  1. Have they actually got someone there for Open All Mics? Haven't heard anyone.
  2. Was thinking same last week, are we the only top division side yet again with no-one from Radio Scotland present? I really like the Open All Mics programme, it's innovative and informative but they have reporters at for example St.Mirren v. Edinburgh City and Dumbarton v. Peterhead. Seems like they're basing this on georgraphical rather than quality of the teams.....poor show.
  3. He's human he's 37 in September. Can't expect him to play every game surely?
  4. Don't know if it's same game but remember when Hearts came to Fir Park middle of winter season they almost won the league 85/86. John Reilly (for it was him) fired us into the lead, yes he really did. Then Ian MacLeod left back slipped on the dodgy surface and they equalised and they went on to win 3-1 as I mind.
  5. I'm the same as I was as a wean, I just want Motherwell to win football games.
  6. Yeah, is it not the case that the referee saw it and saw nothing amiss therefore it cannot be reviewed by the TV Beaks at the SFA?
  7. Yes they are , showed it repeatedly saying has to be red.
  8. Yeah, did not realise he had dislocated his shooder. Was at Tynecaslte when Kirkie famously saved a penalty and we came back from 2-0 doon there.
  9. Man can land a craft on a moving comet millions of miles away but BBC can't employee ONE reporter and stream commentary on a league game? How do they get away with this level of "service"?
  10. An entertaining discussion and when talking about the Well winning the cup soon after he left. The question should be asked about his emotions playing for Morton against us in the quarter final. Did JG not in fact score one of their penalties in the shoot out?
  11. Footballers, even in junior football may get a sign-on fee, in business people get a "golden hello", same thing really. An initial payment over and above salary to go with a new employer.
  12. Correct. Always amazes me people somehow think professional football for some unfathomable reason is beyond the reach of the law in terms of violent conduct or employment law or anything else for that matter. Not a lawyer but I defo presume UK and EU Employment law applies to footballers' contracts. Why wouldn't it?

    Sportscene

I'd go as far to say Sportsound on R.Scotland is excellent and has been for some years. TV coverage poor to say the least. Show highlights Sat night 10.30pm then show MOTD...simples.
  14. The Dundee Utd cup game at Tannadice 2-1 down into injury time. Big Softie fires home an equaliser after a penalty box stramash. Cue unparalled joy and mayhem in the enclousure celebrating. Course we lost midwek replay 0-1 as is our want.
  15. Ah mind that gemme as was in the Main Stand which was unusual for me. Was covered by Sportscene (remember the days 1 game on Sportscene and 1 on Scotsport?) think we won 3-2, Cooper slipped a great ball through to the on-rushing Arnott who smashed the ball home. Same game I think Cooper won a penalty as he tried to skim past 2 Utd defenders then gave a fist-pumping YESSSS to the Well fans just yards away on the terracing.
  16. Radio last night explained any other football association is "expected" to uphold any ban imposed here but apparently not legally binding.
  17. My mate and I both called ticket office within an hour of tickets going on sale. Picked him up yesterday and got to the ground, he was couple of seats behind me in POD. So we thought. He then shouts over "I'm in the wrong stand" (he's not a regular and is easily confused) Sure enough, his ticket clearly says "Davie Cooper Stand". I'm thinking security guy outside turnstile checked ticket as did guy at turnstile...how did he get in??
  18. As a wise man once said: "Andy Cameron, Jim Traynor, Chick Young & Jim White....your team took a HELLUVA beating......."
  19. Peter Lawwell will be praying for Rangers tae win. He might have a saver of a tenner on us to hedge his bets
  20. All I ask is that the current on-pitch custodians of the club put a shift in. I can't run for them, pass or tackle for them. Wish I had that privilege. I was at our last 1st Division game up at Forfar last day of 84/85 season, really hoping not to see another lower league game for the longest time. Up the Dossers.
  21. I am a qualified referee and can confirm you won't find anywhere in the laws of the game where it will say a player from one of the sides cannot challenge for a drop ball. Thompson is trying to apply "law 18" common sense to get himself and linesman out of a problem they themselves created. If the ball was anywhere in the middle of the park when Thompson blew for the goal you can be sure the dropped ball there would have been contested by both sides. Would Thompson have booked Pearson if he refused to back away....hmm?? Oh and yes, on another day we'd have had 2 penalties in the first half.
  22. FWIW Barra interviewed after game and said ref explained to him linesman shouted "play", Thompson thought he said "goal" so signalled for it. Linesman must at that point have told him his advice was lost in translation.
  23. The sheep don't like it up 'em Couldney make it cos a family commitments. wiz parked at Pollok Country Park listening tae wireless when THAT goal went in...absalute mugnificance Well done Well & good on youse who made it up there. Wiz gon mental when they said only 1 min a injury time....canny wait tae see dons fans' faces claiming free kick taken fae wrang place. Only wan hing tae say tae them....DEAL WAE IT In Dosserdom we trust.
  24. Same masel & embdy at this gemme wid never forget it. If ah remember it right, big Paterson actually hud a heider at 2-2 that went jist past the post for whit woulda capped a truly great comeback. Aye makes me think a big Psycho's (Greame Forbes) effort inches past against Celtic in 85 semi 5.45 into this clip
