  1. our season tickets are excellent value when you compare them with all the other clubs in the spl. This year its even better, for me anyway, cos of the elevate scheme that means i can get my daughter her first season ticket. So basically saving that £50 meant i could afford mine this year Only problem i have is i work a lot of saturdays and sunday evenings. So i only get to about 10 home games a year. Still find that having a season book encourages me to get to as many as i can. what they are not tho, is excelllent value when you compare with other "entertainment packages" for £225 you can get a cineworld card and watch as many films as you want every day for £150 you can get a family of 4 season ticket for M+Ds and go every day it is open. for £157.20 you can get a membership of all the swimming pools in south lanarkshire and go as often as you want. etc etc football in our country is simply overpriced but until we get better sponsorship deals/tv money there is no way the clubs can look at price reductions as they would never be able to remain competitive.....just look at how difficult it already is to keep our players against the lower leagues of engerland
  2. Big difference is that in the "good old days" we never got so much football on telly from all the many multi angles and over analysis. So us old guys can only go by our memories, just like we did at the time. But at the time there was as much abuse dished out to our players for lack if skill than there is nowadays As for the Scotland side it was simply that other countries were so far behind us. The scandanavian countries were our feeder leagues and an easy draw for clubs or country and there were not as many "countries" as there are now with their much larger populations than us football is a totally different game than it was in the 60s/70s and you cant really compare players from the past. Good defenders of old would last about 1-2 tackles before getting sent off Flying wingers from the past would not be able to pass any modern defender at ease Silky midfieldes would not have the time to find space and get a pass off
  3. is it blame game time? The Odense players were crowding round the ref and jamie was away from them with the ball. their keeper went to see the square go between craig and their "sporting director". It stopped the game for about 3-4 minutes but i didnt see them trying to have a square go with jamie. Tom hately and a couple of others were trying to calm them down but it was far better for our players to stay out of it. Pity jamie missed the pen cos he really deserved a goal last night for all his hard work
  4. we would all love to be able to afford to go to the away legs. The reason a lot of us cant is simply cos we cant afford to. So you really want the club to reward the fans that are rich enough to get to the away legs?
  5. its not the clubs fault about no concessions for oaps ots teh rules of the comp that only juvenile concessions apply. I'm skint but cant see the problem with the extra £5 for this round. How much did the tickets against staeu cost us last year? I just hope we get a good result tonight so have all to play for in front of as big a crowd as we can for the return
  6. is there any way to get a dvd of the game from wednesday night ?
  7. good call on friday jay. Buddha was certainly with us on Saturday with all that Karma. or was that just mcGhee in the dugout eating another pie
  8. was it not from Craigans free kick that our first goal came from ?
  9. I was wonderring how many defeats we would need to turn JG back into the messiah. To change the way things were done he needed to include the senior players and get them onside. That is his serious flaw in football management. His inability in man management. He could have done the much needed changes with their help rather than a feck them I'm the boss sort of attitude that left our squad unfit cos he was concentrating on systems rather than training As for your comparrison to PLG , do you remember the "players" he brought to their team ( sebo etc). He underestimated the job and the spl and simply couldn't handle it , which was funny as feck. It was not the old guard their that got him the bullet it was the way his team was playing at the time.
  10. was it not a 4-3-3 with JOB and humph to be wingers?
  11. to show how "well" moaning faced jeffreys did with no money here is the spl league on wages for 2008 figures for 2008. 1. Celtic 39m 2. Rangers 34m 3. Hearts 11.3m 4. Aberdeen 5.9m 5. Hibs 4.6m 6. Killie 3.8m 7. Motherwell 3.4m 8. Dundee United 3.3m 9. St Mirren 2.7m 10. Falkirk 2.6m 11. Hamilton 2m est St Johnstone figure not available
  12. this wee winter break might suit us tho. We were going thru a dodgy spell under the previous gaffer but everything has been positive and Victor and Jack have had 2 weeks to motivate and encourage the team. We will also show a little more fight because morale, at least from our experienced players, seems to have improved since JG left
  13. its what a lot of killie fans have been saying last couple of days
  14. JB has learned from his mistakes, i hope. why would he want to bring a manager that has had a bigger budget than us or dundee utd over the last 3 seasons to manage us. a BIG NO from me i'd rather Jack and Victor stayed till at least the summer

    Jim Jefferies

looks like he might be on his way from Killie. could he be a decent manager for us or does the old hearts connection feck that up ?
  16. ta Flow, just as long as it wasnt craig moore
  17. but who was the trialist tho Flow ?
  18. just a pity that Jim didnt leave all the talking to Wardy. Altho by the looks of that article JG was a bit frugal with info to wardy as well as everyone else cos Jim made it to leeds while Wardy travelled up for training aparently

    Herts Away

the aberdeen falkirk game is already off for that reason
  20. if they are saying that he will come in for 3 games does that mean that JB might already have someone in place to take the job but that manager needs a few weeks to either feck up the club he is with during the window, if its another spl manager, or to get to a certain point in his contract to let us get him for less ?
  21. so far they havent won one game ffs
  22. He was badly let down by nevin, imo, when he first came to us. A choice of an experienced gaffer would have seen a better return for his cash than billy gave him and who knows where we would be today if that had happenned. But since admin he has tried to make things roight and has, imo, learned from some of his mistakes. Up to a few years ago I disliked the man but now think he really does have the club's best interests at heart and deserves our support
  23. not evedence as such mate but surely giving his not signing a contract as a reason to sack him implies to me that we did try tpo get him to sign longer term and not apply for other posts as was rumoured
