Does anyone know how long his contract has to run?

Assuming that young Murphy decides to see out this season with us, what do you think he's capable of accomplishing? Is this his year to be a breakout star? Will he eventually get the international recognition that some think he deserves already? Going by what I've seen thus far, and it has only been one league game and a few pre-season matches, I think he looks as though he ready to step up to the plate and become a real star this season. I just hope he's sensible enough to recognise that another season with us is what he needs at this point in his career.

Not meaning to sound nasty but I'm glad to hear that. I've not been overly impressed by him, but hearing he has an injury suggests there's better to come.

An absolutely superb first half performance! We took the foot off the pedal 2nd half right enough, but Inverness didn't really have anything to offer. Lasley's goal must be an early contender for goal of the season?

That would be good in theory, but I'm not sure if the club would be up for upsetting the few fans who actually pay their money for season tickets by simply moving them. They would have to ask them, and I doubt many would be up for moving. I wouldn't move, for example, but I'd be happy enough to get involved. I just don't fancy moving to the end of the east, or being the only berk in my area to stand up and start singing

I agree. A more central area would help fans to both right & left get involved more. Not sure how possible that is though.

A nice sunny morning, no hangover to speak of, and the season starts at Fir Park in a 3pm kick off! Does it get any better than that?

What about delayed match coverage? They have that kind of thing available on Liverpool TV, don't they? If they were to show the full 90 mins of every league & cup match 48 hours after it happening that would be pretty cool.

We shouldn't be looking at risking any of the first team in a pre-season kickabout in Shotts three days before the season starts anyway.

I was going to go, but it is a hell of a jaunt from Wishaw to Shotts at that time of night, especially without a car.

I think an adult looks more presentable wearing a football shirt with a pair of jeans than those you see cutting about in full tracksuits. The only grown men who should wear a tracksuit in their 30's & 40's are members of the Mafia.

And so it begins... It doesn't seem that long since I got off the bus in the pissing rain after watching us get beaten in the final, yet a new optimism is in the air! I can't see anything other than a victory for us in this game. If we play half as well as we did against Leeds (before we started making changes, of course) then I don't see us having much of a problem. As I've said elsewhere, if we can retain the services of Murphy beyond August I think we'll be more than a handful for any team going forward. The defence does concern me right enough. Hopefully McCall has a signing in mind as the English sides confirm their squads towards the end of the transfer window. Still, I think we'll have enough to get 3 points on the board nice & early.
