Murphy gets my vote, he tried to link up with and support the duke -something which never happened in the 1st half.
Also I was very suprised to see the duke come back out for the second half as I thought he was injured and should have been taken off and saved for Saturday.

Just home. Inverness are the most frustrating team in Scotland, very hard to break down. That's why they're mid-table 1st div cos they can't play teams who they should take the game to.
Murphy and the Duke get pass marks from me....Broon doesn't, we simply had to start Sutton due to the physical nature of Caley....was men against boys without a doubt. Got bullied off every ball.
Hate Motherwell fans after a defeat....thought it was out of order when the players were clapping us and a few fans down the front were sticking fingers up and making wanker signs. Aye we were pish but fuck sake
I couldn't believe it when we started with a 4-5-1 formation, the Duke was left isolated with no support from midfield.
We were very flat last night, Inverness chased everything, harrassed us at every turn and deserved the win. Hopefully we can take a leaf out of their book and play with a bit more passion on Saturday.
Only good thing last night was Johnny foxes bar after the game - open 'til 3am!

Curiously, if my memory serves me correctly, after our last signing of previous transfer windows the official site normally says that we have made our final signing. This is not stated in this statement. Wishful thinking or a quiet nod to expect something else?

I'd have prefered it if McGarry was going as I think that Fitzpatrick is a better player who will improve over the next two seasons.

But how good is this Steaua team? I'm sure the Romanian guys around could answer that. Would they give the Old Firm a game ? If the answer is no, surely 'Well have reason for optimism.

28 - Glasgow Rangers
32 - Steaua Bucharest
48 - Celtic
If we can beat either half of the scum now and again then I don't see why we couldn't do the same against Steaua.

Do we need another midfielder? I'd have thought we would be looking for a defender and a striker.

I still believe Steve Hammell will play LB this season, although I think there could be times when he might be part of a 5 man midfield playing on the left as he can deliver a good cross into the goal area.
Don't get this he's past it/not good enough stuff being posted.

Unfair to comment on players after one match but I'll give you my initial impressions.
Humphreys. Sort of like O'Brien, fast, runs with the ball but no delivery. Was also poor in front of goal, had two excellent chances to score and should have put away at least one of them. Reasonable in the air and won a few headers. Was involved early on but faded out of the game possibly due to lower fitness level than the other players. To be honest I don't think he made much impact and the game sort of went on around him. You can see some potential there but could be the sort of player that causes a lot of frustration.
Jennings. Had a bit of a nightmare early on, hardly looked a player at all, slow, gave away possession, hardly any awareness of what was going on around him. Later he settled down a bit and looked like a slightly more restrained Maros Klimpl, not the greatest technician in the world but someone that will put in a shift and act as a ball winner. Fair to say I don't think he'll shirk many tackles. Again, his fitness was lagging behind most of the other players. Overall the better of the two but neither player had a huge influence on the proceedings, it was all about our young players last night.
can't disagree with you ya beezer, both looked like they could do a turn for us but as you rightly say the youngsters were all outstanding and deserve all the plaudit - long may it continue.

If he has signed so much for 'I don't want to uproot ma family'. It looks like money talks again, which I haven't a problem with but don't be a lying wee prick about it.
Think you are being a little harsh with you're comments nethertonwellfan, it could just be that no one up here (m'well included) were willing to pay the money he was looking for and so he had no option but to move south.
Also since I'd rather see him down south than playing against us i wish him all the best.
