Long has made at least three times the mistakes in fewer matches. Also Twardzik has had MotM performances in him when Long doesn't. And finally Long takes about 15 minutes to distribute a ball from feet or hand and doesn't have a clue what to do.

If wanting someone in the team with a proven goal scoring record when we are on terrible runs and staring relegation in the face is having a man crush then I guess I have one. We needed to win today and about 50% of the teams goals were sitting on the bench in the form of Ainsworth and Sutton. Both players have big flaws in their games but if you don't score you don't win. As for Sutton being poor against Partick, fine. But Erwin has been poor against Hamilton, Partick, most of the Kilmarnock match at Rugby Park, St. Mirren today and others. Yet Erwin seems to be beyond any kind of criticism on here, while Sutton only needs one poor performance to get binned even though he's up there with some of the greatest ever players to pull on a Motherwell shirt in terms of goalscoring - Willie Pettigrew, Ian St.John, Pat Quinn, Wilson Humphreys etc. And I've given Erwin plenty praise when he deserved it but he isn't good enough to be a stick on first choice striker. That's one of the reasons we are in a relegation play off and one of the major mistakes Baraclough has made. We had a chance to go with Sutton and McDonald up front in the run in and we didn't. That and the George Long debacle are huge mistakes in team selection that Baraclough has made. By the way, if we get a last minute penalty in the play off that we need to score to save ourselves how do you want to take it? Erwin or Sutton?

It's hardly abuse to point out if we sell a striker that can't score it's a bit of a result. Also Erwin is one of the reasons the team is mediocre. He plays well about every 4th or 5th game. I'm happy to give him MotM awards when he does turn it on but the facts are that for about 75% of the season he's been run-of-the-mill to poor.

Starting our two top scorers this season, maybe?
-
If we get a development fee for a striker that's scored in 3 out of 36 appearances this season we should be doing cartwheels.
-
In a novel twist, I'll actually be going along to watch and support the team, even though we are shite.
-
I don't. If we lose the play offs we deserve to go down. We need to take our medicine.

Sutton. Stepped up and took the pressure penalty. A few seconds but the most any Motherwell player did today to step up to the plate. Also the brief time we looked any good was immediately between Ainsworth and Sutton coming on and that comedy goal we gave away.

Club are making a lot of noise about appealing McDonald's red card but from what I saw he raised to his elbow to the player. McManus 'tackle' was a disgrace. Lasley and Pearson got away with a few as well despite being booked. These are supposed to be our experienced leaders setting an example to the rest. Our discipline this season has been absolutely disgraceful. How many red cards is that now this season? Could end up in double figures at this rate. At the other end of the scale you have guys like Conor Grant who look scared to get a bruise.

Well that was really a summation of our season. Terrible away form, lack of urgency, no confidence, not doing the basics, rotten defending, lack of creativity, inability to hold a lead, missed chances, calamity goalkeeping, tactical ineptitude, shocking player discipline, wrong starting XI and so forth. Wasn't really that surprised with the display, it was pretty much typical of pretty much every away match I've seen this season with the exception of the 2nd half of the Kilmarnock game. Baraclough has two play offs matches to save our season and his job.

Aberdeen have released Declan McManus. Might be interesting to see what level of football he is playing next season.
-
What's he claiming then because it must be a hell of a number mangle to get us to third with our terrible away record.
-
This is how the league table would look if it had been reset to zero when Baraclough took over. 1-Celtic 50 2-Aberdeen 43 3-Ross County 31 4-Inverness 30 5-St.Johnstone 30 6-Partick 26 7-Dundee 24 8-MOTHERWELL 24 9-Dundee Utd 22 10-Hamilton 20 11-St Mirren 19 12-Kilmarnock 17 Don't know GD so Inverness-St.Johnston, Dundee-Motherwell is alphabetical.

Not listened to the full interview yet but I think our dear leader has got a little bit confused. Our home record since he came in is pretty good though so perhaps he means if we'd replicated our home form away from home for something like that. At a glance, I'd say Aberdeen and Celtic have better home records, Partick and Ross County broadly similar. Other than that I don't know what he's talking about frankly.

Lawson has started 8 league matches out of 76. Hardly a surprise.
-
The Brazilian boy they brought in is 6'4. I'm guessing it might be him!
-
Better goalkeepers out of contract this summer - Jamie MacDonald for instance. I've also been pretty impressed by Derek Gaston at Morton whenever I've seen him. Think Thomas Cerny only signed up to the end of the season for Hibs but might be wrong about that.
-
The funny thing is St.Mirren have been reasonably good away from home, it's there home form that's got them relegated. I think it was 6 out of 7 wins are away from home. Of course our away form is abysmal, so something has to give.

Chic said on the radio Bolton Wanderers were at the game last night as well.
-
Kilmarnock have conceded 14 goals in the last 4 matches. Partick have handed out a few thumpings at Firhill this season (4-0 Ross County, 4-0 Inverness, 5-0 Accies). St.Mirren have been conceding goals lately as well (0-5, 0-3, 0-3). You never know what might happen.
-
Said on the radio their wages have been slashed due to a relegation clause. Doubt there will be much gay abandon!
-
Craig Moore and Craig Reid are both contracted next season but what happens with the latter remains to be seen.
-
At the Partick game a few weeks ago I was sitting next to a couple of German scouts. Don't know what club it was though.
-
Agree. A Fitzpatrick/Fagan level player.

St. Mirren have been so dreadful this season they are 11 points behind us! They are relegated, on a downer and have nothing to play for. They've already released a bunch of experienced players before the end of the season, have the worst home record in the league and the poorest form in the league outside Kilmarnock. We also beat them on their ground last time out. If we can't be positive about this one.... Of course it's a must win but we've got to go there confident of victory and goals.
