  1. Sounds like a bit of a prospect. Would be nice to see a permanent signing before the end of January though.
  2. This is a concern for me. McCall need his own man in there to take training while he can focus his attention on chasing new recruits. Judging by our lacklustre players over the last month, the players have been missing the presence and guidance of Knox more than anything. You would like to think McCall came to Motherwell with a 2-3 yearplan for the club. A plan that would naturally encompass his preferences for coaching staff.
  3. Fully agree with yourself and Sieb. Dilemma for me is whether he would be best suited to a sitting midfield role in tandem with a workhorse or playing behind the striker(s). I know he has relatively poor fitness and struggles in wider position but FFS, for anyone to say he has no talent doesn't have a clue about fitba.
  4. Agreed Andy. If it wasn't for our cup 'prospects' I'd be quite content to go with what we have until the end of the season and put our existing budget towards funding a couple of good pre-contract deals. Given that we we are sitting in a good position in both cups however, we surely need to show some ambition. Since our criteria for a new manager was heavily focused on contacts down south, I assume that 1) McCall has good contacts and 2) there is a suitable budget to take advantage of such contacts.
  5. Cardiff for Reynolds according to the Sun.
  6. Lame lame performance by the sound of it. Couple of new faces needed in the midfield.
  7. That was coming. 'Flow has had more mentions than Forbes.
  8. Right 3 sets of wages freed up with the prospect of Casagolda and Reynolds to follow. Early opportunity for McCall to put his stamp on the squad.
  9. Length of contract will have been the clincher for Fitzpatrick. Furthermore, if we wanted to offer him more money I'm sure we could have. All the best Marc.
  10. Activatiuon seemed to go ok. But when I try to access it at work I'm kicked back out.
  11. He is not a professional footballer.
  12. I doubt any club in the SPL is spending outwith it's means just now. The banks simply wouldn't allow it. Every now and again though you will get a chairman personally financing a deal ala Boyle with Hughes & Porter.
  13. Agreed. But we should also be keeping a close eye on the lower Scottish Leagues. There are surely 1 or 2 gems to be had. Guys like Conway and Imrie immediately spring to mind, 2 of the more talented players in the league. We seem to have taken our eye off the ball in that respect over the last few years.
  14. Sad state of affairs but Fleetwood must have a wee bit of dough in relative terms. Think they signed Shaun Gregan from Oldham the other day.
  15. Return to Stranraer would go down a treat. Get the buses lined up Mr Boyle.
  16. I think we could do with another striker but preferrably one with experience that could help develop Murphy. Left mid and right back top of my shopping list though.
  17. Interested to see how we cope with 3 games in a wek. It was always a problem under the Broon regime. I'd happily take a point. For me it's all about keeping things ticking over until the next cup games...
  18. I see some Russian mob have made a bid for Adam Rooney, with his contract expiring at the end of the season. Surprised no SPL club went for him when ICT were relegated. Really good striker imo. With regards to our transfer activity this month, I hope that that we can bring in a left sided player that will add a new dimension to our midfield, an accomplished right back that knows how to defend and a striker that can hold the ball up well and will keep Sutton on his toes. This is all under the assumption that Reynolds will move on!
  19. They should be looking to extend Jamie's contract. He needs a consistent year of banging the goals in and then he will ready for a move to England for decent money.

    Jamie Murphy. Well done son!
  21. Thoroughly professional performance Motherwell. Well done. The impact of Jennings on his return was there for all to see. Delighted for Murphy and Sutton. Pair of them showed that they should always have been playing upfront together.
