The SPL will take no blame over us ground sharing with Gretna, it was our choice to take money from gretna to let them play at Fir Park, no ones fault but ours!!!!!

Must say I think it is time for us to consider approaching the SPL and asking to relay our pitch with the same quality astro turf Accies had. Although there would be an initial outlay in the long term this would be very cost effective – · No under soil heating costs · Get rid of our incompetent ground staff · Use pitch to train on, no hire costs for training grounds · Income from hire of pitch to public/other teams e.g. juniors, schools pub teams etc, could play games on it 7 days a week , four games a day. Any problems with the pitch not being suitable for euro games, when we qualify again!!!, we could easily hire Airdrie’s ground again, Let’s look into this as our pitch is a total disgrace and is only getting worse.

My personal highlight of the decade was stepping off the plane in France and the buzz of knowing I was fulfilling a dream of watching Motherwell play a competitive game on foreign soil the whole trip was unforgettable. Also went to Wales, outstanding as well. The low was the passing of Uncle Phil, was at the game that day with my young son who was 6 at the time, will never forget it, knew at the time something bad had happened, went and stood outside at his funeral, hit home that he was roughly the same age as me and him having 4 kids while I have 3 made me appreciate what I have and I suppose how easily or suddenly that can all change.

Just a short note to thank everyone at Motherwell involved in the function we were at yesterday (Sunday). My brother held my nephews christening party in the Centenary suite yesterday and it was a fantastic day out. Great food and excellent service at the bar. I would especially like to thank Dougie Arnott, he was exceptionally nice and spent time to mingle and talk to everyone there, he also took us on an unofficial improvised tour of the dressing rooms and out onto the pitch and dugouts and made the day for my 8 year old son, Dylan, by giving him a ball that he signed and posing for countless photos. What a guy, can’t thank him enough and would definitely recommend using the function room for any event you have in mind. Thanks again Dougie and staff.

while we are on the subject and someone has mentioned smoking I am almost ready to go against all my personal morals and grass some people up to the police or our hopeless stewards. At the last home game against Hibs I had taken my two boys to the game, don’t take them all the time but felt it was a good game to go to. At half time took my two lads to the toilet; they are aged 8 and 4. Being the age they are especially the wee one they prefer to use the cubical. So we stood outside the two cubicles and waited our turn, this seemed to last for ages and the wee one not having the best bladder control was getting desperate, I chapped the two doors and asked if they were going to be long as I had a kid with me that needed a piss urgently, fair enough one door opened and three guys in their 30’s came out while putting their fags out. A fucking disgrace, don’t get me wrong I have nothing against smoking, my wife smokes (not in front of the kids) and I am an ex smoker, I am not complaining about smoke in the toilets but about these pricks hogging the toilets and causing a queue due to their inability to wait and smoke outside like the probable 100’s of other smokers that can. Stewards do your job and sort this out, because if my boy pisses himself because he can’t get into the toilet I will be fucking raging

What I meant was dealing with racist or sectarian shouts and chants or missile throwing should take priority over wee lads standing. However that would possibly mean a steward approaching someone over the age of 16, not going to happen they will just deal with the stand up sit down carry on.

exactly mate hear alot of bad stuff at fir park but not my job to police it, i've paid to come in and watch the game, there are people ( stewards and police) that have been paid to deal with this. if they did their job there would be no problem, however they are more interested in taking the easy option of telling wee boys to sit down rather than dealing with real crowd problems.

having 3 kids myself i know how worring things like this can be. hope it all turns out ok for you Chris and your family.

Really don’t think we should be letting hamell go either for nothing or whatever, think we have to hold onto a few experienced lads and not go entirely with youngsters and new buys, would fear the worst for this year if that is the case.

listen, think you all need to get a grip lads. if the game is at their football ground it holds what? 3700, their average support is 350 per game even if their is a bumper turnout of 1000 we will all get in that leaves us 2700 cant see them having a 1000 at the game or us taking any more than 2000 odd. if the game is at the rugby ground it hols 15,000 i think we will never in a month of sundays fill that. no problem at all for tickets.
