  1. Some positive news on the McManus front it seems. Looks like it would be down to us sorting it out: Scott Burns ‏@ScottBurns75 20hStephen McManus has a one year-option (on his side) at @MotherwellFC and has told Stuart McCall he wants to take it up for next season.
  2. Agree...well over the top given we dont know things like what budget he has to work to or what scouting structure he has or uses. Also, it was Stewart Kerr who brought Hollis to Motherwell after working with him at Airdrie not Marshall.(Hollis joined in 2010 and Marshall in 2011). So, given the spunkfest a lot on here have over wee Twardzik then Marshall's success rate is 1 out of 2. Not bad.

    Inverness

Hamstring tightened up two games back and was subbed early...still oot.
  4. Aberdeen lost out on the home game. Hooray!
  5. Aye, 3 pts on Sat is a must. If we go in with a 9 point lead I am confident we will finish 3rd.
  6. I'll take that. Given we were due to play Aberdeen away anyway, we have a Saturday 3pm home game and we have a Cetic home game for the money. Couldn't make the last game due to a wedding so suits me I guess!! Also, Aberdeen are the team who get bumped this year by having 1 more away game than home games - so that's good!!!! :-) Both Aberdeen and Dundee Utd. need to go to Celtic park again so that is also in our favour probably in the regards they should be less likely to sneak a point.
  7. Snippet from the Evening Times after the game, seems the injuries are mounting and some suspensions on the way - Jack Leitch might starting for the rest of the campaign by the looks of it: "Stuart Carswell is due an operation, as is Paul Lawson, while Keith Lasley has a suspension coming up soon. Craig Reid could have a broken toe, while Henri Anier has taken a knock to his ankle. However, we were able to rest Lionel Ainsworth last night ahead of St Mirren on Saturday"
  8. Superb result and a 'must win' game. Fight for 2nd is on. If we win saturday and dundee utd lose we go in to the split with a 9 point lead over them which is very very healthy.
  9. Ach we will see I suppose. He will offer a bit more defensively.
  10. Looks like a 442 with Kerr on the right. Moore is unlucky to drop out. Wonder if Ainsworth and Angol were the other 2 doubts...McCall does not usually make such wholesale changes...would go part way to explaining their performances on Saturday.
  11. Aye, given the way Ainsworth was moving (or not moving) I'd say he might be one. McManus also pulled up during the game following a tackle, but seemed to run it off, so he may be the other. Everyone else seemed to be ok to me.
  12. Faddy and Carswell out. Two unnamed 'major doubts' according to McCall this afternoon...
  13. I have liked him at centre back and with a run in the position would be decent I reckon. Right back and right mid he as been ok at best.
  14. Didnt really work on Saturday when he did it and hasnt before either with Vigurs out there. Vigurs needs to stay on the left as thats where he is most effective. If we go 442 I would stick Anier or Moore there and see how they do if . For what its worth I do like Kerr and he can be ok moving forward right mid is not his position. I would go with 4-2-3-1... Gunnar Reid-Hutch-Mick-Hammell Lasley-Leitch Anier-Moore-Vigurs Sutton If Faddy and Carsy return swap out Leitch and Moore.
  15. Good article from the BBC on McCall & Motherwell- http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26808307
  16. I think all he is saying is that it was the same wee arseholes who hang about near/with the drum that jumped some killie fans.
  17. Def not a pen. Anier tripped up and fell ober.
  18. You washed your burd's wank sock?
  19. Yep, agreed. This is the downfall of the 2 year contract model. To make any return we either need to sell for profit after only a year or extend the contract which is obv a risk too given the financial model we operate.
  20. Aye, looks the case. If we dont have to slash our budget by a huge amount and can keep salaries around current levels I can see us keeping everyone we want to except Hutchy. Hammell, Las, Reid, Ainsworth, Hollis and Stewart wont be hard to deal with. McManus and Faddy I think will sign too. They have been good for us but not amazingly brilliant to command loads of offers from elsewhere. From what they said when joining and soundbites through the season it would have to be either much much more cash and/or a bigger club than most in spl who would also guarantee them games. Would be great for once to go into europe with a fairly settled squad!
  21. Same team to start as did against Ross County and Inverness. Killie have improved since the start of the season but I think we have enough about us for a home win 3-1
  22. Ross Stewart too -http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/motherwell-fc/kader-vertragsende/verein_987.html
  23. Also, Hutchy's management company is World in Motion....same as Nicky Law. Take from that what you will but they certainly wouldnt5 advise him against Sevco by the looks of it.
  24. Aye, lad who sits beside me told me about that. I had walked past him 5 mins before and he was blitzed. His mate trying to square him up at the time. 3hrs boozing on a bus from Dingwall and then some it seems! Hope he is ok...it'll be some hangover.
