It’s a fashion trend, these things tend to come and go and are usually led by the big brands and others follow suit. This has happened for years.

Yes the brain is a funny thing and it tends to interpret images down to a more recognisable subject matter. A battle steamer is a more common subject than perhaps a steelworks scene. I mocked up an adapted the crest a few years ago which I copied from a closer steelworks image, but the adaption was too radical for some.

Believe it or not the drawing is apparently based on an actual view of the Steelworks from an old photograph. The original scene had been ‘rotted’ over the years and has only now been ‘cleaned up’. Certainly 100% better than we had.

I’ve campaigned for years for a redraw and I’m very happy with the newly updated crest. The ‘battleship steamer’ has gone and the crest has been reunited with the Steelworks landscape. Well done to all involved in this subtle improvement.

Early days but we look really disjointed and probably in some peoples eyes clear bottom six candidates. We look like a team of misfits cobbled together in a panic.

St Johnstone are a very good side, however, if we approach the game in the correct manner we have a chance to get all three points.
Even this early I’m wary of teams taking bonus points off the Old Firm and so far Hearts and Dundee United have done just that.
