That is the only conclusion I can come to as he never ordered a re-take. Even reffing 2 pub teams on a Sunday you learn to never EVER turn your back to the ball/play, nothing good can come from it. Either linesman should have seen what happened and told him over the blower it should be re-taken. Actually delaying the start of play is in itself a cautionable offence. As for the sending off, he'll report it either as "Violent Conduct" in that Jenning's hand tapped him on the shoulder..or..Foul & Abusive Language which is a red card offence. Problem with that is the interpretation of what is F&A. If a player shouted or said to me in passing "You're a fkking cheat" then I would definately send him off, no question. Frustrating night all round.

Deja vu all over again. Just when ye think you've seen it all, something like this hits ye atween the whatsits. Nae use trying to fathom the "why", only Broon and Know can answer that one and I personally feel I have no right to pry into what their salary & conditions were at Fir Park or will be at Sheep Central. Other than that, what can Milne have promised them? Same "investment" that McGhee got? Aberdeen like most clubs are on their knees financially and they cannot seriously achieve anything higher than 3rd in the league (but not this season) and an occasional cup final. I am hoping and have faith in Craigan ensuring the players stay focused while the search for a manager is on. I am not one of those who prefer any new manager is a "Motherwell man", I really don't think that's important. Looking for someone who has some experience with the drive and ambition to take the club forward. People come, people go. The fans remain.

I read somewhere we live in a democracy, so I thought I'd wade in with my 2 denaris worth: I'm a lifelong dosser and a referee, currently reffing youth games Sat/Sun U14-U19's. As I like to say to both sets of players and coaches before every game, even though ah'm fae Craigneuk, I do make mistakes now and again. My promise to them is to be up with play as best I can, get myself into the best position for play and call it as I see it. If I get all the major decisions right in a game, I've done well. Occasionally even the losing team's coach will come over and shake my hand and say I had a good game. More often than not, I'm an easy and convenient scapegoat for their loss. For £30 a game, I certainly don't do it for the money. I do it cos I love football and living away from Lanakrshire now it's hard to get to Fir Park and pay £18-£22 every other week, with 3 kids you have other priorities. My last game was the Odense match. Now, onto the current crisis: Personally I would immediately instigate a rule where no-one from any club should be making any comments about referees before or after a game to the media. That means coaches, players, chairmen...anyone. Nothing positive can ever come from these comments. You may think that puts us down there with a North Korean dictatorship but it's a censorship price worth paying. Conversely, I'd like to see the referee, if asked, to make a brief on-camera appearance 30-60 mins after the game to answer up to 3 questions the interviewer may have. For example, after Tannadice-gate, the interviewer would surely ask "Why did you change your mind about the penalty Dougie?". If Dougie would have then said "I immediately realised I'd made a mistake, so checked with the linesman and he concurred so I re-started play with a stoat-up" than all would have been well. Except for Lennon's tantrum on the touchline of course. We have this so-called 'Respect' campaign but with the level of dissent it is entirely meaningless in my opinion. Why is there no dissent in other sports like rugby, NBA basketball, American Football to name a few? There's far more money in play in the US sports but there's no dissent. I do not believe Officials in other sports are not liable to make a mistake, just like when the striker misses an open goal or a defender fails to clear his lines, we're all human. Without the human chaos in sports it'd be oh so dull and predictable and no-one would want that. A line needs to be drawn. I am wondering if Dougie MacDonald will still be refereeing senior football in the new year. I can only guess he may have thought seriously about resigning if it would serve the greater good of the game for him to be offered as the sacrificial lamb given his self-confessed un-truth in how he came to his (correct) decision not to award a penalty. Dougie's words affects all referees even down at my level. Trust is wee word with huge consequences and that is missing from our game right now but I go to my next game on Saturday with optimisim and hoping to see some skillfull players. Oh aye, and my ambition has always been to be at Fir Park when the announcement is made "would any qualified referee make yourself known", ah'd be doon that touchline like a rat up a drain pipe. ps. I do NOT want to see any foreign referees brought over for any Scottish league matches, we need to sort this mess ourselves.

Very frustrating as a fan and customer trying to book tickets here. For whatever reason, there appears to be no facility to book tickets online. We were able to do so for Aalesund match. Go figure. Suggestion to the club: get a viable telephone handling system. When calling and pressing option 2 for tickets, all you get is "Please wait a moment" followed by dead air. The call should be queued and the customer ideally be told what position in that queue they are. There is nothing worse for a customer to have no idea what is happening. For the recording to continually loop back to the main menu after selecting an option is unacceptable. I entirely understand the limited resources which may be at the club's disposal but come on, don't make it difficult for a fan to buy tickets! When I did get through after 11 minutes of re-dialling and pressing 2's, I was then told I could not even find out if certain seats are available....grrrrrrr. Imagine calling any box office to be told they cannot help you in finding particular seats. Totally pissed off at the way the club I love is making it difficult to get tickets here. We don't all live a 3 minute walk away from the ground. Come on 'Well, we can do so much better than this. You should never take your fans for granted.
