  1. Pretty sure he knows a good bit more about business& industry than a bunch of fannies on the internet
  2. Sounds a belter Gutted
  3. Would that be a covering the bases signing for when Turnbull inevitably moves on be it the summer or next year some time?
  4. Why not? I think he has been great for us in the last 3months and dont doubt he can step up...... has he shown any potential suitors enough??
  5. Obvious troll post is still an obvious troll post despite Ayiribi's non performance on Saturday. Keep fishing
  6. I have zero understanding of what we pay our players but I can't imagine we were offering him £1k per week just now. Do we really pay youths breaking into the first team £52k per year? My guess is that the Rangers wages, absolutely dwarfs what we offered him, much more than double or *4. I could be completely wrong however! *Hopefully Turnbull isn't too gutted/green eyed by his pals fortune
  7. I get what you are saying - that we have harder fixtures. However, if we can hit the level of performance that we did in the first half against accies, then i don't think we should fear any team in this league at Fir Park. Rangers and Aberdeen are certainly beatable
  8. So have we just saved £2k per week on McCormacks wages? If so then surely we can up Hasties offer so it is line with what his pals are getting (if rumours on here are to be believed)
  9. I think everyone just needs to wait and calm down. Given the headlines, then of course there is a very good chance that we lose him, and whilst it is disappointing, we have lost better players than Hastie before, and lets not forget, we have kept hold of Turnbull and he is the playmaker. Also, before we all get our panties drenched, what are the chances that Rangers have offered him a contract and the tabloids automatically write it as Rangers set to sign Hastie?? Lets not judge the lad until the deal is done. Maybe there is an element of creative journalism at work here, wouldn't be the first time.... or perhaps thats just the optimist in me. Regardless, the boy has done exceptionally well in the last two months and it will be a shame to see him go anywhere so soon.
  10. If Tam Cowan still frequents these boards I hope he reads your post and maybe uses that last line next weekend. You have hit the nail on the head right there!
  11. We are going to hear about this for the next 4 days on the radio and written in the papers. Just a shsme we didnt get a point out of them. Fuck them! In the last week these cunts have smashed up seats at Killie, dished out sectarian abuse to a player, launched coins at that player and been out fighting the polis in Spain........ and eh, we are the bad guys And thats just this week, never mind casting our minds back to Sinclair cheating in the league cup final last year.
  12. Turnbull no doubt had similar offers to what Hastie will be getting and we kept him. I seem to remember that his contract negotiations ran on for an age as well. Best not panic, what will be will be and all that
  13. Serious question -what sort of wages would an up and coming youth at Motherwell who is just breaking into the first team be on? Presumably he's still getting paid what he's been on the last few years and it will be pretty low? I expect a proper first team wage at Motherwell would be a good step up for any of these lads, but the eyes must start bulging if a Leeds or Norwich dangle a wedge.... We would all be the same, particularly at that age. Yes, we might start weighing up opportunities, family ties, development, first team football etc but if you are a 19 year old on a couple of hundred quid a week (i have no idea if this is anywhere near accurate) and a big Championship club drop in and offer you £2000 - £3000 per week? Then it would be hard thing to knock back for anyone, let alone a 19 year old.
  14. Tam Cowan just said that we are apparantly miles apart from what we have offered Hastie and what he wants.
  15. I was livid at the performance on Saturday, but what a turn around that was last night. Robinson showed some balls, dropping the older underperformers and giving the young boys a shot. He got rid (in the main) the long ball and had the team attempting to play fast, flowing football. I thought we were excellent in the first half and for the first time in a while, enjoyed watching it. Yes, we had a bit of a dip in the second half but give them time. What a goal that was as well. Fast, attaching football and a one touch finish. Superb! Great team effort all round but really enjoyed watching Campbell, Turnbull, Hastie, Grimmy and Aribyi lastnight. If these guys can keep that form up, we should have a good run to the end of the season. (Just a shame we don’t have a shot at Hampden to look forward to)
  16. I dont expect us to be world beaters, i expect some determination and application. Some of our gripes in the last two seasons is that we line up with a team of cloggers and play hoof ball. Well yesterday was different. We lined up with Turnbull, McCormack, Frear, Ariyibi, Johmstone, and yet we still resorted to tried and tested hoofball. Questions can certainly be asked of fitness and lack of dig in the middle supporting these guys, but in terms of ability, we had enough on that park to run rings around County. The problem is, that we didnt even try. The manager has to shoulder the blame for that.
  17. Complete dross! Im usually in the glass half full camp but thats enough for me. Style and tactics have been brutal for too long but today i had some optimism going to the game with the new players and what seemed an adventurous line up with football players........ Sadly after 5minutes it was obvious that despite the formation, the tactics remained the same. Big high balls over the top. Not intent to try play through the middle or down the sides, no attempt to get our footballers (Turnbull, McCormack, Ariyibi?, even Freer) on the ball. McCormack may have been unfit but there was nothing for him today as the ball was continually launched over the top. The players on the pitch lacked desire and to be honest, in the second half looked as though they had no clue! That was a deplorable performance and baws need booted both in terms of the management and the players. Iv been reasonably supportive of Robinson but after that, thats me in the get him to fuck camp.
  18. By all accounts Luton have been playing some flash expansive football. If they come and poach our gaffer, their fans are in for a shock!
  19. Moult didnt play for a month after signing for preston as he was still coming back from his injury. I think it was a hamy/calf injury?
  20. So just incase anyone picks up the wrong end of the stick, Aldred didnt quote what you said, above, but rather the text above that.
  21. Bowman was a worker, but lets not pretend he was any good at football. Im actually pleasantly surprised anyone sees enough to pay a fee for him! Saying that, he goes with good wishes. He fair put in a shift which is more than can be said for some of our other current crop, and he was able to play the perfect foil for Moult.
