Rangers had 78% possession last week. Celtic had 70% against Kilmarnock. Meanwhile Hibs have 3 wins and a draw from four matches and have never had the majority of the ball in any of the matches.

I'm more worried about the Glentoran match. If we don't win that then I think you'd see heads go down and that can be difficult or impossible to recover from.
-
I agree he has fucked the transfer window, not for the first time by the way. However the transfer window isn't over so it's down to Robinson to admit his mistakes and bring someone in. If he doesn't do that then I think his job will very much be in jeopardy in the near future but I think he at least deserves a chance to amend his mistakes.

We are nowhere near a relegation battle in August and are not detached. We are one win away from Top 6. The run of poor form is concerning, especially as Robinson had a close season to fix it, but there is still plenty time for the manager to change it and turn it around. If he doesn't do that then you have to look at it but we aren't at that stage yet. To be fair to Robinson we've been in worse positions before and we've got out of it so right now we just need to be a bit more patient and see what transpires. 5 or 6 matches down the line with a full round of matches played is when you start assessing it and like I said bringing in a player rather than a manager, for me, would have more effect. Do you think a new manager gets goals out of Long, Watt, White? If so, he'd be changing the habits of a life time.

Teams let us have the ball and let us come on to them because they know we won't do shit and are always good for a mistake at the back. Don't mistake our possession and shot stats for Celtic style domination.

I've been very critical of Robinson at times but you don't fire a manager after 5 league matches. Next game is huge though. If we have a humiliating European elimination at home to Glentoran, which is quite possible I think, then get pumped by Celtic then the heat starts to turn up. However, we need players brought in rather than a change of management although sometimes I think Robinson can be a bit thick when it comes to spotting obvious deficiencies. Going into the season with the strikers and forwards we have was never going to cut it and why he thought it would is honestly a bit baffling.

Answer is easy. Sign a striker, or strikers if you want to be really ambitious, that can actually score a goal.

Already ticked off agents, the referee, players... I'm going for seagulls this week. Young seagulls. A team of young, young, inexperienced seagulls.
-
Well that's been on the cards for the last 10 minutes or so.

It's a shame Turnbull can't get on the end of his own crosses.
-
Dunno about you but I'm on the brink of a siesta.

Before the match today 17% of our shots have been on target. League average is between 30 - 40%. Obviously we are by miles the worst.
-
No chance of getting Leigh Griffiths. There is chat of Livingston picking up Anthony Stokes. Not sure what our fans would make of that but there has to be someone out there with a similar goal scoring pedigree.
-
I'd say not being able to score a goal was a major flaw.

Story of the season - no cutting edge.

This is one of the worst runs in Robinson's time as manager, which isn't lacking in poor runs. I keep saying it but we've won 1 match in all competitions since James Scott left the club. Since 29th Dec 2019 we've P16 W2 D6 L8. And the poor run includes three matches against St Mirren without victory and a draw and a home defeat to Hamilton. It has not been a terrifying run of fixtures. We really need to build on the Hibs performance which was better but still had some major flaws. While a win gives a platform for improvement failure to win, especially with an away tie to Celtic next, really puts us in situation where we might find ourselves flapping around in increasingly deeper water. Robinson out chat is silly at this stage in the season but it's really important we win this one because the pressure on everyone will only increase as long as we fail to win and the longer it goes on the harder it becomes to get that win. The next match seems like an ideal opportunity to nip all that in the bud.

We should be favourites but sadly the standard of Scottish football these days has long past a time where we could go into a match like this with any kind of arrogance about winning. In recent times our clubs have lost to teams from Luxembourg, Malta, Cyprus, Iceland, Wales, Armenia, Lithuania and Kazakhstan. Excluding Rangers and Celtic we've had 28 teams in the Europa League in the last 10 years and 18 of them were eliminated immediately after one tie. No one has made it past the 3rd Qualifying round since 2011-12. 10 YEAR RECORD - SCOTTISH NON MAJOR CITY BASED CLUBS IN EUROPA LEAGUE 2019-20 Connah's Quay defeated KILMARNOCK 3-2 agg 2017-18 FK Trakai defeated ST JOHNSTONE 3-1 agg 2015-16 Astra Giurgiu defeated INVERNESS 1-0 agg 2015-16 Alashkert defeated ST JOHNSTONE 2-2 (a) agg 2014-15 Stjarnan defeated MOTHERWELL 5-4 agg 2014-15 ST JOHNSTONE defeated Luzern 2-2 (a) agg 2014-15 Spartak Trnava defeated ST JOHNSTONE 3-2 agg 2013-14 Kuban Krasnodar defeated MOTHERWELL 3-0 agg 2013-14 ST JOHNSTONE defeated Rosenborg 2-1 agg 2013-14 Minsk defeated ST JOHNSTONE 1-1 (pens) agg 2012-13 Levante defeated MOTHERWELL 3-0 agg 2012-13 Eskisehrispor defeated ST JOHNSTONE 3-1 agg 2010-11 MOTHERWELL defeated Breidablik 2-0 agg 2010-11 MOTHERWELL defeated Aalesund 4-1 agg 2010-11 Odense defeated MOTHERWELL 3-1 agg

Better performance, a point away at Easter Road is fine BUT... Failed to score in three out of four matches. Already voiced my concerns about the forwards signed by Robinson. White/Watt/Long don't cut it for me.
-
Best performance of the season so far but I do still think part of Hibs game plan is to give you possession and then make fast counters. We need to be careful.
-
Grimshaw should be dropped just based on the Livingston game never mind a long run of being a not very good right back.

Just read this on the BBC. One of the very first football matches I was taken to was Tom Forsyth's Rangers (hey, don't judge) testimonial match against Swansea (then featuring guys like John Toshack, Dean Saunders, Dai Davies, Robbie James etc.) As a player his Motherwell period was before my time but anyone getting 22 caps for Scotland in the 1970s was obviously pretty good. And of course he was Tommy's assistant during the best times that I've ever seen as a Motherwell supporter. Will go down as a true club legend no doubt.

Hibs have 3 wins out of 3 and have never dominated possession in any match. They'll let us come forward and play on the counter. They have been much more clinical up top than we have (nearly twice as likely to score from a shot) so I think they'll fancy their chances even if they don't create a lot.
-
I'd fancy us away to Barcelona but it's Hibs we're playing. It's a different level.

We'll find that out in a couple of days.
