  1. We are but we've got the additional expense of fireproof painting of the POD Stand, upgrading of the floodlights and the replacement of the pitch / USH / Drainge system that will cost us over 500k combined.

That money has to come from somewhere I am afraid....

    'Flow

Totally appreciate that 'Flow and there ain't much we can do about it. Paying the price for cutting corners throughout the Boyle era.

    Frustrating times ahead.

  2. Sounds like McGhee is getting his excuses in early doors.

Financially we are all in the same boat, indeed we are probably better off than many of our SPL counterparts.

It is somewhat concerning that we lost out on the boy Davidosn but I reckon McGhee could have had him if he really wanted him.

Time to knuckle down and get the best out of what we have.

  3. Met Imrie a fair few times while working in Lanark. Seemed alright to me but everyone suggested that you should give him a wide berth. There are plenty of wankers in fitba mind you. Personally though, I don't think he is anything special.

No more chat on Barrowman? Stand out performer at School with good pace and an eye for goal. Banged in the goals in the 1st Division I think but he has struggled to make it in the SPL.

Given the troubles at Clyde, I imagine Pat Clarke will be on the radar.

  4. im making a plea to my fellow well fans for the last game of the season not to invade the pitch as part of the sfa criteria is fan behaviour and i would be really gutted if we missed out on europe because of a few daftys im sure my fellow well fans would back me up on this one as europe 2 years in a row would be a great achievement for the club and extra money that hasnt been counted for

How the fuck is it a great achievement?

We are ripping the arse out of this!

  5. In his early days I laughed at how bad he was.

Ended up doing a decent job given his limited ability.

Decent bloke though and a cert to score the night!

  6. I'll give Butcher a warm reception, and will dish out a bit of abuse to Kerr. I'll probably be totally indifferent to Foran, as I still maintain he was horrendously over-rated - I don't see any reason to boo him, but I don't see any particular reason to cheer him either. But each to their own.

Reckon we'll win this. Saturday showed that despite not having anything to play for other than avoiding bookings, we're still capable of tearing bottom six shite apart.

Not too bothered about the line-up - whether we want to start giving the younger players a gig is entirely up to McGhee. Don't want to see Sheridan in a 'Well jersey again though for the rest of the season, unless there's a good chance of us actually signing him during the summer. If it's guaranteed he'll be heading back to Celtic, there's absolutely no reason to play him ahead of other players.

2-0 'Well - Clarky & Sutton on the scoresheet.

Similar thoughts on Sheridan. Given that McGhee is evaluating the squads credentials for next season however, I wonder if Saturday's inclusion suggests we have a chance of keeping him.

As for tonight, I fancy a good few goals. 3-2 either way.

  7. Braw result the day, all the sweater given the opposition.

Delighted for Murphy, they boy has a lovely habit of scoring and deserves a decent run in the team.

Interesting that Sheridan started. Wonder if we are contemplating a permanent move for him?

Just the 1 yellow card? cause for celebration :D

  8. It was reported a couple of weeks ago that Lappin had told his gaffer that he's wanting to stay at Norwich whatever happens.

Bearing in mind he has been more involved with the first team since Bryan Gunn took over there maybe more chance that offer will come. Especially as they may have to look at selling higher earners.

Little chance of Gunn getting the permanent job though.

Anyway while I am a big fan of Lappin, the recently departed Mark Fortheringham would be just as good, if not better, replacement.

  9. I normally agree with a lot of what you say but I'd say Reynolds is far more replaceable than Clarkson. Trying to find someone to score maybe 10 goals in the SPL in the summer is going to be hard enough, without looking for two of them...

Aye it's a fair point mate. Just feel that if both were to fulfil their potential, Reynolds would be the more valuable asset. Terribly disappointed with him this season however.

If I were McGhee, I'd let the two of them sign off for summer just now and come back fresh for the pre-season. Reynolds in particular has had little time off in the last 2 years.

With regards strikers, if we are going down the Sutton route, then get some quality down the wings in a 442 and Sutton wont be far off 15 a season.

  10. I'd be delighted if we got a decent wedge for Clarky. Excellent servant and one of our most dangerous players but he is definately replacement if we have a few quid to spend. More importantly, bring in 3 or 4 others.

Reynolds I'd like to keep, see if he can fulfil his potential next season and then really make a few quid off him.
