  1. Yep, google translate sums it up beautifully - After a year of playing Legion Henrik Ojamaa change club. The representative of Estonia will be on loan for 12 months to Beitar Jerusalem. Israeli club has guaranteed the right of first refusal. 23-year-old went to the Polish before the start of last season with the Scottish Motherwell for 300 thousand. pounds. Ojamaa did not work in the Legion, and got the most opportunities. Taking into account all competitions, occurred in 44 of 51 games and scored just 2 goals. Mostly irritated selfish game. Henning Berg from the beginning of the spring round bravely put on him, but at the end of the season and the Norwegian lost patience with the player. Hence the decision that if you find a club willing to hire a helper, no one will be making his obstacles.
  2. That's it. We have absolutely no way of predicting our playing budget for the following year never mind 3 years down the line. It would be madness to offer contracts that we can't guarantee.

    Ideal Top Flight

Aye, obviously. Wouldn't begrudge the promotion of any team however some clubs do bring more to the league than others.

I really don't like them though. Really.

    Ideal Top Flight

We find out tomorrow if it'll be Hibs or Accies we'll be facing in the league next season and as much as I would love to see Hibs going down, I'd much rather they didn't. Despite being our local(ish) derby, Accies just don't excite me and they'll bring a pish support to FP which is a concern given our falling attendances. This got me wondering what everyones preferred 11 teams would be for Motherwell to face in the league, both in terms of the overall health of the top flight and also what's of benefit specifically to MFC and it's fans (bringing a good away support to FP, a good away day etc)? Personally, I think we do require the city clubs (Celtic, Aberdeen, Dundee United, Dundee, Hibs, Hearts and Partick) to be in the top flight simply because of the boost in overall attendances and they tend to bring better away supports. There's also a few derbies in there which keeps things interesting when we're not playing. I've intentionally left Sevco out because, despite the wealth they bring to the league I'm absolutely dreading them bringing their absolute drivel back to what has turned into quite an enjoyable league. Falkirk also have a decent following and have in the past brought decent crowds to fir park. They also have a healthy ethos of bringing youth through. St Mirren - Fucking hate that club but we do tend to take a decent crowd through which is always fun (even if we do tend to get scudded). Kilmarnock - A shambles of a club which isn't great for the league as a whole, but again we've taken some decent crowds there making for a good away day. As for the last club, I'd genuinely like to see Dunfermline or Ayr United in the top flight again. They're far bigger clubs than most the teams in the championship and are possibly bigger than ICT, St Johnstone or Ross County. Shame they're both in such a mess.
  6. Hmmm, I'd be surprised at that. Neilson has ambitions and came here to be the no 1. I actually feel sorry for the guy that it hasn't quite worked out but I do think if he's now 3rd in the pecking order he'll want to move on and get game time elsewhere.

    Board Statement

It's gutting that despite having the most consistently successful period of league placings in our history, the club haven't made any tangible gains in terms of longer term success or more financial security. A few more through the gate would have been a decent reward for all this success however, I do wonder if the drop in attendance is actually down to the increasingly poor away supports. It would be interesting to see if the number of home fans has changed much over this time.
  8. There is a lot of truth in that. Mccall gets it right far often than he gets it wrong, which is more than can be said for the majority of managers in any league.
  9. Wish somebody would put post match interviews and celebrations up forgot to record it
  10. Good post, although there is no way he'd be going from here to the English Premiership. Aside from the fact that achievements in our game arent recognised to any great extent down south, managing a squad and budget like ours is night and day from the multi-multi million pound squads down there. I can see him going to mid table championship at some point and I fear that it may be this summer. Hopefully our knack of failing to get any recognition at all for our success continues, but if Mccall gets the credit (and opportunity) he deserves, then he would leave here a hero in my eyes.
  11. Wee video I recorded from the stands today just after the final whistle.... best to turn your speakers down!
  12. Well, looks like we can add another few to this - League Runners up 2013 2014. Most post war top flight points tally (broken for the third year in a row I believe?). We've won 22 league games this season, I'm pretty sure this is a top flight record? Also, it won't have done Mccall's win % any harm either. I'll sit and work that out at some point.
  13. Full credit to the whole team, but I think today is a day where the defence can certainly stand up and take a bow. We weren't quite clicking going forward but the defence + hollis absolutely nullified everything Aberdeen could chuck at us (even if it was occasionally self inflicted). We wouldn't have got the three points today without some huge last ditch tackles from Hutch and Mcmanus and of course, arise Sir Craig Reid. Even before the goal, he was putting himself about and making it difficult for Aberdeen to play through the middle. It was also absolutely clear at the end how much this mean to Hutch, the guy was going mental. It gave me a glimmer of hope that he might stay.
  14. Not long back from the game. Quite possibly the single best moment in my 18 years of following Motherwell. Absolutely stunning.
  15. Just passed the team bus 15 minutes ago coming through dundee.
  16. St Mirren is steelboys club of choice. Slick passing football with no end result. He just loves seeing the club he loves fail, so he'll have a fucking field day following them.
  17. I'm not sure it's the lack of fast attacking midfielder that's the problem. We had Ainsworth playing a more central role (almost up top) for a while but we showed an absolutely inability to get the ball to him. Moore was also out wide in a lot of space but again, we just couldn't get the ball to him. In fact, we were unable to get the ball to any Motherwell player for the last 30.
  18. I think tonights performance almost epitomizes our entire season. It's not flashy or slick, it's certainly not full of pace or flare and we have rarely looked in control (in fact, we've rarely even looked comfortable) but for some reason which I can't quite fathom, we've managed to get the ball across the goal line more often than the opposition. I have no idea how but it's taken us to within a whisker of a 2nd place. It may actually be a bigger achievement than finishing 2nd with the strong, dynamic, pacey and skillfull team we had last year. Sometimes, football is just mental.
  19. Outstanding. Who says Mccall doesn't win the big games?
  20. Footballing oblivion by the looks of it. Doesn't appear to have a club after his meltdown.
  21. This is fucking exciting.

I don't know if pre-season friendlies are the games that will get kids hooked as they are often brutal and have no atmosphere. Games like Saturday when there is something huge to play for and we actually win, that's the games we'll get the kids hooked.

    Craig Reid

I'm surprised with the original post, but just goes to show how differently folk can view things. I think he's been tremendous at right back, he's got the pace and timing of tackle to stop most getting by him. Off the top of my head I can remember a couple of slack passes, but apart from that he's been absolutely consistent. As Tweed has said, a great bit of business by Mccall and certainly worth a deal.
  24. Wouldn't read too much into that. Between now and the start of next season they'll be linked to anyone who knows what a football is. From the odd soundbites I've heard from Nicky Law, his experience there doesn't appear to have been that positive so hopefully others will take a lesson from that.
  25. 7200 odd. About 250 St Johnstone fans so quite a turn out for us.
