I had a go at Celtic fans for their mad reaction to Brendan leaving but I have to say I prefer a heid's gone reaction to the pretend not bothered, too cool, laid back reaction many seem to like to show.

Ah right ok. They way you constantly referenced it I thought they had signed on again. As if there were some dirty deeds afoul Pretty sure their contracts had all but run out so it's not as if they were favoured over Hastie or Turnbull. There was also 12 months of a difference in the expiry date. Infact I am not sure what the comparison is. Some players will be shit/not good enough. It's the standard. I haven't really seen enough of either to know if they justified their 1 year deals. I was never impressed by either in the very small parts they played.

I reckon if you wanted to you could find loads of examples of guys who ended up in all possible outcomes. Out the game. Lower league. Decent level and the few who bettered themselves massively.

I don't think you can make that decision for them. I don't see it being a giant leap that plenty pros would rather have won something or played more for the sake of a few quid.
