last minute goal for the well anyone?
well said that man

There has been some talk on here with respect to the club not really adding value for some of the die hard support.
I know it maybe a little early seeing as we have 3 hours to get a result against OB ahead of us however I have a suggestion as to how the club could offer at least something back to the fans who have dug deep to support Motherwell on our travels thus far this season.
If we qualify, we get 3 home games, the club may pursue a 3 ticket Euro package similar to what Rangers and Celtic have offered in the past with the Champions League. If they do or just continue the way we've been going so far then why not offer 1 game free to anyone who has travelled to Iceland/Norway/Denmark.
It may only be a small gesture for what .... around 500 people in total (and cost £10,000 in potential revenue). I know we have tight budgets and this sort of money is a big thing especially when you know its a guaranteed £10,000 on match day.
It pails into insignificance when you compare a £20 ticket with £400+ to get to some of the previous games (and some have went to more than one).
The benefit is the club have a record due to UEFA regulations of every supporter who has travelled and to administer it would be relatively simple. As for a PR coup it could go down well with many on here.
I'm afraid I haven't been able to get to any of the away games thus far and it wouldn't affect me however my £60 for 3 games or so is guaranteed if we progress.
Just a thought that I hope is at least given consideration if the footballing gods smile on us in the next 8 days.
we would all love to be able to afford to go to the away legs.
The reason a lot of us cant is simply cos we cant afford to.
So you really want the club to reward the fans that are rich enough to get to the away legs?

Having to pay two quid more to get into the east stand for this game as opposed to an SPL fixture doesnt bother me. Its the old boys who've been following the club for 40 plus years, da included, who have to stump up an extra 6 quid due to no OAP concessions which is a bit harsh.
its not the clubs fault about no concessions for oaps ots teh rules of the comp that only juvenile concessions apply.
I'm skint but cant see the problem with the extra £5 for this round.
How much did the tickets against staeu cost us last year?
I just hope we get a good result tonight so have all to play for in front of as big a crowd as we can for the return

is there any way to get a dvd of the game from wednesday night ?
-
good call on friday jay.
Buddha was certainly with us on Saturday with all that Karma.
or was that just mcGhee in the dugout eating another pie

Why? Craigan is mince, experienced, but mince. I believe the last time he properly connected with a ball was 2001. I would rather have a promising young un over an experinced shit one anyday.
was it not from Craigans free kick that our first goal came from ?

So what you are trying to say Postie Jim is that you are happy for Scottish Football and Scottish players to wallow in mediocrity just so long as nobody comes along and tries to rock the boat and drag them forward. This my friend is the reason why Scottih football is heading for oblivion.
Here is an example (Rangers dressing room)
P Le Guen ' Boydy, I don't think you should be turning up for training hung over and eating Monster Munch as a diet'
B Ferguson ' How dare you treat my friend in such a way. Come on Boydy, let's go to Newcastle get hammered and get this guy the sack'
Result PLG gets the sack and Rangers are to this day playing the same old shite they always have and getting pumped 4-0 in Europe.
I would guess you could swap a couple of well players in this general scenario and you would have a similar story. Gannon will be delighted that he has got himself out of the hole that is Scottish Football.
I was wonderring how many defeats we would need to turn JG back into the messiah.
To change the way things were done he needed to include the senior players and get them onside. That is his serious flaw in football management. His inability in man management. He could have done the much needed changes with their help rather than a feck them I'm the boss sort of attitude that left our squad unfit cos he was concentrating on systems rather than training
As for your comparrison to PLG , do you remember the "players" he brought to their team ( sebo etc). He underestimated the job and the spl and simply couldn't handle it , which was funny as feck. It was not the old guard their that got him the bullet it was the way his team was playing at the time.

was it not a 4-3-3
with JOB and humph to be wingers?

this wee winter break might suit us tho.
We were going thru a dodgy spell under the previous gaffer but everything has been positive and Victor and Jack have had 2 weeks to motivate and encourage the team. We will also show a little more fight because morale, at least from our experienced players, seems to have improved since JG left
-
I'd question that mate!
its what a lot of killie fans have been saying last couple of days
-
JB has learned from his mistakes, i hope.
why would he want to bring a manager that has had a bigger budget than us or dundee utd over the last 3 seasons to manage us.
a BIG NO from me
i'd rather Jack and Victor stayed till at least the summer
-
looks like he might be on his way from Killie.
could he be a decent manager for us or does the old hearts connection feck that up ?
-
I can't pronounce his name but nothing is happening with it and the lad has left already!

ta Flow, just as long as it wasnt craig moore
-
Down to two things really!
1. As someone says, they (bounce games) don't merit much of a report as the result is pretty much always worthless
2. The only reason why it was covered was that I was off today and as such, didn't have any commitments at Fir Park AND there's nothing much been happening over the last few days it was something fresh for the site!

but who was the trialist tho Flow ?

just a pity that Jim didnt leave all the talking to Wardy.
Altho by the looks of that article JG was a bit frugal with info to wardy as well as everyone else cos Jim made it to leeds while Wardy travelled up for training aparently
-
the aberdeen falkirk game is already off for that reason
-
if they are saying that he will come in for 3 games does that mean that JB might already have someone in place to take the job but that manager needs a few weeks to either feck up the club he is with during the window, if its another spl manager, or to get to a certain point in his contract to let us get him for less ?
-
so far they havent won one game ffs
-
He was badly let down by nevin, imo, when he first came to us.
A choice of an experienced gaffer would have seen a better return for his cash than billy gave him and who knows where we would be today if that had happenned.
But since admin he has tried to make things roight and has, imo, learned from some of his mistakes.
Up to a few years ago I disliked the man but now think he really does have the club's best interests at heart and deserves our support
-
Evidence for this?
not evedence as such mate but surely giving his not signing a contract as a reason to sack him implies to me that we did try tpo get him to sign longer term and not apply for other posts as was rumoured
-
I've not changed my tune, I think sacking Gannon is a ridiculous decision, terrible timing and if there were other reasons behind the manager's dismissal, then we should be told. Giving someone the bullet for not having a contract when you've allowed them to work without a contract for months, well I hope Boyle realises how stupid that sounds.
Gannon seemed like he knew his own mind, if Boyle just wants a puppet then maybe he'll bear that in mind with the next appointment he makes.
Its only as stupid position if Jim had not been given a deadline to actually sign a contract to give us stability
-
I wouldn't say no to a Deek Adams appointment actually...
do you think her has gained enough experience at ross county yet jay ?
Surely one thing that JB has learned from the appointment of McGhee is that we need experience

is it blame game time?
The Odense players were crowding round the ref and jamie was away from them with the ball.
their keeper went to see the square go between craig and their "sporting director".
It stopped the game for about 3-4 minutes but i didnt see them trying to have a square go with jamie. Tom hately and a couple of others were trying to calm them down but it was far better for our players to stay out of it.
Pity jamie missed the pen cos he really deserved a goal last night for all his hard work
