Haha so what point are you trying to make? Over the course of one season, they were extremely lucky? We're they lucky to draw with Athletico Madrid at the weekend as well?
-
Are you seriously suggesting that Hearts or Dundee Utd would finish sixth in the Spanish league?!
-
Are you fucking kidding? I thought at the time it was a ridiculous decision by the linesman and having just seen it on the replay I'm even more convinced. You can't blame blatant incompetence on the part of the officials, on our defence. We didn't play to our potential tonight and that's frustrating. But considering we were playing against a team who finished sixth in La Liga, then we definitely didn't disgrace ourselves. Bit of perspective required from some of the morons on here and in the stands tonight.

Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
Wearethemotherwell replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
There's a difference between financial mismanagement and blatant cheating. Rangers bought players they couldn't afford and gave players contracts, that they knew they wouldn't be able to honour, at the same time as not paying a single penny in taxes. What happened at our club was wrong but to attempt to make a comparison with that and what's gone on at Ibrox is well off the mark. -
Class video. Are you mad bastards going to be at Ibrox on Saturday? Might be tempted to end my self imposed exile for a 90 minute perty!
-
Remember collecting them from a portacabin which was just across from the away stand entrance. Not sure if it's still there though.

8 extra games isn't a massive amount to schedule over eight months. Plus the Swedes have major tournaments to worry about...not as big an issue for us the now.
-
Can see what you're saying mate but it works perfectly well in the Scandanavian countries. Just doesn't sound practical to me, that we play fitba when the weather is normally the shitest it's been all year and take a break when it's at it's best.
-
Oh aye good point mate, hadnae thought of that. Far better to play in the pissing wet cold in October, November, December, January and February, so that we can hopefully get a wee sunny day to finish the season off in May. Summer fitba, what a stupid fucking idea.
-
You're never going to guarantee decent weather in Scotland but its pretty reasonable to assume that generally the conditions would be better May - Aug, than it would be between Nov-Feb.
-
Not neccessarily. Could quite easily play a few more midweek games and run the season from Mar-Oct. Our weather is by no means the best and playing in spring/summer does not guarantee that we'll be playing in perfect conditions week in week out but there is absolutely no logic in scheduling fixtures when our weather is at it's worst. Don't think that it's a coincidence that within minutes of the game being postponed our Director and both Hammell and Lasley all posted on twitter about the need for summer fitba. As the previous poster said - it's a no brainer.
-
He really is a grade A c**t. Useless in charge of the SFA and nothing in that interview suggests to me that he's not the arrogant prick that he showed himself up to be. He (along with the SPL) are trying to portray themselves as some sort of business mavericks and us fans are brainless twats who've never heard of a balance sheet. Short term we get a slightly better TV deal but attendances are already dwindling and will plummet even further if the ten team deal gets the go ahead - then what Gordon? We're fucked, totally fucked and none of these morons seems to grasp that.
-
Sixteen team league, play each other twice, season starts in March and ends in November. There's yer dinner. No repetitive shite and bigger crowds due to playing when we've got half decent weather. Should also apply right down to boys club level. Baffles me that we ask wee boys to attempt to play and train when our weather is at it's worst.

Details of semi final dates here....http://www.scotprem.com/content/default.asp?page=s49

Craig Brown = great appointment. Tons of experience, last manager to lead Scotland to a major finals, highly respected in the game, good tactically and has a strong network of contacts throughout Europe. ...Posh Spice is a slapper, she goes around the toon and when she's shagging Beckham, she thinks of Craigie Broon!
-
Somebody correct me if im wrong but sure i heard on saturday that tickets will be available on the gate. Hopefully get decent crowd through. Train at midday, potential to be absolute mayhem.
-
Totally agree with everything said in your last 2 posts mate. Aye, think we'd all be first to admit the paedo chants weren't in the best taste and possibly wee bit OTT but by no means any worse than whats been sung up and down the country, aberdeen fans have even been laughing at some of the abuse dished out to their manager. It appears that a lot of our own fans have been getting their knickers in a twist over an incident which has been dressed up by the media and is already yesterdays news. I think there's a lot more things that need to be sorted in Scottish football rather than worrying about a group of guys on the bevy singing about mark mcghee having a penchant for wee boys.
-
Maybe to bring bit of context to it, Aberdeen fans views on tartan army board... 'Oh aye, and Mark McGhee has guaranteed the same reception from Motherwell fans next time the clubs meet by showing the world his big petted lip. Was he expecting an ovation from the Motherwell fans or what?' 'In truth I think it was the song about "you'll never get to Celtic" and "you're just a sh*te Tony Mowbray" were what upset him the most. Quite an impressive selection of Mark McGhee songs coming from the South Stand. All perfectly audible from the home dug out! If he'd had any sence he'd have laughed it off...' 'I didn't hear anything sectarian. And given that I understood almost everything I heard its a pretty cheap card to play by the Sunday Mail. A classic example of media "whataboutery" I think...' 'I would guess that there are far bigger fish to fry in terms of sectarian abuse, ( and just for the record, I never heard anything of the sort from the Motherwell fans either, albeit I am at the opposite end of the South Stand, although that's not to say they didn't ) therefore lets see the powers that be tackle that first in terms of credibility, rather than 'picking' on the easy targets. In the end I should think that this is all paper talk, as it could be sorted in a heartbeat if the SFA/League really wanted to - we know it, they know it!'
-
I don't buy into the argument that scotland didn't approach him - what did he want a fcuking fanfare on his 15th birthday from the SFA?! Also read recently that 2 other hamilton youth players aged 14 and 15 have chosen ROI due to scotland showing no interest in them - I mean again what do these kids expect? Do they want the SFA to speak to every single youth player in the country and say 'Aye no bother wee man, stick with us and we'll give you a cap' -get fcuking real! If you're scottish, you're scottish and if you're good enough you will get picked for your country. Guys like Paul Hartley and Barry Robson didn't get picked til their late 20's, if these d1cks want to go whoring yourself out to other nations at the age of 15 then frankly i wouldn't want them anywhere near the scotland team and they deserve all the abuse they get and to reiterate its not racist/sectarian abuse, the same way as Kris Boyd/Burton O'Brien have been abused for turning their back on their country.
-
I echo that. Nothing sectarian about it, the boy will get pelters and he fcuking deserves it. Well fans will get behind the team but that shouldn't make mccarthy exempt from any abuse, i don't agree with his decision and i'll be making those feelings well known on sat. If the media chose to pick up on it that's their issue but i'm sure there are much more serious issues in scottish football rather than booing a scotsman for choosing ireland, that that they'll conveniantly choose not to cover.
-
Where has all this motherwell are anti-catholic rubbish came from? I think i speak for the majority of Motherwell fans by saying i hate the old firm in equal measure and I hate everything that they stand for and at no time in supporting Motherwell have I seen favouritism to one or the other. Start of the thread questions o'brien and sheridan topics - what about when bob malcolm signed and the abuse that he's taken since, does that make us a 'tim' club then because we gave an ex rangers player stick, or did that go unnoticed by the bigot police on here? Once again too many people with too high opinions of themselves trying to highlight a problem that doesn't exist.
-
I'd sing 'you're in the wrong fcuking country' as technically he is in the wrong country, nothing bigotted about it. He chose to play for ireland over scotland and sums up the majority of what is wrong with the west of scotland and before anyone gets on their high horse i'd sing exactly the same if someone opted to play for n ireland or england. I couldn't give 2 fcuks what hugh keevins or any of the other pandering to the old firm journalists have to say, the guy turned his back on his country and deserves all the abuse he gets.
-
Get off your high horse mate. Too many people quick to point the finger at folk on this site to try and make themselves look like saints.
-
Ha ha think i've been rumbled. Must admit that i don't agree with jim o'brien's decision to play for ROI but i'll always get behind all motherwell players and to be fair to jim he's looked impressive recently. Hopefully sheridan can do us a turn as well.
