So are you happy with our central defence then? You can trot out all the statistics you like but I'd much rather see the partnership changed. In those other 18 games we probably had our worst run of injuries to other key members of the team so it wasn't any surprise to have lost more games. We just don't have a dominant centre half who will muscle people off the ball and put his head where it hurts. How many times does Reynolds get pushed off the ball? He needs to bulk up if he's to become a good central defender. I'm happy with Craigan in the central defence but he needs someone beside him who has a bit of height and pace about him that won't be out muscled easily. I'm hoping Gannon can bring in someone to fill this role as MM saw that as a weakness in our team but didn't manage to bring anyone in over the course of two seasons.

Successful partnership? We've had probably one of the worst defensive records for the past couple of seasons. IMO that 'partnership' needed a good shake up.

It's been spoken about in the In's and Outs thread. I'm sure I heard it was £100K but it may be just paper talk. Don't think we can really afford to offload anyone else that is in JG's plans for the coming season. Still hopeful that we'll add to the squad before the deadline.

I'd be happy if that was true. An experienced, solid player.

Well done guys. Great experience for the young ones and no shame in being beaten by a team miles above us in quality. This should definitely help the guys come on and hopefully give them a big confidence boost ahead of the new season.

Did you actually think we would beat this mob? Unfortunately due to losing most of our team during the close season JG has had to bring in players and play them even though they are not up to speed. The SPL is our bread and butter and when we got drawn against Steau, in all reality, we didn't stand much of a chance. I'm sure these guys will be fit enough for the start of the season on the 15th.

These guys have only been here a few weeks and are way short of match fitness, Humphrey said as much in the papers today. We won't be playing this quality in the SPL so let's just see how the season pans out before rushing into things, eh no? 'Mon the 'Well.

Thankfully we won't be coming up against anything like this in the SPL. Still need to get a few more players in to help the youngsters out.
