  1. The design and typography are superb. I think the guy that does them is a young graphic designer from the Carluke/Lanark area. (unfortunately I can’t remember his name) He clearly has a talent for poster design.
  2. The last I heard Big Foot was spotted wearing one. In the early days old kit was either ditched or used as training gear. Clubs today are more aware of the value of club memorabilia and usually sell it on ebay to raise money for things like youth development. A few players from that era would have been allowed to keep the shirts, however, I would imagine the majority of kit would have been left with the club. I know the kit man at Motherwell has a large selection of match worn tops, he just might have one in his collection.
  3. And that’s all that matters. I hope you didn’t pay £100 for it?
  4. The XL version is already standing at £26.15 and is well on it’s way to making this ebayer another £100. I’m in the wrong business.
  5. He certainly won't be cooking meals for a while, as he will be eating out in the finest restaurants courtesy of Motherwell fans. Safe to say that he will be making a few more.
  6. Originals will set you back at least £100+. This guy now thinks he has hit the jackpot as similar fake adidas shirts regularly sell on various online sites for just £12 + £5.10 P&P. To get a £100 has just made him a huge profit on a shirt that will have been made for buttons. I salute him and his sweatshop.
  7. Mental, it went for almost £100 including p&p. A licence to print money. I sincerely hope no one on here paid that kind of money for this fake shirt.
  8. It’s hard to tell the quality of the item from a pic (stitching ect), however, they are only worth about £12 and are probably made for around £1. I still think it’s very odd that they are even bothering to make this shirt. Although, I notice that the same ebayer is selling a fake Dundee United 1979 league cup shirt as well.
  9. Currently standing at £30 + £5 p&p, I should have had these produced for a £1 each in a Thai sweatshop years ago.
  10. No problem, if you do just let me know which one you want to use.
  11. Any shirts shipped from Thailand will be fake. I doubt whether many original shirts have survived from the time and if they did they will have a squad number on the back. I know that at least one original exists, however, what happened to the rest your guess is as good as mine. It will be interesting to see the quality of these shirts as it is difficult to judge from a picture. Early adidas/Admiral/Hummel fake shirts usually sell for about £12 - £15 online. Edit: I just noticed that Mad Dog is based in Thailand. Are you faking these shirts?
  12. I think I am more excited than you about it’s arrival. At least it’s coming from the UK and not some far away place. If it’s a fake report the seller to Ebay for selling dodgy gear. There are retro adidas collectors online who can spot a fake a mile off and they would be more than happy to tell you if it’s genuine or not.
  13. You’ve found me out Weeyin, it’s just one of my photoshop mock ups.
  14. Exactly! The one thing in your favour is why would anyone choose to fake a Motherwell adidas shirt? Early adidas shirts from Man Utd, Nottingham Forrest, Liverpool are faked all the time, Motherwell not so much.
  15. I am glad you did as either way it is a fascinating find. I really hope it’s the real deal as they are rarer than rare. I have only ever seen one in the flesh once since the early 80’s and that had a squad number on the back (it must have come directly from a player or club employee from the time). Fingers crossed it’s authentic, as early shirts that weren’t commercially available are certainly classed as club holy grail items.
  16. The MFC script on the original was relatively small. Without boring you and myself with the details surrounding it the one on your shirt looks like the very rough version that I drew around 2001/02. My graphic was freely available on the web and could have been easily used by anyone. I redrew it properly for our 125 retro shirt, however, the version used in your online auction shirt is certainly not the same as that later MFC graphic. The thick yellow seam around the collar also looks a bit odd and is not consistent with photos from the time. The big question is why anyone bother to fake/produce a Motherwell shirt from the early 80s? Anyway let me know what the label says inside the collar as you can usually get clues from that to judge whether it is an original or not. Ps: it looks similar to the fake 80's adidas shirts that are produced in Thailand. You can buy them online for around £12. They usually have no manufacture labels on the inside. Also genuine Motherwell adidas shirts from that time will more than likely have a claret squad number on the back of the shirt. Nottingham Forrest 1980 fake retro jersey
  17. Frazzle is it a copy? The MFC logotype looks far too big on your version compared to pictures from the time.
  18. That’s a belter Frazzle, Weeyin will be more jealous than me! So where did you buy it?
  19. Do tell! Whatever it is I will be happy and jealous at the same time. Lol
  20. Although there has been no official confirmation Macron appear to be odds on to be awarded the best kit gig in Scottish football. Due to us still being under contract to Genesis Sport/Puma until the end of the season, I very much doubt we will hear anything until then. Whoever gets it I hope that they give us an away kit with at least some hint of claret and amber in the design.
  21. At least we could say that we were knocked out by the eventual winners.
  22. It’s also good to know that he is hurting as much as the fans at our lack of cup success. Roll on next season.
