On another note a crowd of 5,172 for the first day of the season should have the alarm bells ringing,even taking the ko time and live tv into consideration not many teams will bring the same support as Hibs (only going by highlights but it looked quite healthy)The trip and games against Odense may have forced some people to hold on to their cash but yesterdays game looks to have been a massive thumbs down for the noon kick off time.

Buying tickets to go to a match makes you a walloper? Is that not what the first game of the season is all about? its the one day everyone is equal and every fan of every team believes this will be their season.The day we accept we shouldn't compete with an average Hibs team is the day we should wrap it (only my opinion obviously)

Dundee Utd fans haven't laid out £30 for the two previous rounds we have had and Celtic will get 30,000+ whatever they charge so using them as examples won't change the fact that our reward for turning out for the previous rounds is an extra fiver at the gate

Financially it could be good for us but as a one off game it won't come close to a cup final

That thread came about because some posters (myself included)were happy to see Celtic getting cuffed in their champions league match.I stand by my opinions in that thread, if i have to sit and hope any other team except Motherwell wins then i'm not that bothered to be honest.I also know from experience that this point of view is deemed unacceptable but thats how i feel.

I don't think increasing crowds is the issue,just keeping the same numbers coming every week will be Motherwell's problem this season.A change to summer football might not work but we will never know if it is never tried but give me the choice of going out last night in a t-shirt or wrapped up like an eskimo come january i know my preference.

The weather has been wet the last month not cold as it will be nov-march, that makes a big difference as it is murder sitting on a plastic seat when you are frozen.We won't get 8000 every week but we could stay above 6500 which would be better than a lot of games last season.
