, early July when they will be officially launched.
  5. A sash is purely a design feature and any connotation to the orange order is just subjective. Our "claret sash" kit is still fondly remembered by Well fans of a certain vintage and to compare it to an "orange sash" is madness.
  6. The "It doesn't bother me who makes our kit." was the top choice, which would suggest that people are not too concerned about who manufactures our kit. Overall I reckon Puma have produced some good kits in their tenure.
  7. The “I would like to see us move to a different manufacturer for the 2014/15 season.” choice came last in the poll. I hope Macron can convince the doubters that they can deliver.
  8. An early replica from around 1973. This one belongs to Fatcalf I think, so I am not sure who made it. Check out the massive collar.
  9. Sounds promising, however, I am not so sure about the claret ribbing under the arms bit.
  10. With Dempster gone, what now for the future of the Well Society?
  11. My personal choice would be a white away with flashes of C&A. However, as long as the kit has some hint of C&A I will be happy. As for the home, I am a traditionalist and have always backed the claret band or hoop. Fingers crossed the kits are not too fussy.
  12. Any news yet on who will be the official kit supplier for next season? I was hoping that this would have been announced by now, or maybe they are waiting to unveil it at the last home game of the season?
  13. The most important thing today is not to lose and hopefully St Johnstone can take all 3 points at Aberdeen.
  14. That top was a belter, however I preferred the 85-87 Umbro version that we wore after this one.
  15. I remember the initial excitement of Ally MacLeod coming to manage Motherwell, however, apart from that it’s a bit of a blur. The official site doesn’t offer much of an insight, and even manages to misspell his surname (maybe that’s a sign).
  16. I will miss this one due to being on holiday in North Wales. I never hope for much against the Old Firm only that we give it a go. A draw is the best that we can hope for, however, I suspect the Celtic forward line will be too strong for our leaky defence. 3-0 Celtic.
  17. Strip designers seem obsessed with flashes and panels on kits and I hope that we get a nice clean, simple, classy kit free of these embellishments. Some C&A on our away kit would also be nice.
  18. The Accies kit was part of the Nike teamwear range. Celtic will be the only team in Scotland who deal directly with a major manufacturer. All the rest feed off the big boys template scraps via team wear suppliers. I think Hearts had a direct deal with Umbro as they saw an opportunity to latch on to the publicity surrounding Mad Vlad. We are fortunate in as much as Puma/Genesis Sport supply us with a bespoke claret band/hoop printed onto a standard Puma template. Hopefully whoever produces next seasons kit will offer this service. We need to remember that very few team wear suppliers offer C&A as standard.
  19. Almost no chance of getting adidas on board, however, I reckon Umbro could have been a possibility as they attempt to put their stamp back on the UK kit market. Until we hear anything different, the rumour mill has Macron as odds on favourite for the gig. Fingers crossed that they come up with some decent designs.
  20. Back on topic. I wonder when can we can expect an official announcement of who will be supplying our kit next season? It would great if we released some pics of the designs before the last game of the season. Also, is the prospect of Macron producing our kit putting the fear into anyone yet? They have produced some belters, however, they have also released some shockers. In saying that at least no one has linked us with Warrior yet.
  21. You can always rely on Andy to put it all into perspective. Yesterday was frustrating, however, what’s done is done and we move on to the next game. Hopefully we can get some players back fit and well for that one.
  22. The madness of Ebay, the latest one sold for about £30 including p&p. The one previous sold for £100 including p&p. Even at £30 the guys profit is huge.
  23. The recent XL version doesn’t appear to be attracting the same interest. With around 6hr’s to go it is only reached £26.15 + £5 p&p. When all the excitement dies down he will be forced to sell them for 99p + £5 p&p (then I might just be tempted buy one).
  24. I am not sure if the guy is employed by Motherwell to do these designs, however, I would be very surprised if he is doing them for nothing. They have been created using photoshop and possibly with some help from adobe illustrator/indesign. I use photoshop on a daily basis and know the time that it can take to produce this stuff. He is clearly influenced by vintage travel posters from the 1930s/40s/50s. As a lover of all things retro I think they are superb.
  25. I have just remembered the guys name, it’s Alastair Reilly and he is from Carluke.
