Another bit of lazy journalism from the current bunch. Charlie Adams has left his job as Everton set-piece coach and wants to get into front line management and is being considered for the vacant manager’s position at Motherwell. I sincerely hope not!

It’s well seen it’s the close season because I’ve never read so much sh*te about players we are ‘rumoured to be talking to’ and which of the two OF Lennon Miller will end up with.

We’ve had a fair number of managers who were with the OF: Roger Hynd Davie Hay Jock Wallace Bobby Watson Tommy McLean Terry Butcher Stuart McCall. Alex McLeish Billy Davies The only one I had no time for was Jock Wallace who IMO was an ignoramus.

Michael Wimmer ‘officially’ resigned on 23rd May and walked straight into another job. That tends to suggest that he had already been making plans to leave long before then.

The yoked shirts which we wore between 1913-1924 were copied from Bradford City. Then from 1924-1928 Bradford changed to vertical claret and amber stripes and we also adopted these. Later in 1928 we introduced the claret band across the chest for the first time. It ‘disappeared’ for the first time in the 1970 season and its appearance has been sporadic ever since.
