  1. Today was our best performance since the first half an hour in Paisley in August. Game should have been put to bed by 3.15pm. Credit to all for keeping going and getting the result Had VAR not intervened and today had ended up a draw, or even worse, then the manager would have been copping some amount of flak on here tonight. But he can't be blamed for strikers who can't hit a horses erse with a banjo. Let's just take it and move forward
  2. 2-1 Saints, we always lose 2-1 in Perth. Where the goal is coming from, hell knows. OG it is then.
  3. There's FAR worse than McGhee out there at the moment.
  4. Another shocker of a goal lost. So fking easy.
  5. Killie are the latest team to realise that they don't play against dross like us every week. Aberdeen much in the same place, but rescued by VAR.
  6. I'm now 50/50 on the manager. A real lack of fluidity throughout our side. Once again the opposition didn't have to work for their goals today and Im not disrespecting Killie when saying this. But..... some of our 'established' pros need to take a massive look at themselves. I can accept being beat, but when players chuck the towel in with 20 mins to go then, that's a totally different matter. Goalkeeper needs a break, I know he's saved us so many times after losing stupid goals, but, you can't be guaranteeing the opposition a goal a game. We are so lucky that most teams in the league aren't picking up points at a faster rate. Three massive games coming up, it was four, but we've already made a balls up of the first one. I'm old enough and ugly enough to recognise that last year was a monumental success, however, that as a Motherwell team is an anomaly, five defeats on the bounce and the prospect of Hearts coming to town, should be sounding the alarm bells, even amongst the HCC.
  7. Been back a few hours, had a couple of beers to mull things over. Yes, we are a work in progress, however the progress looks painfully slow. Our plan A is all well and good when we are in control of games (Dundee Utd). However, the not having a semblance of a plan B when things go south is starting to become a recurring theme. We could have been 4 or 5 down today and you just know that we would be playing the same way. The last 5 mins this afternoon summed that up very well, bringing on a target man and spending most of the time turning round and trying to recycle possession (rinse and repeat). I am by no stretch of the imagination wanting the manager gone, he needs time. However, he also has to recognise that the current methods are just plain not producing results and things need to change in both the formation and personnel. I hope he is listening.
  8. RCC has put a lot more effort recently than Maswhinese, who is the one who should be on the bench for a spell. Manager needs to realise he sent it the wrong team/formation tonight and we suffered once again from having zero plan B when going behind. All the pretty stuff is well and good when you are running the game. Fair dues to Aberdeen for sussing us out so quickly tonight. Nowhere near as confident about Dens on Saturday than I was pre-match tonight.
  9. If you are going to play a get out of jail free card, make sure it is a good one
  10. The piss poor penalty, the sitter we missed shortly afterwards and the ten minutes before HT will all be swept under the carpet.
  11. That ten minutes before half time should be a concern. We've went from being totally in control of a match to running about like headless chickens for ten minutes. As usual people go directly down the officials route. All three St Mirren goals went to VAR before being awarded. As previously said, the writing was on the wall from about twenty five minutes into the game. Big turnaround required 2nd half.
  12. They can whistle the next time the buckets/emails come out for their next self indulgent TIFO.
  13. I've got to admit, that I am slowly falling into the ' can't be arsed anymore' category. Which, in itself is bewildering to me, as Ive been going for well over fifty years now and this season has been one of the best from a pure footballing perspective. Over the years, we got some absolutely stinking decisions against us and probably quite a few in our favour, which don't get memorised so much. However, the introduction of VAR, should have been a force for good, but has now became the antithesis of what it was supposed to be. Games are now being refereed from a secret broom cupboard somewhere, because the on field officials either cannot, or will not, make an decision or, in the few occasions that they actually call it, as they see it, have the balls to stick with a decision, when they are called the monitor to have another look. Modern day players add to this by going down at every opportunity, both sides were guilty of this yesterday and it seems to happen everywhere, every week. However, having a game re-refereed, five weeks after the event was a tipping point for me, we've all had our say, on what did/didn't happen that night. But I've always been in the 'when the full time whistle blows, then the game is over' camp when it comes to on field activities. Over officialdom is killing our game at an ever rapid pace and the people at the top need to get the message, but that message has to come from the fans and by that I mean every club, that is forced to use VAR on a weekly basis. Unfortunately, what should be an exciting post split period looks like a bit of a slog for me personally, however I very much doubt, I am the only one.
  14. Those of you of a certain vintage will remember that it was a home match against Dundee Utd that wrecked our last serious title attempt. If someone could keep the lightning away from Fir Park this weekend, that would be fine.
  15. A wee early heads up Just had a look at the Met Office 10 day forecast on You Tube. A fair chance of snow and below freezing daytime temperatures all of next week.
  16. Unfortunately Stefan passed away last year. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefan_Lindqvist
  17. Remember that time Brian McClair returned
  18. Nashville done OK for their first season in the 'Big time'
  19. Get onboard with Nashville SC, just tell the CEO that you know me and you'll be good.
  20. Plus ca change, Plus c'est la meme chose.

  21. Yip, you are correct, I forgot the next round was being drawn tomorrow. I'm just putting it down to an auld age brain fart.
  22. For that to happen, 22 out of the 26 seeds would have to lose in Round 2. Not happening.
  23. Miller was still in charge when we knocked them out the cup. Holt has went in there and got them playing a similar style to last season.
  24. This. The league performances since the triple header against Celtic have been well below acceptable limits. A lot of this was masked in the 2nd half of the season due to the Scottish Cup run. The same glaring deficiencies that were there last season are still there to be seen by everyone. Even that, shouldn't be held up as an excuse, A quick look at Livingston at the moment will show you what can be achieved by playing to your strengths and not by trying to hammer round pegs into square holes.
