I fully expect us to come away with at least a point in this game, maybe three if we're on our game.
I'll be incredibly disappointed if we get humped as usual.
-
How long before we see an article in the press this week linking one of our players/manager to a club down south after our "surprising" start to the season? <_>
-
The 'fishel Twitter feed and the RSS feed on the main site are actually doing not a bad job of highlighting new content on the MFC TV site for now. But I'd still trust an automatic feed a bit more not to miss anything...
I find myself checking it on a daily basis now anyway. The channel is the fucking business in my opinion, and helps provide us with the coverage that the Scottish media refuses to give us.
Christ, if they're still discounting us when we're 2nd in the league then we really have no chance of getting the recognition we deserve.

Good stuff from the BBC - Chris McGlaughlan "and Celtic slip further behind Rangers"
And the invisible team ya c**t
Did you listen to any of the Motherwell vs Inverness commentary on the BBC site? I listened for 15 minutes before remembering that MFCTV does live commentary.
I've never been happier to switch over. The commentary was fucking terrible on the BBC. They give us no credit at all, and completely dismiss us as the 2nd placed team in the SPL.

Superb! I've been hearing for weeks about how Rangers manage to win games they don't play well in, and "grind" out results.
We've just did that today. These kind of games are the ones we need to win.

Champions League Quals here we come

Ah! it takes a while for news to filter thru to Wishi
It was changed weeks ago

I'll still be sticking by my opinion that any money we have to offer contracts should be kept for a striker in January.
Unless Hughes is willing to come in on a squad players wage, of course.
-
You'd be as well going to that game in your garden, we play Celtic on the 6th.
Was the game switched? Or has it always been the Sunday? I could have sworn it was the Saturday
-
Have I just read a positive comment on this forum?!!
It doesn't count if it's coming from someone who is usually positive!
-
I've never gotten my head around this idea that supporters of Scottish clubs (Motherwell in this instance) are simply going to give up supporting their team because they can watch Man Utd or Liverpool on Sky Sports.
You could set up a match between Barca and Real Madrid in my back garden for November 5th and I'd still rather go to Fir Park and watch us cuff Celtic.
-
Hughes would give us another creative weapon and might even free up Murphy a bit more.
If he were willing to come in on a squad players wage then I'd agree 100%.
-
As far as season tickets go, I doubt the club really can do much more. The deals we get at present are among the best in the division are they not?
-
Al B's lineup shows how he could improve the starting eleven at present.
In theory, yes. The bottom line though is that our current midfield has got us to 2nd in the league table. We don't need to change anything.
If someone like Jennings were to leave in January, then fair enough, but as things stand I don't see McCall changing the midfield and I don't think we should be looking to pay the kind of wage that Hughes would possibly want for a player to sit on the bench.
There are better areas for that money to be spent at present.

Just to be clear, I have no problem with having to pay for content video interviews etc which have never been provided before. The only thing I was hinting at was I would hope that regular text content is still provided by the official site, and not everything shipped over to welltv.
I don't think that'll be the case to be honest. The site will still be looking to retain its place in the Motherwell media machine.
Seriously though, I've seen and heard a lot of moaning about this MFCTV thing taking ages to set-up etc (not from you personally, by the way), so if anyone can, cough up the cash and help make it a success.
The fact that it's pretty fucking excellent helps as well.

Our squad is small, but so is the club's budget. If we were rolling in it, I'd welcome back Hughes in a heartbeat. But we're not. Midfield is about the one area we do have strength in depth, so why spend a sizeable amount on a players wages for cover we don't need? If Jennings and Lasley get injured, Law can drop into the middle and Forbes can come in. If Murphy and Higdon get injured, McHugh's leading the line himself, and while I rate him highly, he's no superman. Come january, I think that cash will be needed for a bit of cover up front and at the back. Because we have a small squad the club needs to be very careful about getting the right balance of players in.
This post hits the nail on the head for me. Hughes won't come cheap, and I don't think we should be paying first team regular wages to someone who really wouldn't improve our starting eleven at present.
We have other areas to strengthen before midfield.
-
Same team. 2-0 victory. Higdon and Law. Simples.
Lets fucking hope so.

Noticed the Steph Hughes news on the official and saw its exclusive to 'Well tv. Is this going to be standard practice from now on? Don't want to sound like every other Motherwell fan - e.g. a moaning c**t, but I already pay my season ticket & Sky subscription, really can't be arsed/justify paying another fiver a month to get club news!
You pay for your season ticket to watch the team play, and your Sky subscription really has nothing to do with the goings-on at the club.
If you want the info and the video interviews that the likes of Sky most likely wouldn't be arsed covering, cough up the fiver.

Scotland has 5 berths. 2 Champions League (1st & 2nd), 3 Europa League (3rd, 4th and Scottish Cup).
A Europa League spot is what we should be aiming for now in my opinion. A win over a team like Inverness is vital.
-
If we did have some cash sitting that could be used on a contract or two, do we really need another midfielder?
Aren't there a few other positions that we should be looking to fill instead?
-
Aye, it was probably all bollocks from the Celtic end to honest, eh? There were that many stories doing the rounds that I didn't know what to believe.
Still, he's all signed up down south now and won't be returning in those hoops to darken our doorstep any time soon.
Here's hoping his next move brings him back to Fir Park
-
A fit Stef Hughes would walk into the team.
Who would he replace in our midfield?
-
Does anyone know which league positions will ensure European football next season? We have two Champions League slots, aye? Does that mean we have third & fourth place guaranteed a crack at the Europa League?
-
He's a decent player is Hughes, but I'm not sure that we're the club he'll be looking to join. Our midfield is pretty stacked when it comes to our first eleven every Saturday, so I don't think regular football would be offered as much as he'd maybe like.
As a squad player though? I'd take him back tomorrow.
