  1. Shame we can't draw the Latvian team, if they get through, as they are unseeded to. Flights to Riga from Prestwick were about £45 return last year and travel in Latvia is SO cheap. Slovakia or Serbia anyone?
  2. I work on from 11am on Saturdays and from 4pm on Sundays, so I don't get to see the team that often. I was really looking forward to seeing us play Celtic at home, at a time I could watch the game. For the first time ever, I didn't go. I looked at the cost of two adult tickets, what I would spend when at Fir Park, and travelling to and from Glasgow. With little change back from sixty or even seventy quid, I could put the money to better use. It's the first time I have ever questioned spending money seeing my team, when I don't get to see them every Saturday, it makes getting the chance a bit special. But it costs a lot, far too much, in the current financial climate.
  3. Forbes burst into the team quite a few seasons ago and looked a real talent. Since then I have never seen him look interested.
  4. This is a great topic. In my time there have been a few players. Brian Martin - although he got a few caps and was in the initial France 98 squad with Nicky Walker, the keeper that had been relegated with Partick, if I remember, he was a great defender and players like Alan McLaren at Rangers were first pick on the Scotland team. Chris McCart - how he never got a cap only Craig Brown knows. Paul Lambert - I know he was capped at 'well, but should have featured ahead of players like McStay. Lambert didn't even become a regular for Scotland whilst at Dortmund, winning the Champions League. It was only when moved to Celtic was he first pick. Steven Hammell - I think that the Beri Vogts reign left a lot of players without deserved caps, but surely Hammell deserves a lot more. When I see average players like Fox getting capped it still annoys me. Steven Pearson - Should have been capped while at Motherwell. Exciting talent back then.
  5. All I can say is that I can't wait until Sunday! x
  6. It is a disgrace that Hammell does not have a shed full of caps when you look at some of the other players to have played frequently for Scotland.
  7. I really hope we will do it. This is the worst Celtic team in years. Hutchison and Higdon to score....
  8. The Sportscene coverage is pitiful. Full stop.

    Faddy

I know his dad is a massive Celtic fan, and would love his boy to play for the club, but I think the story is a piece of Celtic propaganda. Celtic have been woeful this season and still lie in third place, despite spending millions over the last two seasons. To sign a proven international, with iconic status in Scotland, on a free transfer, just as things are getting really difficult for Lennon is a perfect piece of PR spin for Celtic. If he does sign it will be until the end of the season and he'll be off again!
  10. Watched Colin Nish tonight. I think I'd allow Higdon to shag me now, in a 'well shirt of course.
  11. I've witnessed some outstanding talent in the shirt, especially McFadden. Been a victim of watching crap too, McLeish is the offender for this really. Well, expensive crap with him. I just hope the new young players progress the way that Phil, Lambert, McFadden, Ross McCormack and the others that have slipped from my head, have done in the past. What a season so far. Never mind Rangers Lennon, we are still above you. Oh, and how much did you spend on that team of garbage?
  12. He is being implicated in a case of fraud, which is a criminal charge in the UK, regardless of the country.
  13. I take it, if he's out, then he hasn't been charged. It does seem strange that this should surface months after the event.
  14. If he is arrested in Scotland, the police have twelve hours in which to charge him, or release him, pending further enquiries. If the police have taken him down south for questioning, then his solicitor will get a much easier time getting him out the cell!
  15. All very odd, especially as Wayne Rooney's father has been arrested as well.
  16. Unless the table is wrong, we are a point above Celtic. This is the Celtic that have spent millions under Lennon. We also have two first team defenders out injured. Me - well I'm pretty happy with McCall. Some of us remember McLeish and his foray into the transfer market. Maybe I'm just getting old?
  17. If he manages 15 for the season then that justifies his place against all the pathetic posts on this thread.
  18. I'm just glad that we kept hold of Jennings. Between him and Lasley we've got one of the best midfield partnerships in the league.
  19. Did playing on the left wing do any harm for a certain Thierry Henry in his youth at Monaco? Murphy has the speed and technique to damage defences from wide.
  20. Articulate and straight to the point. Delivering an honest show the way he did in his playing days.
  21. Let us hope there is more to come from McHugh. Great option to have on the bench.
  22. Murphy is out of sorts and Higdon will get us at least 20 goals before the end of the season. Ok, I hope he does! Good to see McHugh hit the net though.
  23. Some of the abuse from the East Stand has been going on for years. In Butcher's time the abuse levelled at Shaun Fagan was nothing less than shocking. Never a player who merited the shirt, in my opinion, but we should still back who is on the park. Saying that, the East Stand is one of the best places in the world for banter and atmosphere. Close to the pitch and a hardcore of passionate fans, unlike the muppets that spend - who knows how many grand - for Ibrox and Parkhead to sit half a mile from the pitch. I've always thought the family stand was a bit like a morgue the few times I've sat there. I know I may get slaughtered for that comment.
  24. Got to agree with Shaka there. There has to be questions asked, given the lack of commitment shown over the last matches.
