  1. Entertaining Stephen McManus interview...
  2. Is that not what we have at the moment? If not, do the fans and the players wear the same gear?
  3. No I would never do that. Updating shirts to a more modern collar or tailoring them to a present day look would be the extent of my ‘modern twist’. For what it’s worth I wasn’t a fan of our recent ‘denim’ away shirt shirt, however, I do accept the trend for adding faux texture to a design has become popular. I suspect this textile treatment will be a fad and it won’t be long before designers revert back to the tried and tested look. Umbro have been one of the few companies who have championed the classic look and long may that continue.
  4. You need to move with the times Weeyin or you would just be constantly producing the same stuff over and over. I believe subtly is the key when paying homage to classic tried and tested deigns. Design experimentation is for third kits.
  5. Hopefully Macron and PSL won’t let us down. There was a saying that was I think attributed to Roy Keane. He once said “Good teams don’t wear bad kits”. To certain extent this is true as having a professional looking kit can psychologically increase a sides confidence and makes the other team know that they are in for a tough game. Sponsorship also plays a part in making a team look professional. A team without a professional looking kit or a cheap looking loan shark sponsor is viewed as less of a threat by the opposition. I agree. It becomes classic for a reason as certain design elements will always stand the test of time. All that is required is for designers to do a modern twist on tried and tested designs and generally that will please the majority of fans and players.
  6. Howling yes, however, he is still their top goal scorer this season with 15 goals. Worth noting that Louis Moult is still our top goal scorer this season with 8 goals.
  7. Any news on who our new sponsor will be? Please no online betting or loan companies.
  8. Ah okay, I had assumed that we were still going with McEwan Fraser for next season, however, if we are changing our shirt sponsor I can see why the new kit won’t be worn in the final. On the subject of the new home top I’m personally hoping for a modern take on our 60s signature kit. It’s been a while since we have had a classy home shirt free of fussy trims. I’m also hoping for a slightly bolder claret band/hoop than we have had recently as I feel that the narrower band is starting to become more of an advertising space rather than an integral part of our kit history. The Macron template that I used for my preferred away top design would also present us with an opportunity to produce a simple but stylish traditional home shirt.
  9. So I’m hoping that our new home and away kits will be revealed at our final home game of the season. I assume we will be wearing it at the final?
  10. I got offered my mates season book for this one, he’s a Thistle fan and can’t make it. I have politely declined for if we take another thumping like Saturday I wouldn’t know what to do. Personally I hope Thistle stay up and if we had won on Saturday I could have accepted a narrow defeat in this one, however, I think we need to get ourselves back on track leading up to the final.
  11. I thought the Ref at todays hearts match had a good performance. He let Hearts off with a few meaty tackles. One negative he did chop off a perfectly good Hearts goal in the first half.
  12. He’ll outlive us all in Fergie Time.
  13. Good to see Hearts having a go at Celtic in this afternoons game. Currently H.T. and it’s 1-1 and they are unlucky not to be 2-1 up as they had a perfectly good goal chopped off.
  14. That was Uri ‘spoon bending wank’ Geller’s fault.
  15. Brian McClair has tweeted this picture of him and Sir Alex.
  16. I did see that on Twitter, I hope he pulls through.
  17. Thank god for that as we might have lost by more.
  18. I gave it to Bowman, as he appeared to be the only one who looked sort of up for it. The rest should be embarrassed.
  19. I said the very thing to my mate at the game. It certainly wasn’t the best way to go about promoting it to anybody swaying on shelling out £30+ to go to the match rather than watching it on council telly. I’m a Motherwell masochist so at least I have an excuse.
  20. I’m just back and I thought we were dreadful from start to finish. If we play like that on May 19th it will be a cricket score.
  21. I seem to remember that and it may come back to bite him in the arse.
  22. Exactly, injuries can happen at anytime and we can’t wrap players in cotton wool until the final. Come the big day we will just need to use whoever is match fit.
