    Kilmarnock

Not much to pick from today but I went for Clarkson. Only player that looked dangerous and set up the goal.
  2. Cowie has already gone and Black is going. Not sure if I'd have Foran back. I'd take Morais though.
  3. The Killie fans had an inflatable alligator that they were passing around the a section of the away support so about 6 of our boys in blue appear, lift one of the Killie fans, go into the crowd and then confiscate the alligator, although only after a it was passed around the crowd some more! Probably the best entertainment of the day but stuff like that really pisses me off just a bunch of killjoys but when anything serious is happening they are nowhere to be seen.
  4. The alligator incident. Seriously, the police in this country....
  5. You may or may not have seen this on the BBC yesterday but McGhee was quoted as saying... "We tried to sign a couple of players yesterday who we weren't able to afford and who look as though they've ended up signing for St Johnstone, so that's our problem and we have to cut our cloth. "The youth system is really where our squad is going to be coming from, because we aren't going to be out there buying and selling lots of players."
  6. Game of the season: Odd choice maybe, especially as we lost it but the Accies League Cup tie was a great game, so many chances and incidents. Goal of the season: Sutton's strike against Rangers was a beauty. Lets not forget Bob Malcolm hit a couple of brilliant free kick goals. Player of the season: David Clarkson. His best season in terms of goals scored but his overall work rate is superb and he rarely gives less than 100%. So our best player, our most consistent player and our best goalscorer adds up to Player of the Season. Best moment: The teams coming our on to Fir Park for our first Euro tie for a long time. Unfortunately it was only a moment! Worst Moment: Hearts scoring in the 90th minute at Tynecastle. Arrrghhhh! Suprise of the year: Qualifying for Europe (by the looks of it) through the back door. Worst player of the year: No one. Under McGhee I think the players have generally given it 100% effort over the season. Some are players better than others, some performances were under par but you expect that over a season so there is no one I would point the finger at. Young player of the year: Again no one. Jamie Murphy has talent but he's yet to convince me he can play at SPL level. Overall: If anyone was expecting us to repeat last season then their expectations were far too high. Considering the size of our squad which must be one of, if not actually the smallest in the league, McGhee has done a decent job to get us back from our sticky period mid season.
  7. Are you serious! Corrigan got elbowed out at Kilmarnock, had a disastrous loan period at Dundee and is now by no means an automatic choice at ROSS COUNTY. Meanwhile Kinniburgh couldn't get a game at Partick Thistle and will be released this summer.
  8. Naw it doesnae! It's too long ago. I'd only been coming to the 'Well from about '86/87. Within a few years we'd won a Scottish Cup. 18 years later I'm still waiting!
  9. And if he was so good he was, apparently, knocking on the first team squad door at Motherwell, he'll get a lower league club easy - that's if he wants to work his way up.
  10. I'd say one of the reason Nancy battered us was as the word 'battered' suggests, they were much bigger, stronger and physically imposing. Very few of their players weren't 6ft plus and build like brick shithouses. In contrast our team was short, skinny and lightweight, even our taller players like Quinn and Porter are built like rakes! Nancy were technically better also but not so much that the major reason for the defeat was that they simply out muscled us. Celtic showed much more technical ability a couple of weeks before than Nancy did at Fir Park. So may the Scottish game isn't primitive enough!

I agree with you on the 'I'll not bother' brigade. What amazing activities have all these guys got lined up on Saturday between 3pm and 5pm? Bungee jumping? Jet backpack testing? High wire balancing over the Grand Canyon? Support your team! I actually quite enjoyed watching Motherwell without all the gut mangling tension that I usually have to endure! I'd keep the split, although its not worked out for us this season, and I'd add a relegation play off, the 2nd bottom side should play the 2nd top side in the First Division.

Fraser was dropped and replaced, rightly so, by RYAN ESSON. Basically he is not first team material and if he starts next season then we could be in a bit of bother. Davie Clarkson did fine the other night, but if virtually your entire midfield doesn't kick a ball there isn't much a forward can do about it. As for his only contribution being setting up a goal, I'm not sure is entirely factual but what would you rather he do? Do 500 keepie uppies on the centre circle? He set up our equaliser and scored two goals at the weekend and he still gets it in the neck from some people. As for Sutton/Clarkson 'not looking like a partnership' well they have scored 24 goals between them this season which isn't a bad return and Sutton has the same number of league goals this season as St. Porter with only a couple more games played (3 to be precise). He might look lumbering and lazy but his goal rate is actually pretty good. The facts are we looked much more dangerous with Sutton/Clarkson up front than with Sheridan/Clarkson. If McGhee hadn't made that substitution we would have lost so again give the players some credit.
  13. Is Darren Smith injured? If not, he's not featured for a while. Maybe he's not in the managers plans....

    Inverness

Not a great performance although I enjoyed the game enough. I voted O'Brien. He showed the most energy but as usual didn't have much in the way of delivery. McLean did well in the first half but I thought the defence was all over the place in the 2nd when Inverness upped their effort a bit. Smith had a couple of decent saves, Clarkson as usual caused problems when he got on the ball but that was about it. Hughes, Murphy and Lasley hardly had a kick at the ball, Sheridan did absolutely nothing.
  15. It never even occurred to me that he was going to mention that incident, I thought it was something in the game (which I wasn't at) that hadn't been in the highlights! To be fair St. Mirren fans are under a lot of stress at the moment and are likely to display that in posts like these - O'Brien clearly twisted his leg. That's not to say some of our players don't go down easy but that was a bad example to pick.
  16. Yeah, shouting at players NOT to put a tackle in, don't play for the jersey, show no commitment and onwards to glory!
  17. £800 per week is considered the low end of the wage scale for SPL players. Most established players will be on much more than that.
  18. I've always rated Dargo, I said we should sign him back in his Kilmarnock days! A good player at our level but at 31 his best days are probably gone, especially with his recent injury problems. Still, if you can keep him fit, you could do a lot worse.
  19. It's just more top quality Scottish journalism. What they meant to say was Hearts. With St.Mirren scrapping for survival you can see them picking up more bookings than us. Hearts are a few more back and again might be more determined.
  20. Willie McLaren will be going down to the 2nd Division with Clyde assuming he is still contracted. Worth a pop? Still only 24, scored a few goals this season, won Scottish League Player of the Month, a couple of months ago and we need options in the wide areas. Just a suggestion.
  21. Captain Sensible, your boys took one hell of a beating!
  22. McGhee more or less said Malcolm would be on his way on the radio on Saturday.
  23. A B squad maybe? I'm pretty sure neither Woods or McCart got called up to a senior squad. Scott Howie did make full squads though.
  24. Ha ha ha I think I ran into it a few times why looking nervously over my shoulder.
