I am tempted to start Thomas but, if not, giving him the full second 45 would continue to ramp up his involvement in the team without putting the pressure of being the saviour on his shoulders.
The first goal at Hamilton also, Reid was done for pace and position, the only player able to get across to close Imrie down was McManus but he just jogged back.
Went for O'Brien for his work in the first half, but it's also one of the first times I have seen Law put a shift in. It's fair to say that the only excitement was when Ojamaa linked with Ainsworth. More of that.
We need a win, we should win, but County are due a win too. I expect them to finish the season more strongly than St Mirren. We may need to wait til the following week for our win.
Lasley was the man who was up with Erwin at the end when he chose to go for the curler. If he had slipped Las in there would have been a better chance of a goal. However he may have taken Lasley's finishing into consideration.
So many goals we have conceded this season have been when the opposition have waltzed through the defence and ended up one on one with the keeper, result always a goal. Not today. Great performance. Perhaps if the defence stayed out the box Dan would have half a chance at the corners too.
I always marvelled at the number of times McCall had a sub stripped and standing on the touchline (usually Kerr) when we lost the killer goal in a match. Couldn't believe it when Black carried on the tradition.
I assume Angol was injured?
Throughout the good times in recent times McCall would not put a youngster on for the last 10 minutes whether the game was won or lost, Black has the same blind spot it would appear. Is that not the way to blood a youngster and see how he copes with it?
