  1. McCoist looking to bring in at least half a dozen players tomorrow. With a deal apparently close for Templeton, I'd expect 1 or 2 'Well players to be linked with Sevco tomorrow.
  2. Think we had to in order to qualify for a grant from the SFA.
  3. Been out the loop with transfer chat while on holiday. Think we may have dodged a bullet with Stevenson. Good player yes but far from a priority for us. If we are to fork out a decent wage or two i'd much rather see a proper replacement for Jennings and competition for Higdon.
  4. Never been keen on the idea but couldn't believe folk were buying 'Well/Celtic ones at the cup final.
  5. Bet them at 6/5 after cashing in on a weekend double of Chelsea and Dundee Utd. Wouldn't have bet them if I was going to the game.
  6. There have been links to Hibs all summer. Wouldn't like to see him play against us but I'd only pursue him if he was willing to commit to us to at least the end of the season.
  7. Didn't have a chance to follow game today but delighted to hear result. I don't Murphy has been anywhere near as bad as some have suggested but hopefully today gives him the confidence to do some damage on Thursday. Any word on Ramsden injury?
  8. Sure you would. Not sure if we have beat Killie since McCall arrived.
  9. Hopefully we can avoid a tippy tappy bore. Last season was brutal against Killie. Would like to see a midfield 3 of Lasley, Law and Hetherington in order to try and get a grip of the game. Not sure what would make the best front 3 though on current form. ZFA should play left back but If McCall wants to be cautious, he may shift Ramsden to left back and bring in Cummins.
  10. Significant when we are over £1mil short of Well Society target. I miss John Boyle.
  11. If we do sell them for derisory amounts, it would be down to Motherwell and not Scottish football. Hearts, Hibs and Dundee Utd manage to hold out for value. The story on the official does come as somewhat desperate. If the figures are true, neither bid really merits a mention.
  12. Yip. Wonder how much we will hold out for.
  13. Missing both games due to holiday, pretty gutted. Think we should see around 9000 again. Guess there is no chance of UK TV coverage with Hearts Liverpool taking centre stage?
  14. I quite enjoyed today despite it not being the best football on show. St Johnstone could have been out of sight after going 1-0 up but we somehow dug in deep while running on empty and got an unlikely but well worked goal. For me, we don't need a striker. What we do need is a Jennings replacement. Law is doing an incredible shift in midfield but his link-up play and creativity is required further up the pitch to bring the best out of our front men.
  15. Hutch by a distance, he's ready to play at a much higher level. Him and Law are carrying us to an extent.
  16. I'd go with that too but I was under the impression that Carswell has fell out the picture a wee bit? Anyway, Ramsden will be a McCall regular while fit.
  17. One positive step was yesterday's announcement that the under 20s will be playing at FP this season, predominately on a Tuesday evening. Interesting to see who will be recruited as coach in the coming weeks. It's imperative that we have a productive youth setup in place of we are going to run with the well society model.
  18. Randolph Hateley Hutch Cummins Hammell Murphy Lasley Ramsden/Hetherington Law Higdon Ojammaa/McHugh
  19. Left winger, played against us in Scottish cup when we won 4-0.
  20. Craig Forsyth ex Dundee, now Watford, has been linked with a loan move to a host of SPL clubs. McCall was interested in him last summer.
  21. The art of raising our game against superior opposition seems to have been lost at Motherwell in recent years. We are incredibly consistent at playing well against teams of a similar level which is great but when it comes to playing Celtic, Rangers or a half decent Eiropean team, we seem almost content to get in and out the stadium with a respectable defeat. Yes we were playing a Champions League qualifier which we could never have imagined but having got there, I don't think we came close to throwing absolutely everything at it over the course of two legs. To get some perspective, it will be interesting to see how Dundee Utd perform in Moscow. On the bright side we appear to have unearthed another centre half with a bit of potential.
  22. Omar fucking Daley playing Champions League. We're having a laugh.
  23. The chat about the heat has pretty much ended any sense of optimism I had last week. I naively thought it might cool down in the evening. McCalls comment suggest Daley will start. I'd be going with Hetherington or Carswell as an extra man in midfield and asking Murphy and Ojamaa to support from wide.
