  1. Games is on alba at half 5 but do they usually show them on iPlayer?
  2. Good article. Nice to see efforts getting recognised beyond our fans.
  3. Yep, although to be fair to him I don't think anyone explained the rules properly. It was a bit wee hectic as everyone was pre-occupied with the south stand burning down.
  4. I was the 'well fan last night who took part last night. The Hibs fan was actually a Stenhousemuir player, I didny stand a chance wearing converse gutties on that surface. Still made 50 quid out of it.
  5. This is true but I think each club/area has to be looked individually. Motherwell are the biggest and only SPL club in North Lanarkshire - population over 300,000. Add in the fact that half the fanbase are probably from south lanarkshire (again devoid of an SPL club) means the potential fanbase (in terms of being the most successful local club for many people) is 600,000. Granted that might be an optimistic way of looking at it (some might say clutching at straws) but it's got play its part in explaining why we are massively over-supported compared to those other clubs. I'm honestly not sure how they worked it. Can't find the article but I read one club had supporters place a deposit which was refundable should the scheme fail. Financially maybe not but there is the potential for it to be a bit of a fan relation disaster should it fail. There is also the logistical headache of getting guarantees that people will stick by written agreements, will there be refunds etc? Plenty of potential to piss fans off if it doesn't work out.
  6. Weesacs post in the thread about ticket prices got me thinking more about this and I've seen this mentioned a couple of times on here but for some reason it never generates any discussion. Thought it was worthy of a thread on its own. The idea is the club needs to raise a certain amount of money from season tickets regardless of how many are sold, therefore the more season tickets sold the cheaper they become. Therefore the club can advertise season ticket prices on the condition a certain amount are sold. It's been tried before at Bradford and a few other clubs in England, all of which have been hugely successful, most doubling or tripling their season ticket sales (meaning adult season ticket prices dropped to under £100 in some cases). I imagine the local community would buy into this if it's promoted properly and has the backing of the local media. It might catch folks attention if it's advertised as the "MFC campaign for cheaper football". Being the first club in Scotland to try this would also probably mean attention from the national media as well. I can imagine there would be a bit of a buzz round ticket sales if the club kept supporters up to date with sales and prices. So... why no?
  7. Always wondered if there was such a thing as football coaching for adults who are pish (i.e. me). Might try go along.
  8. About 15 quid is value for money. The risk is that the decreased income (unless of course attendances go up significantly to offset the difference) results in a further reduction in quality, and we end up feeling like that 15 is no longer value for money.
  9. Yip, but it's my understanding the club opened up discussion with that section of the support. Can only commend the club for taking a common sense approach, hope other clubs do the same.
  10. Canny argue with that. Not got a problem with Friday night fitba at all and that's a great incentive.
  11. I'd like to see some sort of official response from MFC on this. Remember, this is the same group of guys that have been constantly lauded by the club, Stuart McCall in particular, and to some extent by the media this season. It's also the same group of guys that spend a small fortune every week following the club. Another couple of bad experiences like this and I imagine that noisy section of our away support will gradually dwindle. As it's something that Stuart McCall has pointed out as having a massive positive effect on the team during away games I imagine it's in the teams best interests to have them there. A wee bit of support from the club here could be very important. I'm not even saying fire into Aberdeen all guns blazing, but at least show that the club are looking to establish the facts about this game and events at tannadice a few weeks ago in order to protect travelling fans in future games.
  12. Whens it open tomorrow? Anyone know?
  13. Ach, you might be spot on but that's boooring.

    Stevie Hammell

I can remember him even before then. Always looked a bit mental.
  15. Anyone had a bit of bother gettting the videos to load last night and tonight? Don't know if it's just my computer/internet or teething issues.
  16. Totally agree with that. I know fuck all about tactics but in my shitey opinion I think we simply aren't going to pass through a tight packed celtic defence so the only option is to draw them out, stretch them with the threat of pacey wingers and hit them on the break. That however it involves sitting deep for long periods against Celtic which will reduce the east stand tactical genuises to tears. They seem to think 'having a go' simply involves flinging men forward without thought to nullifying the Celtic players more likely to threaten or thinking about the most realistic way to break the team down. I'd love to be proved wrong by the way. If McCall starts with two up front and we win they fair play, the east stand genuises have been right for years.
  17. Hopefully they've had the response they were hoping for after putting a massive effort into this. Would be interesting to see how many subscribers they have.

When will the court case be finished? Can the losers appeal the decision? I'm wondering if this will actually be resolved one way or another before the end of the season. Even if rangers lose they will probably appeal against a points deduction, so could this whole thing potentially drag into next season? Could see them start next season on -25? I dunno how it works. Anyone?
  19. Absolutely amazing. The number 26 next to us on the league table is like a work of art.
  20. Absolutely spot on. I know some people are critical of his approach to OF games, but I think anything else other than realism, at least in public, is setting the players up for a fail. I'm pretty sure McCall will have instilled the belief necessary to beat this lot. Just depends which Celtic team show up. Wasn't there but I read/heard they played the best game of their season against us at Parkhead but since then things have gone from bad to worse. The difference is Celtic and Lennon need a win whereas with a target of top 6 we can afford to drop a shit load of points. Just hope the players are dreaming in the same way the fans are though. 1-0 to Motherwell.
  21. Motherwell vs Dunfermline bounce game highlights up. Good goal from Pollock.
  22. I think with the proper promotion and on the back of a succesful season (should it happen) this year then aye, I think we could get the interest. It's a brilliant idea and one I had read about before on these boards. The regular updates thing makes it quite exciting I imagine and would encourage more and more people to try get friends and family onto the bandwagon. It's not hard to imagine someone in the pub saying 'mon tay fuck lads, another 100 and I'll get another 50 quid off my season ticket'. If the club advertised it with aim of making an adult season tickets 100 quid I reckon we'd get enough of a push from current holders to make it happen.
  23. There goes my studying plans for the night. Enjoying all the interviews so far.
