  1. Jennings looks as though he'll be our midfield dynamo. Good work rate and strong in the tackle. In saying that I think he definitely needs this pre season as he looks unfit and overweight. Humphrey is like grease lightning but may be a bit lightweight for the SPL. Had a couple of good chances last night and didn't really strike the ball too well on both. I think he'll cause problems over the top with his pace and with a few games and a bit of experience under his belt may turn out to be a good find also.
  2. Not fit and overweight I thought but once he trims down and gets match fit he'll definitely do a job for us.
  3. Any leads as to who the new signing will be today? I'm hoping it's some kind of defender.
  4. Don't think Gannon will tolerate him if he doesn't. We'll just have to wait and see what player turns up, if he doesn't seem bothered he'll be out the door after a year but if he knuckles down and plays the way JG wants him to play he'll be rewarded with an extension. It's up to him I suppose.
  5. I've heard from someone who knew him at Kingstonians and thinks he'll do well for us. Box to box and can run all day apparently.
  6. Considering the St. Johnstone game is on the 15th I think we should have ample time to get over Europe.
  7. .....and it's in Compost Corner because?
  8. Superb performance albeit against a pretty poor side. Thought Jennings was about half a stone overweight and will benefit from a hard pre season but I think he'll do well for us in the middle of the park once he's fit. Humphreys was a bit light weight at times but is a flying machine and will do some damage if he gets his shooting boots on. Forbes and Slane were excellent and Hutchison isn't scared to put his head where it hurts. Thought Sutton had an excellent game without getting on the scoresheet but won lots of headers and linked the play really well. Craggs is out his depth with all these short passing plays Hopefully JG can get a goalkeeper, centre half and another striker in before the deadline. Maybe a bit optimistic on that front? Anyway, great to see the young ones doing so well and if we're able to bring in a bit of experience we might do OK this season
  9. Good wee interview from the BBC with JG. Click
  10. The same could be said when he joined Motherwell. He'll win about as much with Norwich as he did with Motherwell but with more money in his pocket. No problems with his move at all.
  11. League One on £7K a week though. More than any team outwith the Old Firm could offer up here. I'm sure Norwich will be making a big push this year to go straight back up. Just shows how we can't compete with the so called lower divisions in England in terms of wages. Good luck Hughesy, hope it works out for you down there.
  12. Oh well, we seem to have a lazy, good for nothing wanker onboard if you listen to the Northampton fans. Someone even thought he was the donkey of the season! Don't think for a minute they'd be up in arms spouting this pish if he really was that useless. JG obviously sees something in him and with the right coaching in the proper environment must think he can produce the goods for us. EDIT : Looks like Jay has a similar take on it.
  13. I'm sure JG wouldn't be bringing these players in if he didn't think they were better than what he has seen over the last few weeks. He's obviously assessed what we have and has brought in the players he thinks can improve on that. Nae worries from me about them being from the lower English leagues, some of the players already at Fir Park should be playing in the lower Scottish divisions!
  14. Nah, couldn't even attempt to convince anyone of my massive coke. Let's just hope he's the hard man of our midfield and can add that extra forward thrust we need.
  15. The plot thickens! Probably discard it though as he's at Fir Park holding a Motherwell top in the official photo.
  16. Heard a wee rumour about a midfielder called Giles Coke.
  17. Fuck me. Widnae like a 50/50 wi' yon man mountain!
  18. I've absolutely nothing to base this on but I would imagine the game will go ahead without any problems. I'm sure things will be sorted before Thursday.
  19. Don't suppose there are that many in our price range. I'd definitely want a creative guy onboard before the season starts though, hopefully a wee gem from the lower leagues of England that enjoys playing for peanuts!
  20. Bottom 6 in a rebuilding first season. Top six finish and a decent cup run next year!
  21. Not having a go just wondering how many people are that bothered about playing Wigan in a pre season friendly. Sorry if it came across that way.
  22. When I was at school (back in the 80's) I used to go to quite a lot of the reserve games. One memorable one was Mark Caughey scoring a hat-trick against Celtic in a Cup game and giving the two finger salute to the Celtic fans in the crowd! Also, dogging school for a Tuesday afternoon game and a wee spell in the Big Apple amusements was the dugs danglies.
  23. Who gives a flying fuck about Wigan anyway??
