No, we can’t afford this kind of ready made technical player. However, you can sometimes get lucky with the occasional promising youth player coming through if you can hang on to him for a short while. Or a loanee who has lost their way in the game and are trying to reestablish themselves.

Without a shadow of doubt Celtic fans will have snapped up tickets for our end as they were easier to get hold of. This is their chance to win a double treble and I’m pretty sure they will want to be there if it happens. However, it won’t, and we will have the pleasure of seeing them sneak out at the final whistle after we’ve pumped them.

We have, however, I think we received less money in the deal. Maybe someone with more knowledge of the club financial side can clarify that.

Sponsors logos are a bugbear of mine and I see Juventus fans have started a petition to get the club and Jeep to change the way their logo looks on the front on the shirt. Will fan power prevail?

So I assume that any new kit launch has been postponed until after the final. I can understand if there is a new deal waiting in the wings as it would effect our current shirt sponsor who appear to have had a good relationship with the fans and the club. Just a shame that there will be no with no embroidered tops for sale just like 1991.

I do prefer our tops to have a slightly wider hoop/band as it integrates it more into the design rather than it just being an advertising space. For what it’s worth, similar to Celtic I would insist on a proper hoop every time.

I’m sure I’ve mocked this up before, however, here’s a very, very quick mock up of the current Middlesbrough home and away in C&A. Very 1960’s.

Apart from the pre season 92-93 squad picture I don’t recall seeing a formal picture of the cup final winning team with the cup. If anyone finds one I would love to see it.

Graphically speaking I’m not 100% convinced their branding is suited to being the main shirt sponsor any way. In my opinion the last decent looking logo we have had was Ian Skelly or Motorola. I detest betting/loan/pawn shop type sponsors as they cheapen the look of the shirt. However, if they offer us a shed load of money I will welcome them with open arms.

Their corporate colours are blue, so unless they allow us to reverse their branding out in white we could be stuck with an ugly ‘patched’ logo. I seem to remember Zoom Airlines having an issue with this.

Exactly what I had suggested. A perfect fit, however, it’s all down to money and who offers the most.

I agree. I can only think that they might have a few ‘Celtic minded’ family members.

I was hoping there might be a new kit unveil tomorrow with it being the last game of the season. However, everything appears to have gone quiet on the new kit front.

I notice our season ticket promo video was filmed at Liberty Steel, are they a potential new sponsor? or am I putting two and two together and making five? It would certainly be an appropriate sponsor.

It would be a shame if our players lost out by not having player-fit shirts. Professionals need professional gear to possibly give them an extra edge. I wonder what their opinion is on our current shirt if it isn’t player-fit and just a bog standard replica?

We all know we are rank outsiders, however, If we are pish in the final but still win it, I won’t be giving a toss. I would rather play badly and win, than play well but ultimately still lose.
