  1. Copied and pasted from 'Business end of the season thread' ************************************************* If things finish the way they are at the moment in the league and the fixtures are done the way that they are supposed to be done, we would take up Aberdeens final 5 fixtures and they would take on ours. That would see us at home to Rangers and Hibs and away for the other three. St Johnstone making the top 6 would throw a spanner in the works as they couldn't directly take on anybody elses fixtures. The SPL will probably prove me wrong again ************************************************** Giving us a 18H 20A season. Hope that I'm wrong

  3. You should have asked him to give a graphic description of the first 15 seconds of Joe Warks testimonial. Game kicks off ball goes back to the big fella who wheels rounds to pass it back to Stuart Rennie only to find out that he was standing about eight feet behind him, still the quickest own goal I have ever seen!!
  4. SSN reporter saying it was a shocking tackle, over the ball deserved exactly what it got!!
  5. After firstly hearing about Lanarkshires micro-climate on here, we now hear about the first known instance of vegetarian foxes............. This forum is indeed the fountain of all knowledge
  6. That will be easily solved, all we do is wheel out one of the HCCs 'Comical Alis' who will defend everything that is claret and amber related to the hilt even if it is plain wrong and let them loose on the media.
  7. Goan the MJC correcto again!!!!! Some folk on here need to take a reality check when it comes to supporting Motherwell
  8. Dunno about the team going up there with a 'Billy bigbaws' attitude, but some of the posting on here suggest that some of our fans are that way inclined The magic of the cup and all that ...............
  9. This is the same mid table first division team we struggled to beat only a couple of months ago

    New Manager

This will be the same John Boyle who had his own series rescuing troubled businesses a couple of years ago
  13. To the OP, how big is your picture frame? I've watched Motherwell for 35 years plus. All of our managers in that period appeared to have a short and then long term plan, whether good or bad, Gannon, short term done us a turn with no resources, but has seemed to be clueless over the last couple of months. Team selection.....suspect Tactics...............suspect Media interaction..suspect Deflection............brilliant If it ain't broke, don't fix it Jim.
  14. Fixed it for you!! Accies, Aberdeen and United, Forbes was subbed and the shape went pearshaped on each occasion. We seem to have a much better balance when he is on the field, this seems to disappear on his almost inevitable substitution. If he can't last a full game he should have been on the bench, or better still, being in for double sessions on his fitness levels.
  15. I agree with the vast majority of your post MJC, only bit I'd disagree with is the 'dreadful side' part. We are not the best or the worst side in the SPL. We are set up to play one way and find it very hard to adapt to teams changing their shape against us. Our manager doesn't help matters when he is prone to changing our shape for no apparent reason. Todays result flattered us no end. Anyone who sees that result will think it was a close game, it was anything but, on another day it could have been embarrassing, Celtic missed a load of chances, missed a penalty, should have had another two. We scored twice through right howlers by Boruc and Hinkel, credit to Lukas and Marky for sticking them away but they should never had the opportunity to do so. Line-ups, tactics and substitutions continue to be baffling, McHugh and Meechan should have been on the bench today albeit they played well, you need a bit of experience going in against any SPL side nevermind the one of the OF. JG sees the players on a day to day basis, he gets paid to get what he sees as the best team on the park every match. What is abundantly clear over the last half dozen or so games is that we are not as good as some people would appear to think we are. Next weekend is another one of those 'anything we get is a bonus games', but the festive period games are going to have a big say on how the rest of the season is going to pan out for us.
  16. Jim.....if you are reading this...(and you probably will at some stage!!!!) I am all for the passing game, in fact I am getting used to it, be truth be told! However, when the opposition goes down to 10 men, I expect a wee bit more adventure from the side, that is has not happened over the last couple of weeks, when the opportunity has arisen. Today, we had the opportunity to have a go at 9 men for 7 minutes plus injury time, during that time we proceeded to pass the ball all over the park, when what was was needed was the ball being launched intro the box and a few more players being committed forward into attack. We had the situation this afternoon in the last few minutes of United getting a hold of the ball and Motherwell players standing off them awaiting possession to fall back into their lap, so that they could start construction a beautiful 20 man move to win the game, sometimes the principles have to go out the window, when the opportunity rises!!
  17. His first one in midfield looked like he went down easy. The second one one looked like a stonewall pen, the ref bottled it as he was going to have to make a decision one way or the other. The second red was a yellow at best, Lasley got straight up from the tackle. Referee was poor today, but that shouldn't mask the truth!!!!!!!

    Aberdeen

Without trawling through the previous pages. I thought Aberdeen more than deserved their point today, they should have won it at the death to be honest. They were the better footballing side over the ninety minutes and so credit where credit is due. We are turning into the Man City of the SPL (without the cash obviously!!!), draw specialists. Believe me next Saturday will be a much more difficult test than today and if you gave me a point right now, I'd bite yer arm off.
  19. Merde!! Do folk not look at previous threads before starting a new one. And aye......it is a merdehole, but its our merdehole
  20. Eh?? how can he be a bombscare if he has been on the bench due to the good form of the youngsters?? Says a lot for us that he gets a game at international level but cannot get into our side at present.
  21. Two best Scottish keepers of the modern era were both looking for somewhere to hide at full-time
