We were second best but 4 cleared off the line and three identifiable errors for the goals conceded. Could have been different. Their disallowed goal looked ok though.

And I thought Lionel was going to squander his chance, his burst of pace to get the ball then round the keeper then he ended up wrong side of the post. Glad he was able to retrieve the situation.

Lucas made one mistake in the second half where he was caught in possession but other than that he looked to make a pass and showed how simple it could be, very impressed. After sharing my thoughts on McManus during the week I thought he did ok today, still fiddled with his socks though.

In terms of exceeding expectations Lucas takes it, obviously tired, nearly signed off with a classic goal.

The bit of play in the first half when Lucas stroked it about involving a number of players looking for the opportunity to play it forward was applauded by the crowd. Who knew we had such a cultured fan base. Good to see.

The problem with McManus is that the idea of him does not match the reality. A big powerful ex-international, what's not to like? I now have an irrational dislike of him so much so that him pulling his socks up after every play is beginning to annoy me.
