  1. Winning the Accies game is a must to put pressure on County, Killie and Partick going into their games on the Saturday. Then we need to beat County at Fir Park and it could be back in our own hands again.

    sounds easy eh?

  2.

So you think it's fair in England if at the end of the season your team is 15 points ahead of the team that gets promoted?

If it's that good, why not let the top 4 teams in the SPFL play each other to decide who are the Champions? Maybe call it Scottish Major League Playoffs.

Do they not do this or something similar in Holland?

Personally i like the playoffs but i wish they would do it the same as England. None of this second bottom saving themselves esp when the come in for the last game only. you've came second bottom, down you go.

I think the English set up is pretty perfect for excitement etc.

  3. Going by the BBC this is list

    1. Kenny Black - Not sure he is a number 1

    2. Rob Maaskant - liking the sounds of him. been around a fair few countries but not been a manager

    3. Mitchell van der Gaag - again like the sounds of him but has been out the game for a bit

    4. Kenny Shiels - no thanks

    5. Terry Butcher - like the guy but i don't think we should go back esp if he wants malpas with him.

    6. An Other - great manager and probably the one we will pick

  4. The thought that someone may be waiting in the wings to invest in or buy the club is more comforting than the Well Society is.

even as a member of the Society i would prefer someone to come in and take over the club.

The terms of the letter makes you question why they kept the budget at the same level as last year when they made a lost (probably)

  5. 100% this. If there was ever a time to give them a chance, it's this season. Let's hope the fans give them the same chance.

I hope your right but recent experiences, when we are doing well in the league, suggest that a good few won't be give the lads a chance if we aren't doing so well.

  6. Do we actually need much more. I don't think so tbh.

    Goalies:- Dan, Gunnar and Stewart/Currie

    RB:- Reid, Kerr, Ramsden

    LB:- Hammell, ZFA

CB:- McManus, Kerr, Ramsden, O'Brien, Neill, Cummins

    RM:- Ainsworth, Law, Cadden

LM:- Vigurs, ZFA, Thomas, Ojaama, Law

CM:- Lasley, Carswell, Leitch, Lawson, Vigurs, Law

Forwards:- Erwin, Ojaama, Sutton, Moore, McHugh

You can always strengthen but I think doing so abore would be to the detriment of our youth development. I'm happy enough to go with this squad in the interim.

that looks great except you have law in all 3 midfield positions, he can only play 1 at t time. :whistling:

problem with that squad is Cummins and McHugh aren't fancied by mcCall, moore is injured until Dec/Jan at least, Henrick is away in Jan and Neill, Cadden, Leitch, Erwin, and thomas are all untested over a whole season. Obrien could be good, could be pi$h time will tell.

I would love a couple more permanent players but beggars can't be choosers.

  7. I agree Stuwell. they sat in against us at the start of the first leg and we punished them. Once the reverted to their normal attacking game they played much much better.

Sure McCall said after the first game they expected them to be strong upfront and weaker defensively

we need to play this game the way all the bigger European teams have played against us. Let them have the ball and commit players forward then hit them on the counter attack. although that being said they don't need to win this game so maybe they are planing on putting 10 men behind the ball and saying come break us down.

Still think we have more than enough to win this. 3-1 for us.

  8. Seriously all these pages about our Physio???

Don't get me wrong the guy has been a great servant to the club and a lot of players have commented on how good he is while they are rehabilitating but he's the Physio. We have a replacement already in place.

Extra pay, less mileage to get to work and no prospect of European travel appeals to a guy his age :whistling:

just like leanne, thanks for all you have done for the club John but we will move on.

  9. the word is Should be better but it is still going to be a tough game.

i am more comfortable this season than in a while as we have managed to keep most of the team together.

Sure i saw somewhere we need to have a player signed today if we want him to play next week, guess that's why we will find out about clarkson so soon.

  10. The well society was a good idea but they ruined it by setting the amounts required too high. If they had the pay as you go scheme from the start i am sure many more people would have signed up.

Personally i would be happy if my socitey money was used to buy shares in the club and investors who can afford it bought shares too. As long as it is for the good of the club.

  11. can't remember who we were playing but i do remember Shaun talking (well shouting) Kevin Christie through the game, telling him how to play the game. there was a bit where he just stopped playing and told him where to go so he could pass it to him.

A class player and a pleasure to watch him play the game.

  12. Just my opinion

I think we have done better than those results show.

    Nancy - Outclassed us

Steaua - we were looking really good until they got the away goal and then they pulled away

Odense - What a game that was. if only we had our shooting boots on.

Levante - I wasn't that impressed with them at Fir park, but we were even worse that night.

Kuban - we played ok but got caught again with everyone up the park.

  13. We shouldnt be giving up on 2nd at this stage.

We are 1 point off second right now having been brutal to watch at times. If we can keep players fit and avoid unecessary suspensions we might just find some form along the way.

Given our early cup exits, every penny will be a prisoner so we need to finish as high as we can to maximise prize revenue.

If we can play some more attractive football while we are at it we might not see as much drop off at the gate which would be a further boost.

No such thing as meaningless fixtures between now and seasons end. All the more reason we should be looking to keep Anier and Ainsworth if we can.

    Spot on for me.

For as poor as we have been at times we are still up there. We will come good at some point, normally when McCall pulls a signing from somewhere in January.

  14. it's worked well in the past. Hammell, Lasley, McFadden. Just ignore McClair though.

Not sold on Sutton coming back to be honest, but would take clarkson in a second. Doubt he would take the wage cut to come back though.

  15. not a great away day but hey it was all about celebrating the season. had a chuckle seeing the well players walking through the st johnstone fans to get to us.

Shows you what everyone things of mcfadden a few well fans on the pitch getting pictures with him and then st johnstone fans come over to get a picture taken with him. fair play to him is stuck about and looked happy to play along.

weird one with hollis. he wears a football boot on his left foot and what looks like a shoe on his right(kicking) foot. not saying it is a shoe but it was different from the other one.
