Biggest attendance at FP that I can remember being a part of. The day 'The Unholy Trinity' put Fergies troops in their place within the first couple of mins.

Friday and Saturday look horrendous - max temp Sat -3 http://tinyurl.com/cshuol

Think you will find that in the three games you mention there was a common theme running through the shite....it was called Motherwell. In fact Dundee and St Johnstone were much better than us on the nights that we played them. Inverness was just one of those days when we could have played all day and not scored IIRC.

Pity the snow from earlier on this week didn't hang about. Back in the good old days it was the best pitch protection going, keeping the frost out of the ground, then everyone went down to FP early on matchday and took it all off, maybe getting a free pie into the bargain!! Players then stuck on the adidas trainers and away they went. The game's gone soft these days.

Wonder if the Daily Record will have a back page picture of Pearson in a Motherwell shirt tomorrow morning

So you are 59 next month as well

Loads of copies on eBay. Just type Peter Marinello into the search box

An absolutely brilliant read. He was a 'talent'

He played for MYPA47 against us in the Eufa Cup.

Airdrie v Stranraer 1963 postponed 33 times. Inverness Thistle v Falkirk 1979 postponed 29 times. Inverurie Locos v Motherwell 2009 postponed 3 times - a wee bit to go yet!!
-
Been on loads of times before over the last few years. Is this a new series or just a repeat run?
-
There is a difference between flippancy and realism. In the past bus companies were always helpful when it came to postponments, if you are repeatedly getting charged for hires that are cancelled more than 24 hours in advance then you should be looking at getting a new bus company to take you to away matches. I appreciate the frustration mate and was not having a go at anyone/anybody. Who knows how long this will go on.

So much for the romance of the cup eh? Those folk moaning about a couple of postponments should get a grip, this is the biggest match in Locos history, all the stuff about getting the match moved is nonsense. Airdrie v Stranraer 1963 postponed 33 times. Inverness Thistle v Falkirk 1979 postponed 29 times.

Meanwhile, the local branch of bookmaker Ladbrokes is offering 2-1 odds against a Locos win. Motherwell must be a bet and a half if those odds are anything to go by, either that or the bookies are at it.

Jim O'Rourke hat-trick IIRC.

Bet Paul Quinn will disagree with you on that one, especially late in the first half

Beating Hertz 4-2 after being 2-0 down early 70s Texaco Cup - remember it was more than a bit wild that night as well. Beating St Mirren 2-1 in front of 26 thousand plus at Fir Park - Feb 1977. That day will always stick with me, credit to the Buds who brought a phenomenial support through with them. Westfalenstadion Stadium - awesome, have to be say i enjoyed that more than Nancy.

Always have been - probably aways will be.

Is there two Hughes in the squad, there had better be !!!!

In the present financial climate attendances everywhere are going to drop. Look at just about everything else that you buy at the moment (fuel, food, house prices) it is coming down in price due to current trading conditions. Football sticks its head in the sand and does nothing (well apart from one club who decide to slash prices for a couple of clubs). Does football believe it is trading in a different market than the rest of the planet? Bottom line is that if you have the choice of feeding your kids/paying your mortgage or shelling out over inflated prices for the sub entertainment that now masquerades as the SPL then there isnt actually a choice to be made in the long run.

Thats what is so laughable about the whole 'Well Boys thing, it is as if these laddies are the first to actually do this kinda stuff at the club, they tend to get a but of publicity now in this age of t'internet, but it has all been done before. Most folk kinda grow out of it when adolescence kicks in a folk realise that football isnt the be all and end all when there are mortgages to pay and mouths to feed. Am not having a go at the laddies each to their own and all that.

Quite rightly so!!! Its called banter - get over it

As much as I agree with your sentiment, basic supply and demand logic dictates otherwise

I have been undecided about my renewal since 'the initiative' was first mentioned and proceedings at FP in the interim have done nothing to encourage me towards parting with my cash in the summer, indeed, I now feel so alienated from the club that I have followed for more years than I care to mention, that I have started to wonder whether I would miss going to matches or not, remarkably I am not that bothered at the moment. People on these boards are moaning about everything from A-Z regarding the club at the moment and rightly so, they are nothing short of a shambles on and off the field. The only way to hurt the powers at be is to hit them in the pocket, season tickets make up the majority of the clubs finances, if the amount of people who have claimed not to be renewing don't renew then there will be a big hole in the clubs finances. Of course, lack of finance equals lack of quality (are we not there already?) equals 1st division football, been there done that, not the end of the world. Time to put up or sell up board members.
