As most agree the game show night was a good exercise and we must have raised a few quid for Youth Development. Does anyone know what kind of sum was raised and does Gordon Young have anything particular in mind for its use on the Youth Development front?
Another good win for the 19s this week

John 'Dixie' Deans was my first hero figure.
Aye, who scored today? Dixie Deans.

I saw a young guy today wearing one that looked like the rugby top but had MFC logo on left chest.

Everybody who sits in the Phil O'Donnell stand knows Rab. They hear him shouting 'Mon the 'Well every home game.

100% from Shug yesterday, never gave Utd a minutes peace. You can put up with the odd mistake from players when they put in effort like this.

Memo to Foghorn: I will get the outstanding raffle prizes sorted if you're in the wee bar of the Fir Park Club before the game tomorrow.
Cheers, Syd.
Thanks Syd

Same team as Tynecastle but we must be tighter at the back when defending crosses and long throws against guys like Wilkie. First goal will be crucial as usual, as Utd are good at defending a lead.
I would hope the gaffer goes at them from the start and lifts the support.

A very enjoyable Wednesday night in the company of a few hundred Dossers. My first time in Mega Bar and I am sure the theme was different for the staff also. Well worth building on the success for something similar in future.
If any of winning fans quiz team post on here can you PM me please.

IF he signs any pre contract then straight out of the first team. I am not going to pussy about this issue so if he does not want to play for us - beat it. YES he is a good shot stopper - BUT he has been culpable along with certain defenders in losing a number of goals we should never have lost. The other night at Tynie he dived away from Drivers stooped header from a ball which literally bounced in front of him.

That was a great result for the youth team

Findlays is still there? Used to drink in there regularly in 89.
I suppose the old Criterion bar is long gone?
If its the same pub (Findlays) it sits on a corner 50 metres from the river on the same road as the bridge and is a big open bar with windows on all sides. Don't recall seeing The Criterion

Were you on megabus back yesterday? Guy wearing a well top on my bus
Not me, I was on the train. Had a good day in the town - was in a new place called The Auctioneers at lunchtime for a Burger and it was smart but the staff were gettin to grips with the tills etc. Decent prices for good scran.
Tried Lauders (as recommended by others on this site) and it is a coup. Had previously looked in to The Moray- opposite the station, but it smelt like a nursing home on a clammy night. Found the pubs on the other side of the river were good - The Albyn, and Findlays. Stayed at The Columba and it was good VFM.

First chance to post as I stayed in Inverness after the game. We played well enough to deserve the win but again gave too many chances to the opposition. Forwards all contributed but Clarky and Smith when given the chance need to wok much harder, and why do they both not hit the bye line when we have the opportunity? Reasons for being subbed? Defence worked as a unit and I hope Brian McLean can keep fit as I noticed him limping on a couple of occasions. The keeper did not cover himself in glory on crosses again, and his kicking was suspect although he did very well to smother a cross ball in the first half.
I felt we should have brought Las on earlier and sacrificed one of the front 2 as we were overun in midfield, but we held on for a great 3 points.
A nice birthday present for me.

Jim O'Brien for me with mentions to Sheridan for his goal and Maros for never giving up (too many bookings though), and McLean for coming through the 90 (thought I saw a bit of a limp a few times 2nd half) We nearly were overun in midfield 2nd half as MM failed to spot we were well outnumbered. Took Clarky off for not showing enough effort IMO, and subbed the sub Darren Smith again IMO for not getting the head down. These guys need to get a grip and get back to the work rate they were showing previously

Local ? It's over an hour away man and if I cannae drink on train !!!!!!
Another Pishy excuse - its 3 hours away for us. Who's gonna stop ye havin a drink?
-
He was absolute shite. Allowed Caldwell and others to dominate him and the players ran the show. Had opportunities to book plenty in Green, but decided to give 1st card to Maros for a shove and then allowed others away with similar. The hundreds who booed from both sides of the support were right.

They are indeed, but are all as likely to come about as my suggestion.
Bit negative mate.

All good ideas, with the "something in return factor" applying to people who contribute a significant amount, by perhaps sponsoring the whole penalty area @ a fiver/tenner per yard. Like everything else it takes someone to organise it like the trust etc, and this is where they should take it on. (any arguments tonight please at the interval of POD dinner)

Decent result so far with the game being live. Lets make it a noisy night.

Six of the Auld Farts going through but i hear theres not anywhere for a pint near the new ground?
-
Good article but MM will never convince me it was 4-3-3 last week. I thought the fans were well behind the team yesterday and pushed them on to the win. The support will react positively if the team are trying to win games.

Mensing swings at the ball with his hand in front of Smiths face.
Quinn goes down too early and his blether with the ref earlier meant he was never goung to get it.

The Grew was in the Fir Park Club after the game on Saturday. nothing is a problem to him. When one of the regulars asked for an autograph, Wullie P actually thanked them for asking him. A legend.

What a bit of business by Tommy McLean. Davie Cooper brought real professionalism to Motherwell and so many players grew in stature on and off the park due to his presence at the club. Too many examples of brilliance to pick one out, but the look of pleasure and pride on his face when holding the Scottish Cup aloft will be remembered forever.
