McCall's early signing of McManus is probably a reasonable indicator that his focus is on Motherwell for next season. Obviously that could change in the next couple of months but I'd imagine that during contract negotiations he'd be assuring players of his own intentions.

yeah... clubs would also feel less obliged to play him and he would potentially need to fight his way into a new team signing on a free, he may possibly sign another deal and keep himself in the shop window rather than start fresh at another club.
Isn't the point of putting yourself in the shop window just so you ultimately get the chance to start fresh at another club?

Just heard from a source within the club that there's no contract to sign because there's a big queue for the printer and the only admin burd that knows how to clear it has been off with the shits all week. At least that's what she says as she was spotted in Boots on Saturday with a basket full of factor 8 and NOT Imodium as you might expect.

This is actually getting on my tits much more than Nicky Law signing for them. What's the point in a transfer embargo when they can sign free agents on pre-contract agreements and even parade them? What a fucking joke.
As for Nicky Law, none of us know what offers he had or why he made the choice he did so it's difficult to criticise without knowing the facts. He does however appear to have made his decision quite early.

Well deserved but think McCall should have won manager of the year. To run Celtic as close as he has this season including beating them twice on a tiny fraction of the budget they have is a massive achievement.

Great performance, outstanding result. Arse totally collapsed for the last 10 minutes but the team held out and, thankfully, so did my hoop. As others have said, McFadden was brilliant given he's barely kicked a baw in 2 years.

Nipped into the ticket office last thing tonight. Just a handful of tickets left in the east & Cooper and they were restricted view so took a gamble on waiting for south stand tickets getting released. You won't be able to pick your seat in the south stand though, it'll be filled from front to back, section by section. Seems a bit daft putting the away fans in the south stand as the section above them can't then be used.

The worrying aspect of attracting 'new fans' is that we may well find larger home crowds when we're playing Celtic. The hordes of bigots won't just disappear and will still be looking for any opportunity to get it right up their traditional rivals. Clubs like ours could well end up with hordes of these c*nts singing their lovely songs with impunity as it's not their club who will get punished for it.

I hate all this returning hero pish, whether it's as a player or a manager. If McFadden did sign a short term deal (and it's a huge if, this story was in the fucking Sun) he would likely be a shadow of the player we sold to Everton, the scapegoat-lovers would soon get on his back once they realised he wasn't better than Ronaldo and it would all turn to shite. It's a bit like going back out with an old burd who was hot as fuck in her day and finding out her tits have gone all saggy and she's got hideous stretch marks and a fanny like a yawning hippo after 3 kids.
There's no better way to destroy your hero status at a club.
