  1. 3-0 to Hearts Aberdeen now 100% bottom of the SPL
  2. I echo what most folk have been saying, in a matter of a day, has went from hero to zero. Even thought he may not have had a written contract, it wasnt that long ago that he said "We've committed for the next 18 months at Motherwell, thats pleasing for us and the club." BBC Website, 4th Feb 2010. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ell/8497650.stm C'mon Hearts, pump 10 past the Don's this afternoon
  3. No, no no!!! Ye canny have a 'Well shirt with the word Airdrie on it. Just disnae go. And as for the diamond design. Thats just taking it too far with the similarity of the Airdrie Top.
  4. Granted the past few games havent been Hateley's best, but does anybody else agree that we have played better defensively when he has been playing at right back?
  5. we never got 4th, but take consolation that we aint Falkirk. Or even worse, Airdire
  6. So near yet so far, thats Motherwell for you. However, Well done to every Motherwell player who has pulled on the Claret and Amber this season. Its been well and truly that roller coaster we keep talking about and after all the summer moves, many of us were hoping just to avoid relegation. To end up 5th and a great chance of being in Europe again is fantastic. I agree 5th place and being in Europe will be better as it should give us an easier game to start with rather than one of the bigger teams to begin with. (Just hope the Shitbees get well and truly humped in the 1st game they play). Thanks you to JOB, Lukas, Ruddy and Mark and best wishes with the rest of your career. Now how do we sue John Gilmour for that offside (not) decison in Feb? He cost us big time in terms of league placings and the dosh that goes with it. (Not to mention his marginal offside today the the 1st half :-) )
  7. Disagree. Remember 1991. We had a Cup Final to look forward to and be beat Rangers 3 nil with a full strength team when Rangers were looking to wrap up the league. We were being professional to the other teams, Aberdeen especially since they also had a chance to Win the league
  8. all over, Nish just scored a 2nd goal
  9. 20 mins left, we can get 3 goals in that time. The Duke with a hattrick.
  10. YYyyyyyyaaaaaaassssss!! Well done Murph!!
  11. 45 minutes of our season left. C'mon 'Well, get into them!!!!!
  12. looks like we'll need to rely on Dundee United coming back this afternoon now. 'Mon United, bang in 2 goals for us. Unless the mighty Well can produce another comeback like Wed night.
  13. Gilmour owes us one big time. Could he no just have let that one go in and keep his flag firmly stuck up his a***.
  14. Its no oor day so far. 1 - nil down, Hibs 1 - nil up and Fecking Gilmour running the line.
  15. If that was the case and they did play their reserve/U19 players or very few of their 1st team regulars, then United could be brought to task by the SPL. Under "The rules of the Scottish Premier League Limited" as published on the SPL website : " Teams for League Matches B5 Each Club shall play its full strength team in all League Matches"

    Season Tickets

Got my renewal letters in this morning. For those of you who are going to pay by credit card, you have to pay a 2.5% cc fee, so your early bird discount is reduced to 2.5%. Also the interest free payable in 4 installments standing order offer, is not available with the early bird discount, so you have to pay the full season ticket price.
  17. even taking into account the bring a friend offer and the reduced prices for the Hibs game as well as only 18 home league games, the season ticket still represents good value if you have managed to get to all the home games. I reckon that even with the above offers, myself and my 2 kids have still benefited by about £200 compared to PATG prices. Good on the club for trying to get the fans in for what may the biggest game this season for us. Just hope the players turn up and play as well as they have shown they can to get the desired result.
  18. Granted Fraser didnt have the best of games. Granted Fraser made a hash of the first United goal, But did Daly (I think it was him) not slip about the same area not that long after? Watched the highlights again and it appears that the ball took a bobble just in front of Fraser, which given the state of our pitch, doesnt surprise me. Anyway, Frasers confidence must be really low after Sunday, and whilst Ruddy is out, Fraser is the number 1 choice no matter what we say or think, so is it not time that we get behind the guy and give him some support and encouragement and help him gain a little confidence.
  19. Whilst I agree that Fraser made a hash of the 2nd Cellic goal, and he doesnt appear confident or able to go for crosses (may we should get him a pair of Sprintair SX 150 jumping stilts) we have had some poor goalie moments before. Buzz used to be suspect at crossed balls also and I remember Sieb flapping at crossed balls on more that 1 occasion. Gordon Marshall had a poor day in the CIS cup final but made up a few weeks later with some good saves when we dumped Cellics title in 2005. Add to that Colin Meldrum and going back a number of years Dave Latchford. Ruddy isnt exempt with his booboo againt United a couple of weeks back. So other keepers have had poor spells and with Fraser having only played a few games. if he gets his confidence up and can make high crosses etc his, then maybe he'll turn out to be no too bad. (I'm ever the optimist)
  20. You dont have to go to a game to be called a supporter. For many and its already been said, going to the fitba is an expensive business these days, especially if you have kids who want to go as well. Going to Aberdeen or Dundee United, with transport costs, lunch, programme etc, and its the best part of £100 quid just to follow your team. Not many people can afford to do that week in week out, especially with so many other things to budget for. If the gate prices followed inflation, we would be paying much, much less than what we do at the moment and untimately, more fans would probably go to games. People go to whatever games they want. If they choose not to go to certain games for whatever reason, then thats their choice, and they shouldnt be berated for it.
  21. Since the split was introduced in 2000-2001 the following teams have had unequal home/away games 2001-2001 Livingston 18 home 20 away St Johnstone 20 home 18 away 2004-2005 Aberdeen 18 home 20 away Inverness 20 home 18 away 2005-2006 Aberdeen 20 home 18 away Inverness 18 home 20 away 2006-2007 Kilmarnock 18 home 20 away Falkirk 20 home 18 away 2007-2008 Aberdeen 20 home 18 away Gretna 18 home 20 away With Aberdeen getting 20 home games again this season, it means they have benefitted financially twice in the past 3 years at the detriment of other teams, unfortunately that team happens to be us this year. Now this affects both fans and the club. In terms of season ticket holders getting 1 less game at home and having to fork out an entrance fee to another club as well as transport costs to get there, and the club loosing out on revenue from gate receipts, programmes, match day hospitality, kiosk sales etc. With Aberdeen gaining this extra game, would it not be fair and equal for them to hand over the proceeds to the other team, in this case, us, to compensate and even out the revenue. Or, do the SPL compensate Motherwell financially with the proceeds after costs we could have made from a game, which would have been against Celtic to balance the fixture lists home and away. In my view, its only fair that no teams looses out due to the way the games are structured after the split. As for the dates/times of the 2 home games, the SPL should be shot, hung and have their bo****ks sliced slowly with a rusty and jagged edged razor blade, especially the Thursday match on Election day. With both ourselves and Hibs chasing a European Spot, there is a good chance that if both teams are still in with a shout of that euro place, that there could be a big crowd which would generate more revenue for our club. If it was on a Saturday then I'm sure both sets of fans would turn out in numbers. Whilst there might still be a "good" crowd on a Thursday, I'm sure it will be a lot less due to the time of the game. Football is all about a Saturday with a 3pm kick off. Lets get back to tradition.
  22. Thats the first objective secured for the season. With St Johnstone drawing this evening, we have mathematically secured a top 6 place. The most points St J can get now if they win all their next games before the split is 47 with us currently on 48. Now to aim upwards!!!!! PS. thats Hibs oot o the cup as well. They got beat 2-1 by Ross C.
  23. One of the T's and C's listed on the fishal site says "Guests should be aware that many seats in all three home stands are reserved for season ticket holders and they may be asked to relocate should they sit on one" Since most of the season ticket holders in the East stand sit in the M F C seats, if they take a friend/hobo/pal/stranger/free loader into the ground, it means they would need to sit somewhere else if they want to be together, unless the season holder next to them moves elsewhere. Now, there are many other season ticket holders, myself included, that dont have a seat in the M F C seats, and the majority of these dont have any name on them, so if I come in and want my seat, I may have to ask somebody to move. Else I sit elsewhere and thus risk somebody asking me to shift if thats their seat. Therefore, I could see musical chairs happening if we get lucky and get a good turnout and people want their own seat, as season ticket holders who dont have a spare seat next to them, decided to sit elsewhere so that their friend that they brought along can sit with them.
  24. Just trawling the web looking for general grass info and the concensus seems to say that sowing from seed requires 9-12 months for normal wear and tear before a lawn is ready for everyday use. Playing football isnt normal everyday lawn wear and tear!! Another turf site says they grow grass for 1-2 years before they sell it to joe public. Not defending the state of the pitch, but watching the highlights on the beeb last night, Falkirks goalmouth, Rugby Park, and the Aberdeen/Raith game at Pittodrie also highlight pitches that are less than perfect for football and are cutting up badly. Just ours is the worst of a bad bunch.
